I always feel utterly shocked and filled with wonder when I sing that line. Love it! Hallelujah, what a Saviour!
I was raised in the Open Plymouth Brethren and every Sunday before church we'd have the Lord's Supper - and we would sing this song without instruments, slowly, reverently, like Celtic Worship did, and I used to be in awe of the words for they brought home the full power of what Christ did on the cross for us. They have never left me and gave me strength throughout the years long after I had moved away. You are right, we NEED to bring these cherished old hymns back, for they bring the message of the gospel as well as praise, so poignantly - without vain repetitions. Deeply powerful. Deeply spiritual. Deeply reverend. "Bearing shame and scoffing rude, in my place condemned He stood - sealed my pardon with His blood - Hallelujah - What a Savior!" I cry every time.

I attached to my cat more than my family.. But i lost it. It was killed by dogs.. Jesus protected the cat for two years,but this time he said no..and revealing his nature in this suffering...praise Jesus.. Thank you..Amen

The King of Glory, The LORD of Hosts, became the man of sorrows. The One who commanded angels and galaxies walked among us. He lived among us in humility, compassion, and lovingkindness. And how did we treat Him in return? Ultimately with mocking, beating, spitting, scorn, and the torturous death of crucifixion.
