    I agree, but I'm still leaning on the max more because of the exact same reason you've mentioned, wide yet taller view and smooth or flowy. with the gopro max, it feels more immersive, body movement doesn't affect the video that much, but as a viewer who also rides, I can still see or imagine how crazy fast you ride and how gnarly and rough the trails are, and I like the 360 effect? because I can see how you move your bike below you, which helps with the immersion and also helpful for my skill😄. Whereas the gopro 11, although hyperview, it's not as tall; smooth but not as steady or flowy, like it projects the rider's sudden body shifts/movements; and lastly, not as immersive. But it's action packed💪. max: relaxing? yet immersive. 11: hyperview, fast and action packed.
    But that's just me, and knowing your work, I can't wait for you to do your magic with it🤙

    Hi Mark, if i record at 5.3k 8:7 it’s possible to crop it afterwards in a 16:9 hyperview correct? Or am i getting something wrong here? If so, isn’t a better to record at 8:7 all the time to have the freedom to crop/reframe afterwards? Or am i getting something terribly wrong here😅

    • @MarkMatthewsMTB
      @MarkMatthewsMTB  Před rokem +3

      I don’t think so I’ve shot in 8:7 then cropped and it looks narrower. I think hyperview warps 8:7 into 15:9

  • @harzenduro
    @harzenduro Před rokem

    Thanks for that video. I have two questions. Is recording in 8:7 and later changing it to 16:9 in the app the same as Hyperview? When you record in 24fps, is your timeline when editing also 24fps? A piece of advice also, get the Stuntman chestmount. It's way mor stable and takes out those micro shudders you have on both cameras with the chesty.

    • @MarkMatthewsMTB
      @MarkMatthewsMTB  Před rokem

      Thanks for the chest mount tip! To answer your questions: no hyperview is always in 16:9, I don’t believe you can do it in post. Timeline always matches frame rates for best results

    Have you tried to bump the ISO max up to 3200 or 6400 on the 11? It helps with that stabilisation in low light for sure, as does a higher frame rate (at the cost of the motion blur).

    • @MarkMatthewsMTB

    Question being a MAX owner for years now and thinking I have it dialed for the most part after researching different settings for what I use it for. Would you keep your personal settings even in different settings ex: more light same colors maybe a lil less. And or completely different like gym training videos with the max

    • @MarkMatthewsMTB
      @MarkMatthewsMTB  Před rokem +1

      I make small adjustments depending on the light, and sometimes I will keyframe in editing to adjust exposure throughout different parts of the trail. It's better to make the footage a little darker and edit it brighter because you can't really darken footage that is too bright.

    Max still outperforming new gopros. Max footage just look way more better. Only downside is max resolution is maximally 1440p in hero mode. I wonder how hero11 handles higher iso. Max is damaging the footage already on iso1600. Another downside are the lenses on max as they cant be replaced. I have just damaged mine during 3rd ride with camera and now i have to go for replacement camera. Also live stream setup is better on hero 11 from what I have researched. Still if I will be looking for camera again, I would go for max all the way!

    • @MarkMatthewsMTB
      @MarkMatthewsMTB  Před rokem +2

      Yea the insta360 you can’t change the lenses either, I don’t think it’s possible with any 360 camera because the lenses need to come ride to the edge of the camera body. Hopefully future technology will get around this!

Or use nd filter to get motion blur if desired. The missing frames are more of a distraction than an effect, but you're an amazing rider that's not an issue, haha
