What colour are we painting the valve cover? 🤔
Silver or flat black
Purple with yellow and white dtac written on it same as the livery
Ok hear me out. Get a flappy disk and grind a texture in the valve cover it'll make it look really cool when you paint over it
surely wrinkle red
Polished chrome 😅
Yew!!! So good. Purple and gold valve cover to pay homage to the old shell 🤙
Ooft this isn’t a bad idea 🤔
Engine bay came up amazing! Yew keen as 👌🏻
Trust the process is something that ive learned to like! Inspiring content as allways Mike, keep up! cheers
Just here to look at this dreamy character 😍😍😍
Don’t you start ya bloody hunk of a guy 🥰
Looking mint already can’t wait to see this battling Ridley with his new look
Cheers! Ridleys looks fricken insane aye…LOVE it!
@@itsmikelake I love the colours and style he did it looks amazing honestly can’t wait to see it in person
Nice work as always!!! The screws for the stearing rack need to get flipped. the nut is on top. if you mount the engine you wont get the screws out now! =) greetings from germany
Cheers! Boom, I’ll flip them. Love how I’m still constantly learning things about these cars 🤣👊🏻
Can't wait to see it out on track!
That power washer though 😳 That was insane 😂
Right?! I put that fitting on when I first got it and was like 🤯. Crazy
Dude coming along great 👍
Thanks bro! Wide body should change the look of the whole thing 😁
@@itsmikelake I cannot wait to see what kit you went for. Also what I did to mine is flock the dash to get rid of the glare coming off it (it also makes it look more racecar)
Definitely need to paint the valve cover the same colour as the car is going to be will tie it all in nicely
Was thinking that. A nice candy pink to candy purple fade 🤔. Ooohhh I mean…nothing 😜
Nice one man, looks good. I have an e36 328 coupe I’ve just manual swapped here in Dunedin.
Have you ever looked into running an e46 steering rack? Meant to be much better.
Also keen to see your true coilover rear setup and what you’ve done to run it. Just the doubler plates ontop of the rear strut towers?
Looking forward to the next one.
Hey Pat! Cool to hear e36s are being built at home in NZ too. With our lock kits, the purple tag steering rack is kind of unneeded as it increases steering speed by like 20%+ anyways. I like stock rack 😁. I’ll do an in depth video on the true coilover setup next week ish 🤙🏻
I came here for the Prado build now I have watched a heap of vids. I was also thinking how much it hurts my soul watching you use rattle cans with your thumb, then you mentioned it… haha.
Thanks Stu! Haha, look I must admit I’m a strange individual 🤣. But the thumb just feels right
Im also am thumb guy! Also invest in a cheep plasma cutter from amazon. By far the best $145 ive ever spent!
Those steering rack bolts will be interesting to get out with the motor in up that way haha
I’ve realised my error there 😅
Great work. Awesome content, love the enthusiasm. Keep up the progress.
Cheers Byron 🤙🏻 ya legend
I know it’s that common that it could just go unsaid, but I gotta ask anyway…
Did ya weld some plates onto the chassis to reinforce it where the rear subframe mounts?
Usually they rip the metal, even with stock engine and rubber bushes when you clutch kick it too much.
Sure did! Absolutely a must do for these chassis I agree!
Bro been waiting on this vid!!!
Thanks for supporting homie!
@@itsmikelake I would love to collaborate one day with ya I’ve started a yt channel :)
@@davidmyalik Keep pushing hard bro. YT is a hard slog but enjoyable none the less!
Yewww
😁🤙🏻
nice bro! some good progress :)
should have gone with those E90 rear sub bolts though
not the 36 pins of woe
Ohhhh please enlighten me!! I don’t know of this mod 🤔
@@itsmikelake those rear subframe pins.. front most ones
You can replace the pin of woe with a bolt like the rears bushes
The E90 subframe bolt is perfect fit
Or can use another bolt same spec and ditch those pins
1makes easier to look at rear end and remove after a tap as pins don't bend
2 helps the front sub bushes sit better to the chassis, not sat on head of the pin
3 the sub can sit even closer to chassis to correct that diff rake
I did mention this on your other vid
But I guess I'm just a random on the internet lol
Carry on the good work bro
Il be watching 👍 I enjoy ya vids
Is a good mod when doing polys
And just general for street cars
Good for track stuff though as above
Edit:-
The channel is RC drifting vids lol
But E36s are what I do daily lol
Just so you don't think I'm some internet crank lol 👍
@@phibin777 Yesss this info is so helpful thanks bro! Weird that I never saw the comment previously. My bad! I'm constantly learning with this stuff haha
@@itsmikelake its cool bro
bet you get 100s of randomers commenting lol
im enjoying ya vids though :)
mostly the e36 stuff lol but the fevo vids are cool to watch too
keep up the good work !
@@itsmikelake bro!! i have you and Jordan to thank for this :)

Take out the steering rack bolts and put them from the bottom! otherwise you will have to lift the engine to change the rack.
100% will do this thanks bro 🥰
Dam you're going to beat me reshelling my e36 track car, rear frame rails are kinked :/
I feel your pain bro. Get to work 🤣
Great progress as always Mike love what you do ❤ have you got camber arms for the rear uppers also?
Thanks Boris! Appreciate the love 😁
looking sick!!! and the datsun color is TITS!!
Yeww thank you bro! Pumped on the Datsun aye 😁
