Absolutely a wonderful restoration. I would put a speaker near the sound hole and turn the bass up, and have it play for a week. This will bring back the tone by loosening up everything. Once the finish cures, that guitar will open up and be even better. It will take longer just playing the guitar.

At 4:04 it is the other side of the saw that is made to saw along the grain. It is far quicker but less precise. You must be doing that way on purpose. Very well done insert I wouldn't have had that idea because of the possibility of taking off the fretboard for an adjustment of the action. But it must still be possible to unglue all this in a hypothetical future if needed. As always, great job !

I once heard a quote from a worker at Martin Guitars say... When you buy one of our guitars, this will be the worst it will ever sound. The more you play it, more of the microscopic pores in the wood will be opened up to give a more full and beautiful sound from the guitar.

Amazing! I love seeing her draw grain in the wood. I use a sharp point sharpy...draw the grain and smug it with my finger within a few seconds....her method looks better...you get the feel of grain! I got to be careful with the first coat of poly or whatever finish or it will remove the marks....then do it again until I get many coats to protect the sharpy marks. This is a master class on drawing grain in wood.

Thoroughly impressed by everything I saw you do. I play guitar although I have never worked on one. Watching in Mechanicsville, VA. USA

Tip. Use old bicycle inner tube over the ends of the rasps. I also use it to cover the rasps in storage.

I loved every minute of watching this restoration. Fascinating to observe the problem-solving process in action and the tremendous woodworking skills it requires. Hard to believe such a complete repair was even possible, but there's a beautiful, warm-sounding Martin Classical at the end there to prove it. Thank you Tanya - a real pleasure to watch you work as always.
