    Great video very informative 👏 however I have an 07 Ext Escalade my wife hut a dear and the truck went to the shop and 7 weeks later we got it back but not before the shop said they had trouble getting the headlights to work... they finally got them to work.. my wife brought the our truck home and it died 8 blocks from the house... 2 hours later it fired up so I jumpered the fuelpump relay and it worked so like you I moved a relay from the A/C In its place and got another relay and 20 miles down the road it dies again... so I replaced the fuelpump which is underneath the back seat because I had just filled the truck up with fuel before all the problems (34 Gallons)
    so I pushed the backseat forward took a box cutter cut the carpet, took a grinder with a cutting wheel and very carefully made a door in the floor and then removed and replaced the fuelpump... but didn't fix the problem so I changed the crank relay, starter relay,evap under the hood and the Ignition switch under the steering wheel .. changed nothing then I found people on CZcams with the exact same problem so I changed out ECM... now it runs I have a car reader Bluetooth threw my phone and it says that the Crank Shaft Sensor is not learning from the ECM i dont know what to do... very Frustrated 😠

    Damn man, this is actually the first in-depth vid i have found on the denali and their lovely problems! Unfortunately my 08 6.2L denali has a similar issue although if i keep trying the key and or hold it in the crank position then it will start maybe 4 out of 10 tries but no gauges on the dash other than voltage and then after it starts it only runs for 30sec and then it dies every freaking time and it also will not communicate with any scanners/code readers whatsoever! Tried multiple code readers and even one of the big fancy ones my buddy borrowed from his work still wouldn't connect? I had the truck registered and drove it for a year without a single hiccup then had a problem with my license and parked it in my driveway for little over a year and thru a NY winter... Well now i got my license fixed and ready to put it back on the road but my luck she has these unknown issues outside of my ability to diagnose and i literally need the truck so that i can get to my doc apts as im a disabled combat veteran and i live alone so no other means of transportation 😕 bout ready to give up and scrap the thing or sell parts off of it till i have enough money together to buy a cheap clunker... Motor runs like new and other than the issue causing it to shut off after starting it is a beautiful vehicle if you have any suggestions for things i might be able to try or do to diagnose the problem I'd be incredibly grateful 🙏

I connected the light to every pin and only 1 pin was grounded which was Pin #3. Upon looking at the Mitchel Ondemand electrical schematic it says that Pin #3 is "not used" but clearly it is being used because I can see the wire and its grounding. Do you have any ideas on what that wire is for because it's not listed on the Mitchel Ondemand electrical schematic...Thanks

I pulled a code u0100 lost comm with ECM/PCM-A. I tested all relays and fuses and good. DLC pin 4 & 5 are grounds and 6 & 14 gave me 60 ohms. I am thinking there is a similar short

      I have high voltage on the canbus over 8 volts with no comms to my scan tool on a 2010 tahoe. I unplug the abs module, voltage stabilizes to 2.5v, tool connects and vehicle starts and runs normal. Different abs module installed (yeah i thought i had a home run, not) and the exact same issue when plugged back in? What could induce voltage on the can network when the abs is plugged in that's not the abs module? Could another module or wire down stream be affecting the abs module plug / unplugging? Wiring looks great to the abs.
      Super awesome video by the way, love your way of diagnosing systematically like this!

    • @BustedtoBuilt
      @BustedtoBuilt  Před 4 měsíci

      Yes a would tend to believe there is a module or wiring issue down the line from abs. You should be able to jump the can wires at the abs module (module unplugged) to connect the rest of the can circuit and if it still comes up to 8 volts the problem will be elsewhere and you can continue diagnosis

    • @kickford
      @kickford Před 4 měsíci

      Yeah it ended up being the suspension module down stream of the abs. I had to jump the can bus in to out so it would still connect to the end resistor. No suspension module now. Going to delete that horrible air ride system anyway. Runs great now.

