Local lore has it, back in the 16th century. An outlaw by the name f William Gibson hid in the cave whilst on the run from the authorities in nearby Barnard castle. The locals who apparently like young Gibson, would bring him food and clothing. Eventually the cave took his name.

It’s just lovely up on the moors this time of year 💜💜 love all the purple
If you did that today I'm surprised you didn't get blown away on the top! It's been blowing a bit today. Always great views from up there, Jason.
Yeah went up straight after work
Amazing views 🌳❤
The cabin on the thumbnail is my mates, love it down there
It’s a very cool place
Lovey looking waterfall that 😊
Great footage, Hence a new subscriber there :)
Cheers , much appreciated
@@jasonwoods767yr welcome.
I've seen this marked on maps and it looked a bit out of the way, Was it easy enough to find, looks a photogenic waterfall. Nice video Jason.
Yes , about 10 minutes past high force , thanks for watching mate
Oh wow J brilliant
Cheers mate
I feel sad for the poor horse who lives alone. I wish I could free him and take him off the farm 😢
I’m sure it’s very happy there
Absolute stunning scenery J
Cheers mate
Enjoyed that, thank you!
Cheers
really is a mystery property needing lots of tlc
What a shame not restauring this ship. Gb spend a lot of money on far less inporten things. Sad to see 😢
The first part of the walk was pretty spectacular before it gave way to the top of the moor. Good to see so many tadpoles doing well in the first pond.
wonderful details of the sceneries. Loved the clouds reflecting, and so much 💛
Thanks for watching, much appreciated
Grinkle Mine
Beautiful day for you, jason
Hi jason.
Hi , hope your all well
Hi jason
Absolutly beautiful. Much poetry and sometimes mystery in these sceneries. 💚🌿
You’d be wise to stay out of this mine. Not only flooded with freezing cold waist deep water, there’s hidden drops, loose ceilings and loads of bad air - and extremely easy to get lost in there. You also need landowners permission to stray from the public path that runs in front of the house.
Yeah I’d never go in

Where is that old little building at the end of the video?
Just off the path
did this in 1969
Fantastic walk Jason, I'll have to get down there soon for some bluebell images with Roseberry Topping in the background
It’s a very relaxing place Andy
@@jasonwoods767 It was less relaxing when I climbed it in January 🥵. But the bluebells look amazing.
@OutandaboutwithAndy yeah , it gets the heart going
Lovely walk thank you for sharing sir.
Thanks for watching, much appreciated
There is also an interesting abandoned facility on the top of thd cliffs
Cheers , I’ll go and look
Google Streetview show that as being very well maintained until about 10-15 years ago (like many such places) but it seems no-one gives a toss any more. Morons.
Hi mate im from guisborough and i was wondering how to get to this place? Looks really cool. Thanks
It’s just at the back of Morgan’s scrapyard, if go up the path behind little waterfall farm near the viaduct, up to the Cleveland way path , take a left and fallow the path down
Gorgeous sky 😊
The second video I've seen from this abbey in as many days. Before that I'd never heard of it. Looks like you got a good day for it Jason, albeit a bit windy.
Wasn’t raining for once mate

Had the best day! Absolutely beautiful xxxx
Love watching your church walks
Much appreciated, thanks for watching
Shoot me a DM some time fella? It'd be great to explore this place in better detail if you'd be up for an adventure.
No problem mate
Cheers for this, haven’t been since I was about 10, was always too creeped out to go in, so never really seen inside. As I’ve grown older I’m so fascinated by it, do you have any idea how far down that tunnel goes in the fan house? I’m so curious to know, if it wasn’t flooded I would imagine it would go on for miles to the other mine entrances, some probably unknown. The other mine on the way back, that has a bricked wall at the end with the hole in the middle, I know it would be far too unsafe, but I’d love someone to get in there, I think there’s another clay wall after that according to some online info, but I really wish there was more info on them. I wonder how deep they really go, and if there is any possible access. Imagine there’s tens of miles of mines in our hills.
