I ordered x3 3 weeks ago, but returned it, bcs it had bad quality. X4 came out, watched all the sponsored videos, was hyped again. Now I can see theres not really much of an upgrade?! I think i will not buy anything now haha.. 600 eur for this is too much imo.
It's definitely a big upgrade from the x3 if you do shorts/ vertical because you can crop vertical in 4k now instead of it looking like an iPhone 10

finally some did a NON-paid honest review WITH the ONE RS one Inch, and the X4. been waiting on this one, for last week.
Hmmm I’m torn between the 1” es and the x4. I mainly care about pure image quality. What’s your opinion on which one looks the absolute best in 360 video
X4, I personally prioritize resolution past depth because when posting online, the algo and as well as people usually skip more on lower resolution. And I hate seeing pixels
Hmmm. The part where you were showing all 3 cameras was one of the best x3 x4 comparisons I have seen, but the x4 looked kind of out of focus. Did you have the lens guards fitted? Did you label the footage correctly? (sorry..). It just doesn't seem to reflect the higher resolution of the new camera.
There was a zoom part of the video I can re-upload a longer one with no zoom. These likes a wide a dewarp setting that sometime accidentally get turned on
@@plantakeovertheworld it must be very hard to get the same FOV and other settings identical across the 3 cameras. A tough job for a reviewer!
@Ozpeter I'm not a camera guy, most of what I know I just made up. But from my assumption they all have the same for as it's a 360 camera but what inprises is the resolution, stabilization, and stitching. Stitching may be model specific because of sizes of cameras and I doubt they still work on x2 stitching. Resolution on this camera is way better though
Oh and yea they all camera from differnt SD cards, no lense guards. And its kind a hard to tell all split up. If you look at my shorts though, the newest one is with the x4 and it actually let me crop down to vertical 4k

Wdym, the 1 inch records in 6k, on mobile can you not do 6k? Iv never tried anything but my Mac. And yea the one give more depth but idk, I'd rather have the 8k for cropping into shorts
@@plantakeovertheworld I must have misunderstood what you said on the 6K. 🙄 No, I have the X2 and am deciding between 1 inch and X4. I record in 360 primarily and edit from that. (No single, Me mode, etc) I am after quality on a 4K export. Who wins? 8K edit on X4 and 6K on 1 inch exported to 4K 16 by 9. Which one do you think? Thanks for the reply btw
@@DanFarrar you can bump the 1inch to like 2.5k 16:9 but I think it's more of a use case scenario. If you want to record at night, and the weight of the camera doesn't matter go one inch, there's like no need to upload 4k to you tube rn, morlst peoples computers cant even buffer the resolution in time. But if your doing cropping, or mounting it to a person or something the x4 is better. The x4 weight alot less and those pixels really help the footage compete with the iPhone 4k cameras. I'll prob be using the x4 90 percent of the time now. Low light shmo light you can't see anything anyway and no one wants to watch dark footage

The 1 inch better in low light interiors and exteriors. The X4 just a little better resolution because 8 k but not really a huge difference. X4 is waterproof to 10 meters and is less expensive
At 10:28, precise the problem I have. Why are the road signs grey with the X4. X3 and RS better contrast and white signs!!!!. All my X4 footage is not sharp, low contrast and blurry. Why?
Maybe the colors coding needs updates? Or the stiching. That's my best guess cuz the vertical came out great
There was a guy compared those two camerad and the footage of the x3 looked dull. But if you pull the videos of the x3 release on his channel the videos looked so much better then in the comparison. But he said the footage was not edited and come straight from the camera. Those sponsored videos are made to bias people and make them buy the product. The creaters have a roadmap to show the product on sponsored trips (so not the product/video is sponsored but the trip only).
Currently i miss the real honest comparison between thise two cameras. 8k is nice but eats battery, storage and let cams overheat. Most people look the footage only. somehow compresst or on small screen. Or have to save data on their mobile contract. Action cams are made to catch the moment. Not every single detail around. Also lots of the equipment has to be replaced. Lensguards, spare batterys, cases etc. Put this in perspective and calculate if its worth to have a few more details in video nobody cares about on the internet.
For professional use maybe its athing because the camera is a tool. But for hobby makes not that much of an impact i think.
The X3 is a phantastic piece of cam and its not that necessary to be replaced by the X4. Maybe if you are using an older X2 or so it could be ur deal.
ProRes… Hardcore, man ;-) I thought me using h.265 and 200 Mbps was extreme. I am humbled :) Good info there with the file sizes. At 10:21 the X4 really looks to be the worse of the three.
We live in magical times when you can hand hold a camera and get smooth-as-silk motion out of it.
Haha I figure if it's gonna be there for ever might as well. And I was seeing something about the compression being better for pixel mistakes when compressed and then unzipped again and idk how you tube keeps their files so I thought it would last longer in better quality. Cuz we don't know but maybe with all the compression over 40 years the files will start to look like old sun burnt film. You'd have to sort through to find the best version or hope your hdd with the orginal didn't fail yet and they have maybe 10 years before it's kinda suss. So I just wipe final cut every video or two with a 1tb ssd
@@plantakeovertheworld Did you upload ProRes to CZcams? You can go and retrieve all your files, and CZcams does keep the original file you upload. I pulled copies of hundreds of my videos down a year or two ago and was surprised they retained the originals.
@allenhuffman yea I have all the originals, but like under 10 years shouldn't make a difference. I'm planning like 40+ plus years out after they have swapped data centers and where and how we store data 80 times. Idk just future proofing the files the best I can
@@plantakeovertheworld Smartt move as long as you have the storage. I had two Drobos each either er 5 6TB drives in them, full of archives digital video, photos, etc. Now that I’m shooting 360, every trip I come back with way more of that than I ever did with my old HD camcorders. Gonna be interesting to see what storage solutions we end up with in ten years. We really need to get Google and Apple to build in 360 support in their phones. Once that happens…
@allenhuffman so I made a social media app for the vision pro that you can upload 360 stuff to and share with people. But not everyone has a vision yet
Also it's weird, the 360 footage is more compressed before hand and once you bump to 4k it gets huge. Iv really only just started to film alot but I was in on this project called chia where you mine crypto but with hard drives... so I have 500+ terabytes so I'm even double backing up everything to two separate drives

Like turn off the screen? What do you mean mirror image?
Like when the camera is pointing towards me it is mirrored
When you take a selfie it showed show the original but my face is mirrored so left side is right
@hussaindawrey5842 you can flip it in post, I'm guessing it's just how the lense is set up. Maybe if you try the other lense it will come out normal? Haha maybe an oversight on there part that can be fixed with software or there's a setting somewhere that we don't know about

No I ordered on amazon at 9am and it showed up the next day. I saw like 30 videos where they already had the camera so I had to make a non sponsored review. But strait up I love the cameras

I am not skeptical of “not sponsored” reviews now that I realize that’s what many of them are. Just like I don’t trust “HONEST REVIEW” reviews ;-) I mean, if you don’t put that, am I supposed so assume it’s a lie?

Lol yea im not a heavy camera guy, I just thought it was sick and like the 4k vertical cropping. Camera enthusiasts have been teaching me alot via comments and stuff
