2008 GMC YUKON Won't Crank or Start...1 Click...Fixed...

- Car had issues Starting after it was parked. Drove fine all day. Parked in for a little while. Could not get it to Crank. Checked out the battery. Cleaned the terminals. Gave it a jump. Still had the same issue.

Talk about wasting time...the starter is bad. Cool, Got it! Takes like 2seconds to say that and maybe 2 minutes to explain. NOONE cares that you, stopped, got something to eat, got back in, put the key in the ignition etc.🤦🏻♂️

Mine had same issue. It was the escm above the spare tire in rear. It corroded an gets water in it... I unplugged it problem fixed. Always had issue after car wash or rainy days

You was able to find the problem? I have the same issue in 2008 GMC denali starter got change brand new yesterday and still won't crank.
@@ed2zzvvtl-ikseries445 I'm having same issue RN in my 08 denali too 😤 mine sat parked so long the batt went completely dead then after I replaced the batt it still does nothing when I turn the key but the dash everything has power and I'm getting warning lights saying park assist is off and stabilitrac needs service so I was thinking the computer just won't reboot after sitting so long with no power maybe? 🤷♂️🤔
@@kevinAuman1 i find my problem it was a fuse in the driver side fuse panel that was burn and one that was missing by the previous mechanic that was working on it.

That wandering camera only served to get me airsick as I forwarded through the video wondering if there was a point to all of this. Oh - bad starter - could have been done in 20 seconds. This video offers no information of value for almost 17 minutes.

Make sure your battery terminals are clean and tight. Make sure your ground wires are clean and connected.

One thing I see all the time DIYER”s do is change a bunch of stuff without testing stuff first always remember FAST Fuel,Air,Spark and Timing, pull a plug wire and put a spark tester in and check not only if it has spark but how strong it is. Also you can just pop the wire off and try and start it putting the plug wire away from the spark plug and check it that way but 6th can get shocked easily for fuel you push in the the spigot on the Schrader valve air you can easily see it the intake tube is blocked or filter clogged, and timing is mainly referring to making sure the timing chain hasn’t failed you can do a simple test to see if that’s the problem by opening your oil cap and starting the truck to see if any valve train is moving if yes you might be good if no then replace timing chain or whatever broke, but in your situation it ended up being a wear or tear item and you never want to buy a cheap starter for these trucks. If anything buy a Remanufactured one or a good quality one,I only put A/C Delco ones in mine because they last forever I got 425k miles out of my starter and 292 K on the factory alternator. Just remember buying a rebuilt anything means that a bunch of work that should be done doesn’t get done. Mainly they check ‘‘em all out by tearing them apart and replacing the brushes and cleaning up the main shaft and cleaning the exterior of the parts and then putting ‘‘em back together, they buy a junk solenoid and you can search a video here showing them doing it, now Remanufactured means all the bad stuff gets taken care of and Almost everything is new except the case in some situations, but Remanned is way more expensive than Rebuilt Starters. With a No Crank No start on ANY and every car you find the wire that goes to the starter on GM vehicles it’s always a solid purple wire on older vehicles relays and fuses are non existent until the late 90”s to early 00”s just a hot wire to the starter solenoid from the ignition you can Probe it from the fuse box on the 07 and up and even the 03 and up have the setup where when you try to start it the ignition if you release the key they keep trying to start This is for GM trucks cars were different. With a no crank no start first things first turn on things that use power and see if they all work normally, with KOEO look to see if the security light is flashing or on, if no move to the purple wire and probe it, apply 12v+ to it and see if the starter makes any noise if yes move on to checking the voltage either a DVOM “digital volt meter” or low buck turn the KOEO and see what the voltage gauge says you should be able to see if it’s super low because a good battery after sitting for a Day drops to around 12V the voltage should be above the 11v+ and under 12.5v after sitting overnight. I use a scan tool that’s not cheap so I get the cheat codes you guys all want however the Basics they teach us in school is good enough to get a good diagnosis.

I’ve had this problem happen to my 07 Yukon about 10 times. I leave the truck alone go back the next day to start it and starts right up as if nothing was ever wrong with it. Has your truck gave u anymore problems since you put the new starter?
Check your grounds. Make sure your battery terminals are clean. Make sure the line to the starter is bolted on tight.
