And I basically answer any and all questions any eBay resellers may have who are looking to grow their eBay business!
First off, everyone needs a bin full of gloves if the price is right. Second, when Thom said how much food do you need, you should've said "You kept finding donuts, I didnt" 😂🤣
Ha ha
Every store Tom is on a mission 😂
Yep. He means business! That’s why he’s the number 1 used media seller in eBay AU.
Thom took the half donut so that you could have the full one, that's love right there
❤
I've decided I want to be Thom, 11 warehouses, 2 step stools and all
Ha ha
I want to be Thom. Thom gets Mel. You mean? 🤣
Really liked the ride along in the car !
Wish I could get a VW truck in the US. Nice.
11 where house ? 😮 You kidding.
Just paused the video to say how much I hate books sorted by colour!! It’s so stupid. It tells me you don’t actually read books you just have them for the aesthetic.
But great video Mel! Thanks so much for sharing 😊
Agree. I think it’s someone who has OCD who sorts them like this. They look pretty but it’s so hard to see what you’re looking for.
I love going on your road trips too, Mel! Thanks for driving Thom! Thank you both for keeping me company while i work. 🥰
Thank you Dana! I love your channel also! You relax me xx
Love seeing bits of Australia and riding along on your road trips. :) 🇨🇦
Thank you for the feedback!
I absolutely love that you and Thom have the same passion.
Road Tripping with M & T are the best !
Thank you!
Adventures with Mel & Tom ... so fun ! AU is so beautiful btw !
It really is!
What a beautiful beach! Sydney is on my bucket list to visit (I live near Charlotte NC). One of these days!!! Love the road trip videos.
They didn’t have the tip shops back when I was growing up in the western suburbs of Sydney😮 I’ve been away for over 40 years now, it was so lovely to see all the gum trees again😃
That’s so cool! 40 years. Wow!
Such a fun day! Thanks for taking us along for the ride. I love seeing Tom in the thrifts. He is on a mission.
He knows exactly where he is going and what he wants lol
Beautiful country, thank you so much for taking us with you. I’m so happy you’re sharing your life with such a wonderful person. Looking forward to next video. Ann in Indiana USA
Thank you!
PTT post was previously the name of the Dutch postal company as well. The name changed into PostNL
Thank you
So interesting, thank you!
My man and I did at 3 week road trip from Washington State to Texas and back for the eclipse in April. We had a GREAT time, and we were still talking to each other when we got home, ha ha!
We love our road trips!
Yes, you needed those gloves with ALL those books you both sort through; definitely would buy all. There were some nice Bibles there too. That trolly and steps were good purchases and needed.
Yes! Thank you!
Wow that imax building was awesome !!
It’s so cool!
great road trip Mel, only Tom would go in somewhere like that and come out with a trolley and two steps brilliant , thanks for sharing
He loves to buy heavy duty trolleys lol
Love LOve LOVE seeing you two together doing what you love. You can see how happy you make each other and it’s fun to see you shine Mel! Much love ❤️
Thank you so much!! We are very happy ♥️
Don’t expect a ring soon 😂 @17:54
Dear Mel, The PTT Post, is not from Turkey, but from the Netherlands :-). I see part of the Dutch logo on there. It is very old, probably around the 80's-90's
Thank you
Wow our google research was wrong then! Still very cool it’s travelled so far and it’s a very sturdy heavy trolly!
The IMAX building was beautifully cool!
Isn’t it great! Such a cool looking piece of architecture!
Watching from Texas, you both are great
More of this please! Loved it
Thanks James, lots more coming ;)
That was a big! Tip shop 😮shame it was closing. Thanks Mel 😊
Yes it was! Thank you for watching!
I love that you bring us along on your adventures. I'll never get make it to Australia but at least I get to experience it a little bit through your videos. You guys had a full day. That beach was beautiful!!! It makes my eyes crazy too when they sort books by color. It's looks great, I get it....but it's a pain in the butt when you're trying to find sets.
That’s crazy on the cook books
Some of them yes. Nice books but too much to pay to resell them.
What a wonderful fun-filled day you had! Australia looks beautiful!
We do live in a beautiful country!
