Thats so cool . My mind automatically tries to figure out what it looked like before it fell i to ruins . And then i wonder why its not being restored. And i want to know the history, and why it looks like this now .
They made the stairs uneven on purpose. So when an enemy runs up they trip and are easy targets . The people living in the castle know what steps are uneven 😎
what a cracking little gem of a find. thanks for the tour :) i know myself it's tough getting started with a channel, so here is an early christmas present from me - i've subscribed. looking forward to your next video :)
did you find the tunnel?...there was supposed to be a tunnel from the castle to the whorlton church...but it was blown apart supposedly to stop the Germans using the tunnel to invade..We visited it in 1977, but were told it was far to dangerous to venture into.
I’ll go back and look , never even knew about the tunnel. I want to do a video on the church so if I can find that , that would be awesome. Thanks for the information
I was getting deep feelings of danger on many levels not just from the physical condition. I looked up the history the original belonged to Robert de Mortain which means my ancestor Ralph de la Haye, his seneschal , was there so my dna was reacting....goosebumps.
Top ten castles mate it was a fun walk with u going up there🎉

Nice one. Very cool vid. 👍👍🇦🇺
Much appreciated
Apparently the part you showed us was the 14th century gatehouse, the main part of the castle beyond that it is mostly gone. Thanks for the tour!
great video
Thank you
Amazing how they built double skinned walls with passages for 🏹 archers.
Keep the tards out
I think I have been here years ago! They must have cleaned it up. It looks better know than I remember.

No tunnel I can find , doesn’t mean it’s not there . Could not gain access to inside of church or tower so might start from there
Where is this 🏰 castle located, its beautiful and intriguing
Near Swainby
