I was a child growing up in the sixties. I remember my mom sewing up these patterns and that’s how I learned to sew. Loved growing up in the sixties! You look fantastic in every one of these beautiful creations! Thank you for sharing. Love your videos!
I love how you can rock any era and are not afraid of prints.
Thanks Erin, you’re a doll!
Thank you for sharing a range of patterns from the 60s and 70s!
This woman has a whole Ann Margaret vibe about her. And love the patterns, BTW.
Thanks Kathi!😃
I got married in 1967, I remember everyone of these looks, enjoyed every minute of your video.
Hi Linda
I got married first time 69 ( he died very young), Made my own dresses when I was learning since 64. They said COURREGE-Style. IT was simple, simplier than the patterns my mother had
I absolutely love watching your videos. I loved the 60’s also. 👏👍
Hello Lindy
I remember my mom wearing these styles
Many of the patterns you show I would not have bought, let alone sewn.
However, you have inspired me to not just take another look but sew them for myself.
Thank you very much and please, please, please, keep it up.xxxxx
Loved how you made those old patterns look so up to date, amazing!
Thanks Marilyn!😄
Hello
Everyone of these dress fit you so good!
Aww thanks Betty!😄💕

The caftan is the bomb
That second dress, those are really your colors, you look gorgeous!
Hello
I. LOVE Vintage! ! U are so inspiring so glad I found your channel!
Hello, how are you doing?
All so cute!
Love your fashion shows. If you were born in 1963, that was the year I was married . All the 60s patterns brought back a lot of memories.
I love that people are sewing again! TY for critiquing the patterns. And you look amazing in the fashions you are creating. You obviously know exactly what will look great on you.
Hello, how are you doing my friend?
I can hardly believe that there is someone else on this earth whose wardrobe is very much like my own. I just loved your video. Thank you.
I luv these 60s vintage patterns. I was at an estate sale last summer and saw a box of around 100 of these patterns....should have bought the whole box.....dang it
Wow you can sew! And they look great on you each one. If I could sew like that wow.
Just lovely. You inspired me to want to attempt sewing a few of them. I love your fabric choices.
Thank you, Catherine! I encourage you to give one or two a spin!😄👍
Hello my friend
Wow!! What more can I say? Finding this made my day. I LOVED LOVED LOVED your fashion show. SO many dresses you made! They suit you so well too. I love the 60's and 70's fashions and patterns and due to the line drawings it can sometimes be an issue getting my head around the drawing to figure out what it will look like in reality. You are beautiful! Thank you!
Thanks Nicole! This is incredibly generous and kind. You’ve officially made my day!!😄
Hello Nicole, how are you doing?
Never get tired of seeing these styles.
Well, I'm looking in 2024 your older videos. I was always allergic against 60/70s fashion but seeing your re-creations with better fabrics actually convince me to try a project. Btw, all your shoes are gorgeous like all your fabric selections ❤
Thanks so much, cor! I hope you sew something you love.💕
Gorgeous!!!!
Holy cow those are beautiful, now I will be shopping at thrift stores looking for patterns. The fish one is one of my favorites, but loved them all .
Aw, thanks Patti. So nice! eBay is my source for these old patterns, I think I have dud thrift stores around me. Or I’m not searching hard enough. Anyway, happy you’re here!
Hello, how are you doing my friend?
You pick such beautiful fabric, beautiful yet looks so natural.
I love these styles and the fabrics you chose

