Rich/Hollow color, high/low contrast, warmth to bring forward/cool to recede, all these things --- but doing the opposite of what you normally do. It's like those old "full face of makeup I hate" videos from 2017 but with techniques instead of products.

The idea of hollowness is mind blowing. I have light-medium warm olive skin and I thought that meant any color blush could work for me lol. I just realized that most of my blushes are way too saturated for me. I need to mix some of my foundation in it to get the color that will look at home on me. Luckily it’s an easy fix

I'm a medium tan deep (~NC45), and I enjoy bronzing drop formulas. However, as an olive girlie, all the ones I've tried are too red or not dark enough. I tan golden, so I need orange/neutral bronzing drops. My best bronze look is just using my contour and then slowly layering a orange blush or color corrector just to warm it up and make a believable bronze. Then I slowly add a paler pinker blush as a true blush in the center of my face to brighten the bronze. Bronzing drops tend to come in one maybe two shades for my skin tone, but most of the blush shades in a line work for me to achieve different things. Maybe when I find a good color in the bronzing drops, I'd use them. For now, I prefer a blush look over a bronze look.

The dermatitis struggle is so aggravating. I have rosacea, excema & am prone to all kinds of skin ailments. Actives are the worst, even HAs irritate & finding sunscreens I can tolerate is a chore. No chemical spfs allowed. I wish they'd stop putting skincare actives in makeup. The summer heat makes everything worse :(
Spironolactone may very well have sorted out the dermatitis too. Sometimes dermatitis is actually a response to sebum. Absolutely sorted out my perioral/periorbital dermatitis that I had for two decades. I won’t be without it.
I love the blush layering it is working so well. On the bronzing drops question this is not something I think you need to spend a lot on, there are some pretty decent drug store drops that work just as well as any of the high end ones.
When I first read "Mario Vivids" I thought he had released a very vibrant eye shadow palette. His last few palettes have been so low-key, I thought maybe he went bonkers and released a really wild palette. 😂
I have deeper skin than you and despite my best efforts to avoid it, my skin changes colors dramatically in the sun, both the undertone and the color. I go from very green, almost blue, to a rich bronze that looks warm. I use bronzing drops to adjust my foundation shades year round and I love the fenty body one in the lightest shade (which isn’t very light).
Oh! The video contour vs bronzer it would really help me out a lot! I think you mention already something in the cool vs warm tones (i might have binge watched too much thou, so i might be confused!), and i would really love a deep dive!
the mario plumping gloss stick looks so lovely but personally I hate that sort of super bright packaging, I feel like it looks cheap and inelegant 😅 The way it looks on you reminds me of the way my old (most definitely expired) ELF jelly pop lip oil in Apricot looks on me but I realised a little while ago that they've been discontinued 😢. They were in colourful squeezy tubes which look cheap also but I could forgive that because they were indeed cheap and reminded me of juicy tubes which is nostalgic.
This was awesome. I've been instinctively putting a little pop of fuchsia/bright pink over a really orange blush i have to change the tone of it and love how it's morphed into a better orange for my coloring. You just explained why... I LOVE THIS! Color play is fascinating and so much fun. I'm enjoying mixing and discovering what looks good for me! Thank you!!!!💜

I definitely need your contour and bronzer video. Contour scares me to death, so I never use it. I am very trepidatious with Bronzer to the point of putting it on so sparsely I don't know if it makes any difference. 🤷♀️

I love the makeup by Mario gel blush formula. The Barely blushing shade is my go to everyday light makeup workaday blush, but I may need to get one of those bright colors! Those look fun for a different vibe. I’ve actually hit pan on both my bronzing gel and blush I love them so much.
I have rosacea and a condition called chronic hives and very sensitive skin generally. The First Aid Beauty cream is the only one I use on my face. I’ve tried dupes but they just don’t compare!
Im sooo hyped for the color corrector vid!! I keep seeing tutorials that tell me to use pink on my dark under eye and my (veryVERYlimited) art brain is like "pInK cAncEl PuRPle hOw???" I just, I see the art wheel, I get the concept in general, I need guidance on how to apply it to face stuff! To put it into context, I have really deep set eyes and dark purple AF undereyes and it's one of the biggest things I've ALWAYS been self conscious about. ANYWHOOOO, love your vids! ❤
Pink is a tint of red (tint = add white; shade = add black; tone = add both white and black). Purple is red + blue. The pink would have to have some yellow (opposite to purple on a basic colour wheel) added for warmth to help cancel out purple.
Great great video as always!!! The bronzing drop I use is the RMS Supernatural Radiance Serum. I also like Sisley Phyto Touché sun glow gel. I get pretty tan during the summer. During the winter I am a light to medium natural skin tone and more medium to tan during the summer. I use a lot of products from Sisley that are based in skincare as I am in my early 50’s and my skin has changed dramatically over the last few years. If it has skincare benefits in it whether it be foundation or general makeup products I am completely there for it.
Please try the Ciele bronzing drop on itself as a liquid bronzer please. I’m so curious, as I would use it that way and if it’s not working in on it own, I wouldn’t mind skip it.

