I think the saddest thing about mental illness is the feeling of desperation. So many people turn to drugs and alcohol to modify their manic thoughts and emotions. Once they experience the high, they associate that with happiness. They feel "normal." They keep chasing that feeling through substances. The reality is, feelings of fear, sadness, anxiety, and anger are all "normal." We ALL need to find ways to manage them. Some people may need medication. Some of us just learn to use our minds to remain calm and stay in control. It's hard work but it builds mental strength. The brain is the most powerful part of the body. More powerful than muscle. The mind controls the body❤

UN FKN BELIEVABLY AMAZING PERFORMANCE. I had no idea JLC was this good. So many layers to what is great about this. Just wow. As an actor (small time, comparitively speaking, but I do know the craft), I can say that this is Oscar worthy work. Or at least SAG Awards (since Oscars are for movies...) Amazing.

DARVO stands for Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim & Offender.
It's a tactic abusive people use to gaslight (not just lying about something - actually making you question reality and your interpretation of it) their victims.
When you set a boundary or point out some way in which they're mistreating you, they will:
    1. Deny they did it. "No, that didn't happen. It's not true."
    2. Attack you for pointing out their wrongdoings. "Stop lying. You're such a liar. No-one can trust anything you say."
    3. Recast themselves as the victim and their actual victim as the offender. "I can't believe you're doing this to me. Why are you always so difficult/cruel? It's so hard being your [insert relation], we always have to tiptoe around you because we're afraid you're going to blow up and start yelling at us."
It's a calculated technique to gaslight you into shutting up and staying quiet so they can continue to abuse you.
I hope this helps someone suffering through an abusive relationship, or maybe spot abusive people in their own life they didn't realise were abusive.
