I am 56 years old and I placed 12th place at Unadilla J-day in the Super senior class on my 1984 cr250r I built from scratch out of used parts..I have a deep passion like you said,and so much of my time and years of experience..I love to ride,and I love the sport..I race J-day enduros..I started riding when i was 4 years old..I will never give up..Everytime I ride,i learn something new.Thanks Mr.Hughes.I love watchin your shows..seen em all twice or more.Very informative,and I listen to what you say,and it has helped me alot,and my riding has improved considerably..Thankyou sir..
Great points Ryno. Bigger purses are good for the riders and fans. Also they need to promote the races better. The local stock show or antique show gets more publicity.
You asked what it's like to be passed by a top level rider. I'm from southwest Mississippi, and have been passed by K-Dub. You always know it's him behind you because the bike doesn't shut off. When he blows by you, it is amazing. You can watch him run into a turn, and how fast he can run through it. To me it isn't demoralizing. It's something that I treasure, because I get to be on the same track with someone at that level.

The middle of the pack and the last place guys at a pro national are the best of the best, anyone reading this have probably been on a track with the guy who finished last at a national, they are the Eli Tomac's at the local track.

Ryan, i grew up in your era. Gen-x mx was fantastic. Love your thoughts. Love your show. Love your passion. The sport needs a new sanctioning body. It needs a leader like you at the top. President of mx operations. Ryno! Get rid of the gnarly woops in SX. Get rid of rutted faces on SX jumps. Get rid of factory bikes. Get rid of factory teams. Get a pension fund started for the pros. Get more corporations into the sport.
Interesting stuff. It is also a weakness to act like an authority on things one clearly is not. Having a big ego is one thing, it is another thing if it is in charge of you or not.

@@jpesicka999 I very much respect his opinions on motocross. It’s when he ventures out and makes bold claims about things that he clearly is not well educated or experienced with that I find unfortunate.
I dig Ryno also. The guy is "True Grit". But he gets mystical sometimes, (I say it is the hippy bit in him), and figuring out reality for our choices is the best way to live.

There needs to be a Motocross draft or something to get people hyped up for the next talents. Amateur motocross has really changed , lots of those top guys are burned out by 18 years old.

7 concussions for me = permanent constant headaches and very loud constant ringing of ears. Truth is I ride fast as always I love it. I don't hurt then. Go figure.

Isle of Man TT race is only 10 days per year and there are an average of two deaths per year.
Every sport is dangerous. Did you ever see Paul Kariya “off the floor on the board” hockey goal? He got KO’d from a hit but returned to the game and scored. Years later he did an interview he doesn’t have any memory within 2 weeks of the hit. Lots of hockey players have died from CTE and TBI’s. But athletes CHOOSE to take the risks to get paid to do what they love. If you want to be safe you gotta get a desk job.

7:50 just because someone hasn’t died in the UFC doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen in MMA. Fighters have died in the cage, as have boxers and kickboxers. We lost a Bare Knuckle fighter to death in the ring not even long ago. Justin Thornton.
Take away A2 from the SX schedule and make it the first race of the SMX playoffs, making it 4 rounds of playoffs. This will add more hype and prestige to A2 which typically doesn’t have the level of hype as A1 and bolster the playoff schedule.

Amateur motocross needs a complete overhaul. Imo it is borderline child abuse. Reminds me of Child stars in Hollywood. The parents leech off them and the kids realize they had no childhood when they grow up. Star Racing is basically a puppy mill.

Hey Ryan, I like your trainer bike on the stand vids. Why would you put down someone's faith? Why would you attack the Son of God? Who are you to say ANYTHING along those lines. We all need and desire a moral compass. God is Holy. I don't know if you can comprehend that. Someone in the one of the gospels called Jesus good Master, he said why do you call me good? There is only one good Master and that is the Father. Call no man Father but God. He is, I am that I am. Why should someone get saved by Father's gift of His only son? To avoid the judgement of God that's why. Jesus is the Destroyer of Gods.