    Just an update, my test for short to ground turned up the high speed GMLAN (+) pin 6 showed up at the chassis control module. High speed GMLAN (-) pin 6 grounded between BCM and CCM both modules disconnected. Also ground blue wire and white wire (isolated from CCM) led me to the left wheel well where a past caught on fire wire connector and park brake control module once lived which had burnt a hole in the wheel well fender plastic barrier. 😂. This car has evidence of a lightning strike during what appeared to be a bad hail storm. 😢 Or a crossed battery jump start. 300amp fuse is blown and temporarily bridged. 😮

  • @vanessahumphrey-ghazi8342

    I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 4.8 engine with almost 600,000 miles on it (original engine), and of course, it's had some issues over the years. I run hotshot for the oil and gas industry. I've been driving this truck for over 13 years. Most issues are minor and don't cost much to fix. For the last few years, the security light flashes and stays on most of the time. It seems to happen whenever I hit a bump or when I'm driving on particularly bad roads. The seat belt light starts flashing also as if I'm not wearing one. Last Friday, while I was waiting to be loaded at a warehouse, I turned the truck off. When I went to start it, no dash lights, no sound, no nothing. The lights and horn work. One guy went under the truck and tested the starter. It worked but didn't turn over. I did the security reset move, but I don't think I did it correctly and still was dead at the ignition. I had it towed to my mechanic, and they replaced some fuses. It worked, but when I went to go to work a couple of days later, it made a sound that I've never heard before, like air being moved through a hose or something. It stopped, and I went on to work. I shut it off to go into the office to get paperwork and tried to start it. Same thing happened, dead at the key turn. I kept trying and the media panel dimly flashed and it was trying to turn over. I had to do it a few times, and it finally started. I didn't dare turn it off! I had to leave work and took it to a business that works on electrical issues. They wanted $250 just to check it out but couldn't do anything until after the 4th of July. I told them "bye" and took the truck home. Once I got it parked, I shut it off, and it is dead again. I desperately need to work, and driving is the best job for me. It pays very well, and I'm a slightly disabled senior citizen. If there is something I can do to get my truck running again, it will be a blessing. Any info you can give will be greatly appreciated.

      It's the vat system there is a plug on the ignition switch once you take the cover off the steering colum you'll see a plug well that plug fits to lose that's why It cut out when you bumped take the yellow and brown or red wires together and you just bypass the security vat . But you have to still do the key relearn , there's videos for that too

    I do not get any codes on my code reader. What is wrong?
    Will not crank, fuel has pressure, all lights work. Key will not send positive to crank wire.

      If you jump power to the s terminal on the starter will it start? Are you using a tool that can read all the modules or only ecm?

      Have to figure out why you have no communication. Either lines open shorted or grounded

      I got a 2007 2500hd Z71 6L for 2200$ and it had the dash lights come on but no start. I purchased the truck anyways and towed it to my house. The guy who had it had it stored all winter then when it didn't start he replaced the battery but still nothing, no dome lights, head lights or cranking. I ran a wire to the starter and positive fuse and it was cranking but no start. Then I thought about that onstar system that was in it. I Pulled fuse 47 or 48.. (I forget) and put it back in and just like that it started.

    Maybe I’m confused, when touch the data port with the test light? You had 12 volts with the meter. Why wouldn’t it light up? Guess what I’m saying is you expected it to light up so why does that prove it short to ground?

    • @BustedtoBuilt
      @BustedtoBuilt  Před rokem +1

      Not sure where the confusion is coming from, after showing battery voltage on the meter, the test light did light up. The light was connected to b+ so when I probe pin 1 and the light lit up we know it's a short to ground

    • @TheSpeeddriven
      @TheSpeeddriven Před rokem

      So the meter shows 11.92 volts.
      That’s pin 1, negative lead
      Pin 16, positive lead.
      Test light clamped to pin 1 , light to pin 16. So 12 volts.
      Is pin 1 not a ground to begin with? So I would expect it to ground and the light come on. Maybe I’m over thinking it. Sorry.
      I’m at the same problem. Besides the I got power on most every pin in the junction block?
      And outta know where the shifter doesn’t need the brake depressed to get it outta park? Still locks when the key is removed with steering.

    • @BustedtoBuilt
      @BustedtoBuilt  Před rokem

      Correct pin1 should not be grounded, that is the short to ground. pins 4 and 5 are ground and 16 is b+. Pin 1 is everything on the low speed network, with it shorted the modules on that network can not communicate. Hth