Hello, how are you doing?
What a blast from the past! Loved shift dresses and made many.
Hello jmfmr! Thank you so much - aren’t those old patterns fun?!😄🌸
Absolutely love your beautiful sewing and your funny style of describing each pattern....so nice and relaxing....
Thank you, angie! Reading a comment like yours after a rough day is just plain good medicine for the soul. Bless you.
I love💕 all of the groovy vintage looks. Please make more sew-along pattern tutorials! I learned 'sew' much!
Hello, how are you doing
Everything old is new again. You certainly succeed in bringing vintage into the modern age. Great style sense.
Thanks Joyce! So nice of you to stop by and leave me this message.😄💕I love the old styles. I even love the old patterns because I can SEE the print on the tissue. Some of the old instructions are head scratchers, but I can deal with those to get to the end result!👍
Hello, how are you doing my friend?
Love the dress you're wearing, and your hair looks great! I remember these patterns!! I graduated from HS in '73 and college in '77. I definitely remember those fashions!
THEY ARE ALL LOVELY!!! YOU LOOK FANTASTIC ON YOU!!! THANKS FOR SHARING
Thanks Retia! So happy you enjoyed this!😄
It's amazing how many of the patterns you showed that I still have from that era, when I was a teen into my 20's. They were great dresses, and work perfectly for today, too! I really enjoyed your video--took me on a trip down memory lane.
This is lovely to hear, Karen, thank you!🌷
Hello, how are you doing my friend?
I love how you bring those vintage patterns bang up to date! All your makes look fabulous on you! TFS 👍❤
Hello, how are you doing my friend?
I loved every single dress! The fabric was beautiful and the 1960s style updated is fun and elegant at the same time. I'm thinking having you as the model helps this be so. Thank you the fashion show. Enjoyed every minute :-)
Aww, thank you Anita! How sweet!🌷
I love the style of the 60's and 70's-my favorite time for dressing! Thank you for sharing, love all the looks!! Great job. :+)
Hello Jim
May I just say...everyone has left such kind and wonderful comments! Thank you! I read every single one and then go back and read them again. I so appreciate you taking the time to comment. You’re all WONDERFUL!!!
The waverly ribbon would look great on a Straw Sunhat!
Hi Viv I love the patterns and how they still look great, your fashions are timeless, I think you’re beautiful and you remind me the beautiful Barbara Eden from I dream of Jeannie.
Vivmom Sews Do you have a Instagram page?
I thought of " I dream of Jeannie," very similar and pretty! but I just couldn't remember the name, Barbara Eden.
I really enjoyed your trip down memory lane with the sewing projects and vintage patterns; you did really well with them all! Thanks for the inspiration of how to sew and style vintage with a modern look. Have a great week!
Thank you, Heather, it’s really nice to hear this! I’ve gotten comments about the swayback. Frankly I’m too over it to tailor these clothes quite that much, but it’s a valid suggestion. I have a 60’s dress in my August Makes, hope you’ll be here for that.😄
Hello, how are you doing my friend?
I remember those patterns. My favorite era! I’m so inspired by you!
Hello
Love them all.
Thank you Michele!❣️
Hello Michele
Viv, this is great! I am now on the hunt for 60's dress patterns. Just getting back into garment sewing, hoping to make dresses that fit!
Hi Lori
I LOVE that all your clothes are modest looking, yet fun, and stylish!😊
I just love you and husband, you are always a joy to watch😀
What a great fashion show! The 60's are _now_!
Heck yeah!! Thanks Rob yN!😃
Ok, I am not sure why I was first drawn to watch one of your videos today but, Oh my goodness, I have somewhat "wasted", I mean that in the nicest way ;-) , half of my day just watching your videos!! Lol You & your hubby are just too sweet to share your sewing fashion shows with all your viewers! I LOVE that you are using older patterns & bring them to life with your, ok forgive me for this comment, quirky fabric patterns & color choices BUT, I absolutely Love that you are not stuck on certain colors for your wardrobe! I am a new fan of your channel so please, please keep sharing what you have sewn and give us inspiration. Keep up the great choices & sharing your not so great choices. ;-)
Oh Vanessa, your message made me lol. I definitely “waste” a ton of time on CZcams and I mean that in the most edifying way!!😄👍Glad you enjoyed the old 60’s patterns; that’s a favorite decade of mine to sew. And I’m all over the place with fabrics - thank God I never had my colors done because I really don’t want to be put in a box. I just gravitate to all the colors and all the prints. Love ‘em! Welcome aboard and hope you have some fun here. If you love sewing, you’ve come to the right place!💕🌸
Hi, how are you doing my friend?
Loved all your makes! A real nostalgia trip! Love the blue and white dress with the ruffles (8789) - and that party dress with the ruffle looks amazing on you (6488)!!! That pant dress is fab!

This was so much fun. I want these patterns!!
Hello Linda

Hello Susan
I love the first dress fabric, pattern, and color. It looks just beautiful. Really, I just love all your makes fabulous job! The vintage patterns have such great cover art.
Thank you, Nneka! You’re a doll to write and tell me this. Encouragement is the best.😄💕And yes! Vintage pattern envelopes had fabulous art. I wanted to BE them when I was little!!
Thank you so much for the video. I love the sixties style - really conjures up the spirit of Doris Day. Carry on sewing!
I like 60's patterns.

Aww, that’s so sweet Hope. Thank you for writing!😄💕
Hello hope, how are you doing?
I was 16 in 1963 so I love those clothes.

