Screamin Jay Hawkins did the original while drunk, and dressed like a voodoo doctor.
That's the way I got married.
This is one of the best versions of this song. CCR has always been one of my favorites. John Fogerty has one of the most unique & recognizable voices around. They don't have a bad song! Huge list of hits! "Proud Mary", "Fortunate Son", "Down On The Corner", "Green River", "The Midnight Special", "Susie Q", "Born On The Bayou", "Travelin' Band", "Run Through The Jungle", "Long As I Can See the Light", "Sweet Hitchhiker", "Bad Moon Rising" etc.
yes- all of the above
The original was done by Screaming Jay Hawkins. Nina Simone also did a great version. I prefer CCR. GREAT CHOICE AND REACTION.
CCR is such a great band this song is like being on a trip! Totally 🔥🔥
CCR is one of the greatest bands that ever existed ❤ everyone I knew loved CCR
Psychedelic Rock at its best!!!🎵🎼🎶🎤🎹🥁🎸🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘
My fave CCR song, & the best version of this old blues classic EVER. Lead singer John Fogerty on that awesome guitar solo. Thanks for your reaction.
They were putting a spell on you with the camara work.hehehe
This song, along with "Born on the Bayou, and maybe "Suzi Q." are their top three in literally 100s of great songs by this iconic Band from Northern California, and the late 60s.
"John Fogerty sure good sing the Blues!" His voice was so expressive with this track; better than many others with his style of blues, harkening back to the forgotten past when singers and musicians sat around on a old wooden porch making music, keeping company with the frogs and crickets and all the sounds of the night.
Edit: AB, did you see yourself on Sky News Australia? They show, as a newscast, the many reactions to Oliver's "Rich Men", and you're one of those reactors they include! Good for you! I'm proud to be a Subscriber!
Always a great night when there is CCR music and your reactions! Thank you.
😂" pick a face - I'm getting dizzy!" 😂 Love this song!
My favorite version of this song 🎵 ❤️ 💕. In my opinion it is the best.
Love your reaction 😂😂😂😂
CCR don’t miss. Everything they do is 🔥🔥🔥loved your reaction! Congrats to you on 99.8 subs! 100k will be soon!!
Screamin Jay Hawkins for Halloween, he sings like a raving lunatic; but yeah CCR with the best version of this song.
There's a live version, filmed at Woodstock. Much better, imo
Your don't get better! Feel great band no matter if they're playin the blues or not. Makes me HAPPY every time! PLEASE DO "BAD MOON RISING" love you AB ms thanks again for great video.
Same song, original. Psychedelic Era. Lol '60s.
This is a cover of Screamin' Jay Hawkins Blues song of the late 50s. Both versions are great, but I think CCR sort of owns this song now.
This is quite a bit earlier than the 80s, lol. Not only do I love this song, there is so much to like on that first CCR album. For some more fantastic guitar playing and just absolutely a great groove and a vocal with a ton of swag and hilarious lyrics, check out Penthouse Pauper.
CCR is amazing. Have You Ever Seen the Rain and Down On the Corner are my favorites. John Fogerty (the singer) wrote the original Proud Mary and then Tina Turner kicked it up a notch.
OMG I am so excited when I saw this !!! More CCR !!! Yessss Great reaction- When you were ready to vomit was great !! LOL
CCR is one of my classic rock go-to's.
You're about to hit 100K! Congrats! You deserve it. I can't remember if you've done Riders on the Storm by the Doors. Your catalog is endless! So I'll just throw it out there.
WOW! 100K is on the way! CONGRATULATIONS AB!☮️
CCR was the perfect stoner music in my 70s teenage life 😅
Omg I love your expressions! ❤️
Loooooveeee CCR!!!! Thanks for your reaction
Favorite CCR. OH HECK they’re all my favorites
They were obviously trying to make some kind of video for this. CCR is older than MTV and music videos, lol!
I just checked, and according to Google the album this was on came out in '68.
Ha, the album came out when I was born! But these guys are great!!😁
I was in high school. Had no idea then that old woman me would still be listening to music like this.
This is a rare song where its better to watch a live performance. They played this song at Woodstock and crushed it of course. That performance is probanly heard/viewed about as often as this one.
CCR is easily top ten...and yes a great song to listen to on acid!
Don't look just listen! It might help with the dizziness!! 😉You're under a spell! 😊
That was a psychedelic video, there are other video where it shows them playing their instruments. John Fogerty is a killer singer and lead guitarist, one of the best. Along with SRV ❤
just like the light show at the fillmore west
Pretty sweet!!!!! So says Austin Tx!!!! 😎🍸
You have got to hear as long as I can see the light from them it’s a WOW song
The video is psychedelic, 😆 Kind of mesmerizing, 😂!! 😎 😎 🤩😵💫 Love the reaction!👍👍👏👏
Annie Lenox video version of this song is crazy amazing !! She’s the you know what !! ❤you should react !
top line
You are my favorite! Love this.
❤️CCR😊✌️
Born on the Bayou next? Please ❤️
I’m here to tell ya…Traveling Band is their greatest song to me.
CCR’s version and Miss Nina are my two favorite versions
Omg, you are killing me😂😂😂😂😂
They put A spell on You
Love your reaction!❤
CCR delivered every time.
One of the many bands that answered back to the British Invasion.
If you listen to the long version of Heard it Through the Grapevine you won't be disappointed. Long version should be like 11 minutes.
✌️ 🤠🏞️🐂
I felt the same way lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Please do some Fleetwood Mac!! Break The Chain
Yeah man totally an acid trip video if there ever was one!!!! Welcome to the late 60’s and 70’s hombre!!!!! Purple Micro Dot and Window Pane ruled the day!!!!! Just saying!!!!! 🎸🎸🎸🎸
I think this was recorded in 1969, and looking back at the styles of the time can take a minute to get used to. I’m old enough to have lived through it, and it can seem very unorthodox by today's standards. I guess every era is stamped by how it rolls?
Imagine being on shrooms watching this video!
I also like Nina’s best, but the Screamin’ Jay Hawkins is a must for any Halloween party
tis the psychedelic era... thus the trippy video effects.
Hi my friend you are great showing all these songs but I'm 71 and I'm hoping you show some of these songs from musicals and I can guarantee you will pick up so many people on your subscribe list. Trust me. Start with the movie the sound of music watch it then pick out the songs you think ill work(start out with My favorite things) My Fair Lady same thing these walked away with tons of Oscars. Also watch some of the musicals of the 40s,50s,and 60s. One of my favorites is Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Good luck you are on the right path. Open up to these because I constantly check on reactions and nobody is doing this. Also any of the Old Disney movies. Keep it up you bring hope for me because you are young can keep these treasures going in the hearts and minds.
You should react to free bird by lynyrd skynyrd. I think you would love it.
Hello AB, I'm so glad you're enjoying listening to "CCR" Here's another song by them, if interested. "Creedence Clearwater Revival - Cotton Fields" (by the channel: Creedence Clearwater Revival) Audio version is the best quality. I always love watching your reactions, AB. Thanks 4 sharing.
Listen to Susie Q next!!
Sure picked a bad time to stop doing acid
CCR version is great. Nina Simone’s is better. Joe Cocker’s was best IMO.
naaaaaaaa not good