I have an eyebrow question. I have fairly "good " eyebrows, but some sparse areas and one brow wants to go out of control (It's the side that I sleep on the most). I've tried filling in with a pencil or powder, but when I go over them with a gel, it wipes out what I had filled in. When I reverse the order, it gets gummy. As a bonus, I am fairly pale with black eyebrows. Any help fam?

as a black girl, idk what i would do with a bronzing drop ?? it does not talk to me, i like bronzer (cream, powder) but those bronzing drops do not feel intuitive mostly to me bc of undertones, its already hard to find deep base products with nice undertones (not to much red) : adding those drops feels more works for nothing? Hi Kackie! When I Google layering chemical and mineral spfs, it says they can interact negatively and like, deactivate the spf or something? Is there any truth to that? I often wear a foundation that has light mineral spf in it over a chemical sunscreen…
All's fair in the name of experimentation, but for anybody else considering a cocktail of SPF-infused products as a routine: Stick to one sunscreen product in one session, unless it's explicitly designed by the same manufacturer to be used in conjunction with a sister product. That seems to be the safest consensus from dermatologists and SPF lab chemists. Experts tell us not to ever blend moisturizer or foundation with our sunscreen even if it might look or feel nicer. They want us to wait for the sunscreen to set up and form the film it's designed to create - 15 minutes - before applying anything else on top. No second SPF, no makeup, concealer, powder or spray - nothing, until the product is fully set. Many bona fide dermatologists and lab scientists on CZcams caution against mixing different sunscreens as seen here (wet over wet). Some express concerns about "mineral" and "chemical" sunscreens undoing each other's efficacy. Others say that it's OK to layer on products containing a different SPF filter - but only if you've waited at least 15 minutes for the earlier sunscreen to set up. Why wouldn't piling on more SPFs be better? Most of the experts I've followed caution against mixing any two SPFs while wet, even if they're both the same mineral/chemical category. They explain that UVA and UVB protection isn't achieved by the filter ingredient alone - the formulation is critical also. Every sunscreen product uses a specific formulation to bond together into a gap-less layer that prevents sun damage. Any other product - whether it's a second sunscreen, moisturizer or makeup - can potentially break up the original sunscreen formula before it had a chance to form that protective layer. Even if layering doesn't cause pilling or rubbing off, it can degrade the "web" of SPF filters in a way that's not visible to the naked eye, harming the protection. It seems like a bad idea to consider a daily routine that could undermine the strength of your SPF.
as a lighter skinned black women, i have no need for bronzing drops. maybe that’s because no one has put out bronzing drops that are indeed deep enough to act as a bronzer on me. if i need a foundation/concealer to be darker , id just mix in a cream or liquid bronzer because those formats tend to offer wider shade options. i will admit one caveat though, the darker shade of the saie super gel illuminator does give me a good bronze glow and can be used to make my complexion products more bronzey, but it’s also not marketed as “bronzing drops”. so, all in all, as someone who’s skin isn’t even that deep (but still has to purchase complexion products labeled “dark”) the current bronzing drops on the market we’ve absolutely no purpose.
Also if you could somehow tell me my undertone and if I'm fair or light I would love that cause I'm so confused I'm always getting the wrong shade in foundation

It made my period push to a week later than usual in the first month. Like it definitely has an effect. Everyone is going to be different, and I made sure to tell my GP I got on it (since I got the Rx online), but I personally haven't had any negative side effects.
Do you have the Eadem lip balm in “burnt malai”? I got the clear and I’m obsessed, and want to try one of the tinted versions - I ask bc it says it’s a “milky desert rose” on Sephora but it actually looks a little orangey to me, so I’m wondering how it might compare to some of the other orangey lip colors you swatched.
I wish Mario would make those 2 new pure colors in one component, because I'd love to be able to use both like you did, but I don't want to buy both. I need to be able to use color like you are doing, but so far I think the only person who is giving us multiple colors in one palette is Hindash.

I definitely need your contour and bronzer video. Contour scares me to death, so I never use it. I am very trepidatious with Bronzer to the point of putting it on so sparsely I don't know if it makes any difference. 🤷♀️

I love the makeup by Mario gel blush formula. The Barely blushing shade is my go to everyday light makeup workaday blush, but I may need to get one of those bright colors! Those look fun for a different vibe. I’ve actually hit pan on both my bronzing gel and blush I love them so much.

I have rosacea and a condition called chronic hives and very sensitive skin generally. The First Aid Beauty cream is the only one I use on my face. I’ve tried dupes but they just don’t compare!