Hi Khine Khine! Thank you so much! I am really happy to hear that you enjoy the format. 😄💕
I really enjoy your channel. That Pink Linen dress is awesome ... Fashion show 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾❤️❤️❤️🔥
Thanks yvetta!😄
They are all super cute!
Love all your clothes and videos !
Thanks, Sheila!
LOVED the 60s fashion show, Viv! While I admire those who sew vintage garments from the 40s/50s, etc they're often not that practical, nor styles I would wear. Your 60s dresses made with modern fabrics are fresh, wearable styles perfect for all sorts of occasions. I may have to search around to see if my mother happened to save any old pattern gems..:)
Thanks Laura! Search around for those old patterns, they're a blast.
Laura Jones do you have any 60s suit patterns please
Hello Laura
Oh my gosh!!!! How did I miss this video! So good! And the dress "that won't blow up!" Lol!!! You are amazing and soooo creative. The whirlwind of dresses......just amazing and fun!! Just like you! Absolutely loved this video! Xx oo!
Aww, you are so sweet Jo Marie! I’m glad you enjoyed this one. Man, do I love those 60’s dresses. They just designed them to be so flattering in most cases. And the 22” zipper is the star, lol. Thank you for your wonderful enthusiasm and for all the support.😄💕
I love the two with the ruffles!
Thank you, G Kemp.🌸Excellent choices!😄
Hello, how are you doing?
I love these.
love your dresses, especially the A-line! Oh and the 70s ruffled one!
Hi Kaz
just a suggestion to add to your repertoire and because you are so talented, maybe some pattern suggestions in plus sizes. Possibly some great sew outs and a model to dress and share ideas. Just saying :)
I welcome suggestions, Dianna, thank you! I’m a little unclear about “sew outs and a model to dress and share ideas.” Could you expand on this? I would love to hear!🌸
Hello Dianna
I love watching your channel.
Thank you Belinda! Welcome!😄🌸I hope you stick around.
Love your pattern shows! inspiring! im guessing you have the perfect figure for clothes.
Wow! You go to so much effort to make these video's for us Viv. I would be exhausted with all those outfit changes. I've never thought of sewing up a 60's pattern before as I didn't think I would like the finished garment but you have proved me wrong. Thank you for putting so much effort and energy into entertaining us!
Thanks Laura! I had to shoot this twice!! The first time I could not edit my short videos together without losing half the frame. You’re really sweet to say all of this.😄
Hi, how are you doing my friend?
Hello, how are you doing my friend?
Hello, how are you doing today?
Wow Viv, they all look fantastic especially in the modern prints. My mum made that first dress and that brought such great memories. Many of the others were styles that my sister and I made for ourselves. Very Mary Quant and Twiggy.
Your figure and height really set all the dresses off. Loved the culotte dress too. I made a few if those in my day.
Such a great idea reviving all those old patterns. I'm just miffed that I never kept all my old patterns. Mind you I would need to do some major adjustments if I wanted them to fit my figure now! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Oh and I love your varying hair styles too.😘
Aw, thank you Micheline, so sweet!
Hello, how are you doing
You have a real vision for what those patterns can be! I look at those patterns and don’t see what you see! You’ve inspired me to step back in time!!
I just love all the great styles! I have to get my machine out you inspire!
Thanks so much, Terry.🌸I’m always happy to hear that someone is feeling inspired! Ready, set, sew!😃👍
Hi Terry
Love the dresses with ruffles at the hemline. So cute.
Thank you, Ginger, I love that one too.😃

You are so funny! I could hear me saying everything you do, and then hear my kids saying “ oh mom”! Just love watching and love seeing the older patterns done up now! Thank u!
Thanks Tina! Isn’t motherhood grand?😄Glad you enjoyed the video!🌸👍
These pattern styles never go out of style love them all. They look terrific on you too.
Thanks Linda!😃
Loved this episode, the sixties were my time ! I had to laugh when my grand-daughter came over with the "new" fashion cold shoulder dress. I told her I had made one in the sixties for a dance. I'm sure it was a Style pattern. Regretfully I had to leave a lot of stuff in England when we came to New Zealand, my pattern stash amongst them.
Hello Susan
Thank you for your videos. I really enjoy them.
Thanks Francine!😄
What fun! Flashback dresses! You look great in all those patterns. You're like Barbie. Sewing those had to be fun.😍
Thanks Tracy! You gave me a smile this morning!💕
Your welcome🐱 new subby here 🙋
I'm in love with the 60s dresses. Beautiful.
I love them too, Joanne. And those pattern envelope illustrations cannot be beat!! Thanks for writing.
😀😆😂😄 Go ahead and say it! Great video. I totally enjoyed the stroll through the decade. You are a beautiful woman. You must work as a model. Your personality shines and makes me think you are as beautiful on the inside as the outside.
Oh my gosh, L B, this is above and beyond nice. Thank you!😄
L B i agree, she looks and sounds like the blonde version of Ann Margaret. Lol
Nice, all of them looks more today
Thanks Peaches!😄
You are so talented! I love your videos and you inspire people to get busy!
Love your 60s fashion show. They are all beautiful
I just saw this video and I loved it. I have just started collecting 60's patterns and it was so great to see your makes. I subscribed to your channel because of that video great job.
New to this channel. I’m a little older than you but sewed all my own clothes starting age 12 to 13 or so. This is a blast from the past. The prices on those patterns! 60 cents 1963 pattern. Wow. You can wear so many styles because you have such great arms. That must be nice! Going to check out the rest of your channel and hopefully find a tour of your sewing room.
The only description of these clothes? Adorable.
So happy you’re here and enjoying the video, K. It’s great hearing from you. I’m in awe that you sewed all your own clothes starting at such a young age. Fantastic!🌸 And yes, how about those old pattern prices? Of course, now we can get Simplicity for .99 during sales, which is downright irresistible. Thanks for the compliment about my arms - I see flaws, but I will take your positivity and run with it!😄
BRAVO! I love them!
Thanks Angel!💕🌸
I had all those patterns . Lots of memories
