In this video weâre going to discuss aerobatic maneuvers. They are often confused with defensive maneuvers⊠but they are not the same thing. Think of classic aerobatic maneuvers as building blocks that you can use to create more complex moves that will be useful in the specific situation that you find yourself in. Letâs see what these building blocks are⊠and how this knowledge can be applied to actual combat.

Spinning is a good trick right ?
*gets blown up
immediately*
Now that's pod racing.
Toshio Thunder god dammit thatâs what I was going to say
The problem of sending your own plane in a spin to avoid enemy fire is that you could end the fight for your enemy all on your own if you don't have: 1 the altitude necessary to recover, 2 the energy to pull off the recover and 3 the knowledge of how to recover from a spin. Not al planes behave similarly and starting a spin at 20000 feet to end up recovering, and barely, at ground level can be embarrassing and frustrating, especially if you end up shot down by ground fire.
Do true barrel rolls. They will help a lot more. Then you can dive the rolls down and up, left or right for increased effectiveness.
@@niccadoodles That's called a feint, and can be pulled off with almost any and all the aerobatic manoeuvres.

There's minimal annoying fact.
The over-Gforce-knockedout.
Try dropping your speed for the maneuvers, G force is created with a direct link between your rate of turn and rate of speed. The lower your speed, the better you can turn before over-G. For example, your pilot is rarely knocked out in a flat spin because you have little to no horizontal velocity. If you were to spin that fast at high speed your brains would be smashed all over the side of the cockpit instantly.
@@sithrulezz423 Formule of G force: G=(v^2/r)/g
G=G force
v=speed in meters per second
r=radius of turn in meters
g=earth gravity acceleration(u can use 10 as valour that it's more easy for divide or u can use 9.8 that it's more accurate).
Example: if u do a turn with 100m of radius at 500km/h ur G force will be(using "g" as 9.8) 19.6G. Very strong.

Loop is the only maneuver I can doâŠ
I've played mostly aviation in WT almost since the game came out. My tips are:
- Use the roll over or hammerhead or something similar to those when boom & zooming ESPECIALLY bombers & also when you are going too fast but don't want to overshoot (just climb and re dive instead of cutting throttle & losing speed).
- You can win head ons against enemies with more powerful guns (if you have cannons at least) if you fire then quickly perform a canopy roll OR a more risky way is follow the same steps but fire a 2nd time after performing a canopy roll during the same head on pass.
-When diving away from a boom and zoom attack I think it is better to perform a "diagonal split S" which is basically the same thing but instead of diving vertically at 90° dive 45° - 55° while turning slightly towards the enemy then at the last second dive 90° right before you think they will shoot you.

You should have mentioned the "Tactical Egg" - the tendency of a loop to be pointier at the top (due to slower speed) and wider at the bottom (due to faster speed). Using the Egg to your advantage can make the simple loop a much more useful tool

Zig zag and fake a scissor fight by reducing to 40% thrust and force an overshoot or pull away with 100% thrust as soon as u get him in a out of plane manoeuvre. Gets them everytime but only works if nobody else is waiting like a freaking vulture
In simulator battles, these maneuvers work really well. But that's cause it's a lot harder to put bullets into the target so dogfights can last a lot longer, allowing you the time to pull off these maneuvers.
I don't know if this has a name, but one trick I will sometimes do in a sim battle is intentionally put my plane in a flatspin if I can't get the enemy off my tail. Doing this not only causes them to overshoot, but allows me to escape in virtually any horizontal direction. It does use up pretty much all your energy though, so it's kind of a last-ditch effort.
yesss. ive been practicing forced flatspins and trying to combine them with other moves. like doing a cobra and forcing a flat spin as u come out of it. havent been able to do it in game though, still working on it.
@@dakotabiggs9160 i do that sometimes for show but i highly advise against doing it as it only makes you a slower and easier target depending on the speed and reactions of the enemy; it only works if your enemy is WAY faster than you or if your enemy is simply mentally disabled
@@bilack7007 lmao thats my main reason for trying to learn it. Just for a flex, that and its really good like you said to cause an overshoot. But id only try it if im at high altitudes. That way i can immediately pitch down and get back to speed. Whether its a good idea or not, imma do it lol.

