I Made A Female Stormtrooper Action Figure - Mass Effect Andromeda Repaint

- I had an action figure from Mass Effect Andromeda stored away with my collection of action figures for quite some time. Recently, a friend of mine gave me a 3D printed Stormtrooper head that he was planning to throw away. I knew I wanted to created a custom female stormtrooper. This inspired me to take my Sara Ryder action figure and embark on a custom repaint project, transforming it into a unique and cool female Stormtrooper.
I also had the opportunity to experiment with a technique suggested by some viewers, which involved creating a custom head ball socket using a combination of Vaseline and hot glue.
Enjoy this custom action figure repaint video!
Thanks for visiting DR Toys, and as always...

Excellent job! Would love to see you make some female robots. :)
Looks great - That hot glue/Vaseline things is a neat tip. Happy Crafting!
Thank you! You too!
Nice job! I could see it in the universe. Thanks for sharing!
Love it! I vote for a clean white
I just want to be as consistent as you brother! Very cool work! 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Oooh yeah love this!
Amazing work as always Dave.👍
Super cool. Love it
Very cool!!!!
She turned out great!
Thanks!
That is so cool... Great job on the helmet in particular! Even with the pinkie trick my hands shake way too much to get that level of detail. Nice job!!
Thank you so much 😀
I would have left this one cleaner, fantastic as always Doctor 👌
Yup, I knew it…😅
Thanks
Awesome
Great looking conversion Dave! I think the black wash looks good and gives the armor a worn and used look to it. Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks.
Thanks Dave. Once again, another beautiful build. I always look forward to your video. It’s so relaxing and inspirational watching you work. Thank you. Your friend from Australia, Graeme.
Glad you enjoy it! Thanks for taking the time out of your day to watch.❤️
I think it would look more toy and less figure if there was no weathering, but I always find weather pure-white objects to be a tricky business as there's a fine line between "I just cleaned it, but the crevices are hard to get into" and "I fell in the mud and this is what it looks like now." This one looks great, regardless! Fantastic job!
Totally agree!😅
Thanks
Hermoso custom saludos desde México

Awesome conversion!!!! I think the wash shows more of the detail 😊
Thanks
@@DRToysCreations you are welcome 🤗
Solid build Dave! It's a real coin flip on clean vs washed as both ways have a unique look~ Congrats to Mrs Boba Phat!
😅Thanks
Excellent
Thanks
Cool 😎 love it awesome 👍😎❤🎉
Thanks 😁
I dig the final look, the weathered look is definitely better. I think what went a bit wrong is your can of white did something funky, probably because the can was cold maybe. I usually warm my cans up in some hot water before i use them to prevent such issues. She needs a base though, give it a nice red desert one and dust some red-orange powder on the armor!
The can was plenty warm, it’s been in the 90’s here. But you are correct, the spay is funky… I was using an acrylic based spray and it lays heavier and left little specks. Good eye!😃
@@DRToysCreationsman that's a shame :( I feel like it lost some detail on the figure because of it. Could've been the reaction of the plastic as well, there's so much variation between materials that you never can really guess what'll happen.
Nice. I’m not the biggest Star Wars fan in the galaxy, but I always enjoy your SW builds.
Cool, thanks!
Nice thing is, Lucasfilm pumps out yet another Stormtrooper armor variant out every other minute to sell even more toys, so there's lots of freedom.
😅True!
It's sexier and cooler than the Star Wars Stormtrooper👍 I'm also remodeling my Barbie doll based on DR TOYS's work😃 I'm looking forward to the next one.
Awesome!!! Send me pics when you’re done, I would love to see!
You can send them to me in Instantgram if f you have that. @dr._toys

