- Chile, I went in to get 2 molars removed and the dentist ended up taking out my wisdom tooth as well while he had me open. Tell me why this man done fucked up my face???

I just got my wisdom teeth removed last Thursday. First, I was sedated...I was dead to the bed. Second, he prescribed me antibiotics, some fancy mouthwash, hydrocodone, and ibuprofen 800mg. And then he called and checked on me on Tuesday. I've been high all weekend and feel great.

if it was impacted it was supposed to be a surgical procedure. in addition, you were supposed to get antibiotics. feel better!

Beansamillion Amen , I was put to sleep and I out. I was so buzz out, my husband had to guide me out of the office. I went home and slept for about two hours. Sorry for your pain.

Glad you're better. Why didn't the dentist know your tooth was impacted and horizontal? Did they not take X-rays? An oral surgeon should have removed that tooth, not a regular general dentist. Oral surgery calls for more than a topical medicine to numb the mouth. You needed to have an IV sedation and if you had pain afterwards they have some medicine they can stuff inside the gums, if necessary. Also, did they stitch you up after all that? I know because I had TWO, one on each side. I was out of work for over a week. That pain don't no joke! Glad you're better though,

YEP! And a slew of others. One medication is supposed to keep down infection.

that's a mess when I got mine pulled they gave me some super strong painkillers and antibiotics
I went to school for dental assistant. The dental office I worked at didn't give you a prescription unless you asked for a simple extraction. He could have gave you some more lidocaine because it's not supposed to hurt, I've had all of my wisdom teeth pulled at the same time. Fever is a sign of infection so you .eed to call him and get some antibiotics. Then report him for being very unprofessional. Next time go to a female dentist, smaller hands and usually are more gentle.

Back in the late 80's, I had 4 teeth pulled in order to make room for my wisdom teeth. The dentist prescribed Tylenol 3 and I felt zero pain. But too bad that's when I found out I was allergic to codeine. My bottom lip swelled up like Eddie Murphy's on The Nutty Professor! 😨
The next day, my mother was all, "Why aren't you getting ready for school?!" I looked at her all kinds of crazy and said, "I can't go to school like this!!!" 😣😒😲

Feel better soon & get your narrow as to Urgent Care for antibiotics on the fever & chills. You don't want in infection to set so deep you have to go back for oral surgery. The last 2x I had extractions I ended up in the ER. The last time I had tooth removed on Thursday after hours urgent dental care b/c my filling came out (20 yrs old), it shattered my tooth. Dentist worked on it for almost 3 hrs. Friday morning my fave was swollen like a panda bear. Saturday saw a doctor in urgent care. She added a 2nd antibiotic to go with the one the dentist gave me. She said the tissue around my stitches was angry & swollen. That same nite on a Saturday I'm in the ER. Pain off the chart that my BP was high. I have normal BP. The have me a max dose of some narcotic in my ass by injection. 30 min later they checked in on me. My pain was still present but I had climbed off the ceiling from the harder pain. They checked my BP & it had come down a lot but not yet normal. THAT is when tell tell me my BP was crazy high when I checked in. Pain kills!!!
First off...if the dentist numbed you and you still felt the pain. You had an abscess that should have been taken care of before he started. Secondly it seems like he bruised your jaw bone. Which hurts like all hell days after whatever procedure is performed. My roots wrap around my teeth. So I know what you went through to get that tooth out. One time it was so bad that I had to go to the emergency room. Because I thought the dentist broke my jaw. Oh yeah and I know all about the friends in low places baby. They do come in handy when in need lol

Feel better soon! I had my wisdom tooth removed a few months ago and I swear the dentist broke my jaw....well at least fractured it. It took me more than a month to open my mouth wide, without it feeling like the bottom was going to fall off.

As a dental professional he should of known about the impacted tooth through radiographs and careful treatment planing. He could have taken a more conservative approach to extracting your teeth.

I can't believe they didn't put you under! And he should have gave you antibiotics, hopefully it's not infected.. Do you have a follow up appointment? I remember I was so scared to get my wisdom teeth pulled because of stories like these but it was actually a pleasant experience. I didn't need the pain pills after 24 hours and got 4 days of sick leave so it was a nice few days off lol

From someone whose had multiple oral procedures, braces and all her wisdom teeth removed, he treated you liked you was in the wild wild west!!! You were supposed to have that outpatient SURGERY with a qualified professional. You were also supposed to be given anesthesia, an antibiotic and REAL pain drugs...the controled substance kind! He need to be reported. Make sure you don't get an infection!!! I hope you get a SAG card with better benefits soon love.
You may be experiencing what dentist call "dry socket" after that procedure which can be extremely painful. It's when the area begins to get infected. You must call your dentist back immediately to let him know so that he can place medicine soaked gauze in a the open wound and instantly the pain should stop and the infection will c Lear right up within hours.