The "loop the loop" can actually be extremely useful in combat. During a neutral pass, both lanes typically bank until they are head on again and repeat this jousting until you crash or kill them. While during a neutral pass pull a long "loop the loop" so they get ahead of you during your manuver and can to get the pure pursuit or vantage point.

On thing about the loop I learned the hard way. You end up lower than when you begin, depends on what vehicle, but I was flying at 30 meters above the sea in one of the American planes and did a loop. I ended about 30 meters lower than when I begun, quite a bit slower, my pilot wasn't happy and neither was the USAAF or my team
Well I just randomly hold pitch, turn and yaw and hope for the best
I realized that I unknowingly do some of these.
Experience đ
Ur voice is so calming when I'm playing this game I'm screaming at the top of my lungs at my team MADAY! MADAYYYYYY
Something that can really help, is to roll over like making a turn, than pitch the nose down in your planes perspective.
When the enemy sees you roll over, he expects you to pull the stick and compete the turn. But when you push the stick, his sights are trained on the wrong side of your plane, missing his shots and leaving him moving in the wrong direction
When vastly outnumbered and out gunned, do continuous canopy rolls and let them try to hit u while u drag them down to the deck making easy targets for ur teammates
here a flying tip:
try not to colid to ure team mat when the game just started.

In my experience rollovers are a death sentence. Unless you have significantly more speed, youâre tail is just going to get close to a slow and predictable target.
Note: 2:10 Immelmann is different in WW1.
It's the one they show to be the Rollover. That was WW1 Immelmann.
Also should be noted, most of these don't actually work in the game because you'll get one-shot by a bullet and immediately die.
Higher % chance to instantly die depending if you have any SL% Bonuses activated. Anything above 150% increases death chance exponentially.
3:10 Incorrect about the loop, you actually need to cut the throttle in order to not blow up your engine on the way down, update 1.55 for the win, because it brings in temperature control for the engine, hence thermodynamics, you may need to let your plane gain speed a little bit, before you can increase the throttle.
A loop is done when you go into the vertical, you are required to cut your throttle after exiting the loop on the way down, press the s (or whatever key you set for your pitch) key or pull on the stick, then at the top of the loop, cut your throttle for the way out of the loop, then once you are about 80% level, GET THE F*** OUT OF THERE, firewall the throttle until your at WEP (Afterburner for modern Jets, War Emergency Power for props.)
Why is the background music always so good?
Pro tip for whenever a p400 or Spitfire is on your tail:
Step 1: Hope that you are close to your airfield
*pro tip*
I was looking for an explanation like this one. Thank you!
I also have a maneuver for a head-on attack: when your opponent comes at you go beneath them, make them overshoot then do a half loop and level the aircraft by going left or right, now they will go left or right follow them, but if your aim is behind them, then Iâd a half loop again. Get behind them aim and go to town. I hope this tip is a good one.
For the people in strike aircraft dealing with multiple opposing pilots, do this. Pretend that your on a track field. Start that maneuver of an oval, and once the pilots have been separated, take a shot whenever you can, and then turn back around. Due to common logic of piloting experts War Thunder, they will eventually crash into each other. After that, just fly away and do whatever you want.
No premiums, and good advice... thumbs up!
The loopty loop is able to be a combat Maneuver Because the loopy loop can help you get behind the enemy aircraft

As a seasoned P-40F pilot I can agree with you on that
Hahaha
I pretty much switched to the Americans because I would rather be the one ramming than the one getting rammed
You can use the loop-the-loop to reposition your sights quickly on a tank in Ground RB of a bomber you overshot.
If we must split hairs, what you called the canopy roll is actually a barrel roll from what I saw. A barrel roll is basically where you roll the aircraft over itself and it ends more or less directly forwards from where it started, less some airspeed. It can be useful to make an enemy overshoot but at the end of the day, if you only move forwards, all the guy behind you has to do is wait and predict your movements.
A canopy roll is a basic form of discplacement roll, where the aircraft displaces itself either to the left or right of its initial position in an attempt to either break contact or change position relative to the starting point. For example, doing a canopy roll to change position from the right side to the left side of your element lead.
If you are following an aircraft, it goes as follows: If the guy you are following does a barrel roll and still ends up directly in front, that is a barrel roll. If the guy you are following does a barrel roll and ends up to the left or right of your aircraft, that is a canopy roll.