thank you for your reply. I'm not on Instagram, but I post stop-motion videos on You Tube まーシネマ上映中, so I plan to post a time-lapse of the modified Barbie doll once it's completed.
I think she looks pretty kick ass, I really like how she came out. Awesome!!!
Thanks 🙏
Hey Dave, next time you have a dodgy print like that helmet, try Tamiya Liquid Surface Primer. You brush it on just like paint, but it fills a lot of imperfections, and it can be sanded when dry.
Thanks for the tip!
Clean, better, ugh!
🎉🎉🎉🎉
Great to see a dirty stormtrooper
It's awesome , I think i would have gone shadow trooper with black and red.
If I did the black trooper that would have made my life so much easier!😅
Thanks
Really cool .
I've just got into kitbashing and was wondering if there's any tips on finding the right figures to suit a custom you have in mind ,I don't have a fodder collection yet so have to buy specific body's or heads that 1 will fit the build style/clothing and 2 will be the right scale .
Thanks if you are able to answer, either way keep doing great content I really enjoy it and it is in part responsible for my new found hobby 👍 .
So, that’s one of the tricky parts of this hobby. If you do have a specific thing in mind you almost have to go buy this figures at full price and there’s guys that do that. But for me I have collected figures from yard sales and thrift stores over the years and when you have an idea you go hunting through your bins. Even then sometimes you can’t find the perfect match. Sometimes there’s those moments where a perfect match just kinda makes itself (you’ll know it when that happens, it’s amazing) 😃 That’s a long way of saying start hunting for your fodder and have fun! 😃
The black wash helps lots of tiny details to show up, it you had left the armor plain white they wouldn't have been visible.
Thanks
I think he already
knows that by now 😝🤷🏻♂️...
I know he knows how it works, but as he says in the video, he was unsure about having used it in this particular case.

Ah it seemed like you were explaining
to him how a wash worked though 😄🙈..
Enjoy your day mate 😉😊..
😻 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 😹 Grazieeeee
nice work, i would dry brush the white back up a bit and do some edge highlights or distress the black a bit at least right now the white looks a bit to dirty and the black looks to clean
Totally, love it. Thanks.
I think if its already weathered, you should add battle damage. Maybe made a little sidekick drone 🤔
That would be fun. I do have something fun planned for this, stay tuned.😃
Crazy question, what was the word you used when sanding the 3d head sculpt, was
it " ghosting"? Is that referring to the lines made by 3d printer? Just curious. I've bought some 3d printed items some had lines that were really showing and some didn't. Depending on what the item is I kinda like the lines. Of course a helmet sculpt wouldn't look right with the lines but a few thrones that I've purchased the lines looked cool. Awesome job.
Yes, I was referring to the ridge that was showing from the putty I used to fill the hole.
I have also just started playing around with 3D printing and the striations that the printer leaves drives me nuts!😅
Nice man you nailed it i've been looking for a female storm trooper figure base body fr qte sometime bt can't find one fr a project i wt td
Glad I could help
Q what scale she is ?
6 or 7
She is 7"
@@abdaponte49
I would like to see what you would do with a made to move Barbie. At sixth scale.
so awesome. but i would have kept that toy as is, for collectors. or maybe not. i was the kid that tore good things up to try and make other things.
Same here’s.😅
I got it at a yardsale or thrift store for around $1 and I don’t have any attachments to the game. She was also missing her helmet and gun so seemed like a good one to remake.😅
On average, how much time do you think you dedicate to making a TY video each week?
Around 20hrs. 😃
Awesome build, i think full white would have looked better, the wash just made it look too dirty.
Yeah I agree
☀️
🌚
A sequel trilogy helmet would fit the body better, more angles and less fluid/organic
Where can l purchase one?
This is currently handed off to Killcutter, a toy photographer, and he is doing a photo shoot with this. Stay tuned for the video.😃
Super white with SOME wash here and there (joints) would have sold it better. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but the wash almost makes it look a bit.....sloppier? Still looks bad ass though. Nice and quick custom.
As soon as I put it on that was my exact thought… it’s all part of the journey.😅
Very nice
Is this a 12 inch or 6 inch?
this one is a 6in
Those little lines on the sides you made with a pen are supposed to be blue btw :)
I did notice that after the fact…😬
I thought maybe some brownish on the lower legs, rear end, and lower arms might have made her look like she's on a Tatooine like world. The dirtier & grittier, the better. She looks really great to me. I think you did an excellent job. I know the helmet was given to you, but I would have loved to see her sporting a Biker Scout helmet. Then you could have custom made her a bike. LOL 😉
That’s a great idea of the but of dirt on the lower legs! I can totally see that!
Thanks
Wash - 👍🏻
The Star Wars universe is generally supposed to be more grungy.
Thanks.
So many options this opens up.
Buff as hell Gears of War Storm Trooper.
Warhammer 4K armor Trooper...etc
Totally!
Clean is better
You know in New Hope most of the extras playing stormtroopers were Women cause they were skinny enough to wear the suit... that's why stormtroopers have that big chest detail... true story... watch them run next time o. The deathstar! You'll see.
I’ll keep an eye out for that. Thanks.
Desde que Disney le puso las manos a la franquicia Star Wars hasta ese momento sirvió.
