- Angelina Jordan was born Jan 10 2006 in Oslo, Norway. She is currently 16
- She began singing at the age of one and a half
- At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and started studying all the greats from Jazz history with youtube videos.
- *Why Angelina always sings barefoot* - When Angelina was 6 years old, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. They talked for a while and discussed their dreams. It was cold and the girl had scars on her feet. Seeing this, Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. The girl thanked her and told Angelina she would pray for her every day. That day Angelina made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world could have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public, she sings barefoot as a way to remember that little girl and to remind us that there are less fortunate people in the world that could use our help.
Angelina holds so true to this promise that she has sung outdoors in Norway, in december... barefoot. She has sung at a dinner with ex-pres Obama... barefoot. She went on AGT (possibly the biggest stage in the world)...barefoot. She made a promise at 6 years old, and has stuck strong to it for years. That takes a special kind of person.
- She has always been the driving force behind her own singing career. It was her that asked her mother to take her to Norways Got Talent, where she auditioned at 7 years old and went on to win the whole show at just 8 years old.
- In an interview after the show, when asked what she was going to do with the prize money, the 8 year old replied, "I would like to give it to orphans that need clothes and shoes"
- When Angelina was 9 years old she became the youngest published author in Norway, when she wrote a book about the story of why she doesn't wear shoes when she sings. She donated proceeds from the sales of the book to help children in need.
- The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. After she won NGT, they did not want her to be thrust into stardom before she had a chance to grow up as a normal child, and get her education. They allowed her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that came in. Over the years since NGT, they have turned down offers from many major record labels and even disney.
- Angelina has covered more than 130 songs and over 65 artists in the last 6 years. She always selects the songs herself... everything ranging from old classic jazz to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. (she can cover Amy Winehouse and Lana del Rey like nobody else)
- Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, David Foster, Alan Walker and many more. All of which heard her and were blown away by her talent.
- Angelina has written five of her own original songs: "What is Life", "Shield", "Oslo", "Million Miles", and 7th Heaven" (all are amazing...all can be found on youtube)
In summary, Angelina Jordan is destined to be one of the greatest singers to have ever lived. This is just my opinion, but if you listen closely to any of her stuff you will hear the greatness. She sings with a natural style. There is no acting, no showing off, there are no unnecessary runs, or big belty notes just for the purpose of saying "hey look at me sing". She once said "when I sing I go into a beautiful world in my head", and you can always hear the results of that. When Angelina sings it is pure soul, pure emotion, pure music.
- Updates: On Aug 26, 2020 Angelina's Manager/Uncle announced in an interview that they have decided on Republic Records as the best fit for Angelina and she is now signed with them as their "highest priority new artist".
On Nov 6 she released her first single under Republic... "Million Miles"!
On March 19 2021 Angelina released her latest single "7th Heaven"
She has done so much already, but at 16 she is just getting started!!!

Your heart rate increases, you find it difficult to catch your breath, chills and shells engulf you. You are now addicted to Angelina Jordan the finest story telling vocalist I have ever experienced.

I would like to zero in on what just happened to you. She touched you heart and, I know this might sound crazy or impossible but it happened within 10-15 seconds! Her soulfulness which comes from deep within her changes to pure love when she sings. Your heart immediately recognized her love and swooped it up before you even knew what was going on. How do I know that? Goosebumps, tearing up (with the urge to cry) and being unable to speak when she's singing or right after she finishes, are indications her love is in your heart. And, guess what? She's not going anywhere. She's there to stay.
Oh, one more thing. You were very correct when you said her performances at 7 years old must be extraordinary. Oh, yes they are and don't think you will be listening to a kid singing a cute song. You'll see what I mean :):)

You have fallen into the vortex of Angelina Jordan who arguably brings the most confident, versatile, seemingly effortless, and fearless vocal artistry found today (whether measured across artists, genres, or decades). You may think this an exaggeration but listen to a few more of her many performances (145+ covers plus original songs - all on YT) and you will see! She has been performing at a high level all over the world since age 8 when she won Norway's Got Talent singing Billie Holiday, Nancy Sinatra, and Gershwin. Welcome to Angelina's music, she's the most emotional vocalist I've ever experienced & a wonderful human being, as well. I always recommend listening to the current Angelina (16 yo) first, then go back to her origins as a child singer (7-10). After 10 she's an accomplished "adult" vocal artist in a "young girls" body. Now, she is my favorite vocal artist, EVER. She's highly addictive. I first heard Angelina sing on January 6th, 2020. It was this performance of Bohemian Rhapsody, and I have listened to her every day since then. She is the most impressive singer I've ever heard, and I'm already looking forward to your next Angelina reaction.

Not to undermine her talent in any way, she is who she is after all, but she was wearing an in-ear monitor, as clearly visible in the video, and most likely received some type of assistance through it in terms of key and tempo.

While this is true about starting cold turkey a capella, She does have a pair of in-ears... And a proper starting tone could have been sent through the earpieces for pitch reasons

Yes sir, that is a Masterpiece to say the least. Thanks for reacting to my favorite vocalist on this planet. Have enjoyed many of your other video reactions to other artists, Pentatonix, Home Free and others but of course this is my favorite from you. Angelina has over 160+ videos on her YT channels going back to when she did one of her first studio recordings at her school in Norway and she was 6 years old singing "I Who Have Nothing" and the unbelievable talent was evident. She won NGT competition against adults in 2014 with an unbelievable array of Jazz classics from the likes of Billy Holiday, Gershwin and so on and she was 7-8 years old. Angelina is now 16 and already an Elite Master Class vocalist. Always enjoy your reactions and hope you will take the Angelina journey, there is never a disappointment. Majority of her videos are unproduced, mic and guitar or backing track accompaniment and her pure raw vocal skills.

I will listen to this performance as well as any of her others anytime. This artist paints her masterpieces with her voice. A stickler for doing songs as Angelina wants them to sound, not the way we think we know them. Angelina makes them her own.

I normally don’t subscribe and like until I see links posted to the artists channel but I feel that you’ll do the right thing soon so I did. Started singing at one and a half and has over 160 videos out along with 5 originals. Throw a dart at the list you can’t go wrong. I’ve been watching for two and a half years and never miss a day. She turned 16 on January 10 and last month did a third rendition of My Funny Valentine that is better than ANY other artist ever. At 6’ tall she is a complete knock out to boot. She arranges all her songs and love to kick in a little jazz vibe in there and slow things down so the emotions tend to come out. See you again soon I hope. All the best from Alaska

Angelina very early on stated she liked Louis Armstrong, Ella and Billie (at 7!). Having watched ‘Simon’s programme’ at 3 yo, she started entertaining her family every weekend by singing a song she had practiced on all through the week. Went to her mother at 5 and said she was ready, but her mother found out you have to be 7 to enter, so she entered Norway’s Got Talent at 7. And went viral with Gloomy Sunday.