To put it into context, I have really deep set eyes and dark purple AF undereyes and it's one of the biggest things I've ALWAYS been self conscious about.

Pink is a tint of red (tint = add white; shade = add black; tone = add both white and black). Purple is red + blue. The pink would have to have some yellow (opposite to purple on a basic colour wheel) added for warmth to help cancel out purple.

I haven't been wearing makeup for long, but I tend not to use bronzer. When I feel like a full beat then I use it. Same way with highlighter.
Great great video as always!!! The bronzing drop I use is the RMS Supernatural Radiance Serum. I also like Sisley Phyto Touché sun glow gel. I get pretty tan during the summer. During the winter I am a light to medium natural skin tone and more medium to tan during the summer. I use a lot of products from Sisley that are based in skincare as I am in my early 50’s and my skin has changed dramatically over the last few years. If it has skincare benefits in it whether it be foundation or general makeup products I am completely there for it.

My derm told me that fluoride causes perioral dermatitis. After antibiotics cleared it, I also went with no fluoride toothpaste.

I have an eyebrow question. I have fairly "good " eyebrows, but some sparse areas and one brow wants to go out of control (It's the side that I sleep on the most). I've tried filling in with a pencil or powder, but when I go over them with a gel, it wipes out what I had filled in. When I reverse the order, it gets gummy. As a bonus, I am fairly pale with black eyebrows. Any help fam?

as a black girl, idk what i would do with a bronzing drop ?? it does not talk to me, i like bronzer (cream, powder) but those bronzing drops do not feel intuitive mostly to me bc of undertones, its already hard to find deep base products with nice undertones (not to much red) : adding those drops feels more works for nothing? Not fun :(

All's fair in the name of experimentation, but for anybody else considering a cocktail of SPF-infused products as a routine: Stick to one sunscreen product in one session, unless it's explicitly designed by the same manufacturer to be used in conjunction with a sister product. That seems to be the safest consensus from dermatologists and SPF lab chemists.
Experts tell us not to ever blend moisturizer or foundation with our sunscreen even if it might look or feel nicer. They want us to wait for the sunscreen to set up and form the film it's designed to create - 15 minutes - before applying anything else on top. No second SPF, no makeup, concealer, powder or spray - nothing, until the product is fully set.
Many bona fide dermatologists and lab scientists on CZcams caution against mixing different sunscreens as seen here (wet over wet). Some express concerns about "mineral" and "chemical" sunscreens undoing each other's efficacy. Others say that it's OK to layer on products containing a different SPF filter - but only if you've waited at least 15 minutes for the earlier sunscreen to set up.
Why wouldn't piling on more SPFs be better? Most of the experts I've followed caution against mixing any two SPFs while wet, even if they're both the same mineral/chemical category. They explain that UVA and UVB protection isn't achieved by the filter ingredient alone - the formulation is critical also. Every sunscreen product uses a specific formulation to bond together into a gap-less layer that prevents sun damage. Any other product - whether it's a second sunscreen, moisturizer or makeup - can potentially break up the original sunscreen formula before it had a chance to form that protective layer. Even if layering doesn't cause pilling or rubbing off, it can degrade the "web" of SPF filters in a way that's not visible to the naked eye, harming the protection. It seems like a bad idea to consider a daily routine that could undermine the strength of your SPF.
as a lighter skinned black women, i have no need for bronzing drops. maybe that’s because no one has put out bronzing drops that are indeed deep enough to act as a bronzer on me. if i need a foundation/concealer to be darker , id just mix in a cream or liquid bronzer because those formats tend to offer wider shade options. i will admit one caveat though, the darker shade of the saie super gel illuminator does give me a good bronze glow and can be used to make my complexion products more bronzey, but it’s also not marketed as “bronzing drops”. so, all in all, as someone who’s skin isn’t even that deep (but still has to purchase complexion products labeled “dark”) the current bronzing drops on the market we’ve absolutely no purpose.
Also if you could somehow tell me my undertone and if I'm fair or light I would love that cause I'm so confused

Spironolactone question! I just saw a derm who recommended it and was wondering if I could catch you, Kackie, or others on the channel who could discuss their experience. I understand it’s safe but I’m also concerned about the hormonal affects.
It made my period push to a week later than usual in the first month. Like it definitely has an effect. Everyone is going to be different, and I made sure to tell my GP I got on it (since I got the Rx online), but I personally haven't had any negative side effects.

Do you have the Eadem lip balm in “burnt malai”? I got the clear and I’m obsessed, and want to try one of the tinted versions - I ask bc it says it’s a “milky desert rose” on Sephora but it actually looks a little orangey to me, so I’m wondering how it might compare to some of the other orangey lip colors you swatched.
