  • This is my third year using a domestic lawn tractor made by Mountfield 1530M. A relaxing video showing how i cut this rough field grass by discharging the grass out the back on the mower.

Nice seeing Charlies artwork on the bulkhead. We have a charlie here too! Love the slowmo of the mower shooting grass out the back end :)

One of my first mowers was a Viking similar to yours there and I used to do that with the chute at times. Good video mate. Plenty growth on there.

Chris nice job but allowing grass to shoot out of that opening is dangerous I come with a "slight deflector down so if a branch wire piece of stone or concrete won't fly

Something I hadn't thought about tbh. It's a very open ground with no one about bit your totally right 👍

Thanks for putting together Chris. I'm at a cross roads, looking to invest in my first 'used' garden tractor. I already have strimmer, mower, blower, chainsaw, henchman ladders, seed distributer, wolf tools. Never used a garden tractor, so not sure how much ill use one and other than mowing what functions I'll use (possibly the trailer). What's your experience? Predominantly garden maintenance, would you advise any other gear first?

Mountfield appears to be an entry brand, any feedback on it. Seen some Stiga

It's done everything I've asked from it tbh. It's very much a entry brand and not made for hard commercial work. I use it three times a week like this and collecting. For the price (I've had from new) it's well paid for itself. A bonus it fits in the van.
From my understanding mountfield and stiga are the same company so likely very similar tools.
Regarding getting one, I'd only buy one if you have the use for it and it'll pay for itself. Nothing worse than having tools not earning you money.
As with any tool I'd say you can't over expect doe the price range. It will do most things I've checked at it, maybe just a little slower and I have to go a little more gentle.
      Hope that helps 👍
