In the previous match, 4th seeded Johnny Guenther rolled the 2nd ever televised perfect game earning a $10,000 bonus from the PBA and a new Mercury Cougar automobile. amazing how those lanes backend have a good 'hold' area and balls do not 'snap' on the backend, probably a LOT of carry-down
