    Wow those are some green mountains! It’s interesting how drastically the scenery can change so quickly. Anyways great video!

    I-680 in California is an auxiliary route of I-80 that travels east of the San Francisco Bay bypassing along with I-880. It also bypasses other cities like the metro area of Oakland.

    Enjoyed the good drive through the Bay Area, especially at certain places had incredible scenic landscapes going through the mountains. Doing well and keep it up 😊👌

      this is a fun road to drive. Traffic was a bit heavier than ideal at sections, but still a great drive.

    Good videos, these are great for me too since I'll be moving to California soon (sadly, because I'll miss Texas) so, keep it up, Asphalt!

    We uploaded videos from the Bay Area at the exact same time lol. Great stuff, I’m sad I didn’t have time to explore San Francisco itself.

    This was my daily commute between Feb 1999 - July 2000!
    Back then, it cost me $18 to fillup my Mitsubishi Eclipse every other day for this commute.
    I’d leave the house at 8:30am and get to work on Bascom Ave, San Jose at 11am!
    I’d start to leave for home around 2:30pm to get home by 6pm!
    My boss didn’t approve of it so he got me a fully furnished apartment 3 minutes away on Moorpark!
    I filled up my tank every 2 months after that.

    its been a few months since I have taken I-680 to San Jose...

    Note: CA 242 used to be an extension of CA-24 and the intersection of CA 24 and 4 was not a freeway to freeway interchange. You avoided the CA-4/I-680 interchange, which needs SERIOUS upgrading.

    Hey you should come to Kansas City Missouri and travel I-70 from the independence mall to the Kansas area and also travel I-436 from the granview triangle (three crossing trails) into the Kansas area but you should do this in the Summer

    • @AsphaltPlanet1
      @AsphaltPlanet1  Před 5 lety

      i have driven through the Three Trails interchange, but for whatever reason I didn't film it when I drove through.

    So what happened after you used that express lane without a FastTrak toll tag? Or did you get the toll tag?

    • @AsphaltPlanet1
      @AsphaltPlanet1  Před 4 lety

      The toll wasn’t active when I drove this highway, so I wasn’t charged. I’d imagine there is a pay by mail option though. There is for other California tollways.

    • @BTornado14
      @BTornado14 Před 4 lety

      Actually no. You MUST have the FasTrak Flex responder to use the lanes. It has a switch to designate 1, 2 or 3+ occupants so that tolls can be assessed correctly. I went through once with the old transponder that wasn’t a flex and got assessed the full penalty for violating toll restrictions. I was able to dispute it, paid the standard toll, and immediately ordered the correct tag!

    • @joerouse7908
      @joerouse7908 Před 2 lety

      @@BTornado14 not correct. Any FasTrak toll tag will work. You need the FasTrak Flex ONLY if you have multiple people in the car and want to travel toll free.

    Just wondering, do you drive to all these places you film in, or do you fly in and this is rental car footage?

    • @AsphaltPlanet1
      @AsphaltPlanet1  Před 5 lety +1

      this was taken from a rental car. For this trip, I flew to Phoenix, rented a car and then drove back to Detroit over the following two weeks.

      @AsphaltPlanet1  Před 5 lety

      driving in America isn't that bad. Most Americans just pick a lane and then sit in it for the remainder of their journey. It's pretty easy once you are used to it.

    • @josemanuelibernonvalero9636
      @josemanuelibernonvalero9636 Před 5 lety

      Yes, I suppose you have to get used to do this every single day. Check out at Josan Spain Autovias channel in youtube and you´ll Know what I mean. Thank you very much for your answer and your time. You got a new follower from Spain. @@AsphaltPlanet1
