  • This is the third part of a multi part series that shows the construction process of the 2 player pinball machine. It's a game where 2 players will duel sending marbles over the hill to their opponents side. Each player starts with 5 marbles and can decide when to bring them into play. This will be a really fun machine to play with family and friends. The machine will be themed to Game of Thrones and challenge the players in a game of Ice vs Fire. In this video, I sketch the layout onto the playing surface and cut the holes for the tunnels. I also finish building the main framework by attaching the end pieces. I can't wait to see how this project will turn out! Follow along as I build this machine!

Always cut the wood and playfield with a router. Use a FLUSH CUTTING bit and a known good straight edge. The edges will be incredibly straight and smooth and the project will look more professional as joints will mate flawlessly.

Looks cool but I feel like the flipper is really small and I don't know if it would give you enough leverage to get to the other side

I cringe every time you use the table saw without a rip fence or crosscut sled/miter gauge, but it's your shop and your workspace - keep on keepin' on. Can't wait for part 4 thru 15 =)

Hey Ben you can use a raspberry pi or arduino to connect a LCD screen to display the winner of each round and calculate the winner of the mach by using a few sensors and doing a bit of programming that is all thank you.

Ben doesn't seem to have every piece of kit either... You can do a lot without professional tools. Oh, and Ben: Not trying to join the 'safety police' here, but freehanding cuts on a table saw is a bit iffy, you might want to make a simple 10-minute crosscut sled :)

I'm a bit worried about the physics here. Firstly you raised the slope, and now the flippers have been made shorter. I would make sure (very soon) that you actually can get the ball to make the shots you want, because these shots not being doable would be a serious downer on the table's play.