PTT POST is dutch!!! Is was our mail in the Netherlands in the 80's !❤
Thank you
I love your videos with Thom! They are fun to watch. Thank you!
Thank you! Another one coming in a few days!
Tom really ‘stepped’ up today.
😂
Haha of course the aussie tip-shop is bigger than most actual tips in the UK! 🤩
Ha ha
That was fun to watch.
I hate those roulette priced op shop, too. One near me has a price list that goes something like:
Hats $3-$9
Shirts $4-$15
Shoes $7 - $28
Like wtf?
They also put decent collectable figurines in the free bin???
I hate having to ask how much every book I’m interested in is. I have margins to meet and I like to calculate them in my head. My favourite stores are the ones who just do a flat rate pricing. Paperbacks one price. Hardcovers another. Makes it so much easier for me to shop and those are the stores I spend the most money in on a continuous basis.
Hello, new subscriber here. Love, love, love this video, it’s several years since I visited Sydney from England and this brought back so many lovely memories. Thank you🎉
What a fun shopping adventure.........with ice cream.
Yes! Nom nom!!
I love these road trips, so much fun. Nice I'm finally catching up on your videos, I've been busy. ❤❤
Hi Nana! Hope you’ve been well xx
I like to watch your videos, it gives me optimism :) watching you from Portugal.
What a fun outing!
Thank you!
@@backfromburnout I've been to the tip shop in Orange but it's not as clean and well lit as this one. Why would a tip shop have occasion to close?
Tip Shop is an Interesting concept. Sounds like a great idea!
It really is!
15:25 "You gotta be joking." He took the words right out of my mouth. I swear. I love a thrift store, but there was no thrift in that store! Dang!
There is a local library bookstore who overprices their books. One day I saw a book in there and I knew I could sell it for $14-$15. I looked it up for comps. I thought to myself, "I'll bet they're going to have it priced right at $15." But no! They had it priced for $35! And not only that, but they'd written that price in INK, ruining the otherwise okay condition book. Couldn't erase that $35. Even if I wanted to pay $35 for a $15 book. Some places are just crazy.
14:33 That IS distracting! Wow. I couldn't deal with that.
20:30 Thank you for letting me tag along on your road trip! That was fun!
Wow some big op shops on the Nthn Beaches. There used to be some good ones at Brookvale near Warringah Mall
Yes they do have some big ones. It’s a beautiful area but some of the books were pricy!
Really enjoyed this, Mel and Thom. Love your banter (and yes Thom, Mel was right about strapping down the steps 😂). Thanks for taking us along with you. ❤
He he
The beach and sunset was beautiful . I see you have road work, like we do here,never-ending! Loved the video Mel❤
Never ending road works. It was a beautiful beach, I enjoyed visiting such a lovely area of Sydney.
Great video! Enjoyed seeing your country! Thanks for sharing your adventure and knowledge!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Mel! That make for great merch, a sweatshirt that says 'No More Old Crap!' 😆
Ha Ha!
Or it's all "rubbish"
I have eaten many sausages on white bread. When we didn't have Hot Dog buns. Lol
It’s a very Australian thing to eat!
Oh I loved watching this you guys are amazing. We loved having you guys in the shop. It is still there just run by council now and not as good in my opinion lol
Where is the shop?
PTT post was from The Netherlands Mel.
Really! We got something different when we googled! Thom will be interested to read that!
Was just about to say this, it was before the changeover to TNT post I believe in Netherlands. Been some years ago 😅
PTT was short for post telefoon telegraaf. Post telephone telegraph.
Fun day! Thanks for sharing! I loved the beautiful sunset at the end. 😁
Thanks for watching!
What a great video. Loved seeing some of Sydney while you drove around too. Gotta love a good tip shop!
Thanks Gaye! We love our road trips!
What a fun day❤
Thank you!
You should take a small esky with snscks snd water on these road trips ....saves $$ and saves you looking for something reasonably priced toeat
PTT Post was from the netherlands I guess '80/'90 s
Thank you
😅😊 tom and his handy steep s .i think he need s a cheery picker mell. For christmas 😊
Lol
Loved this! Thanks for sharing!
Loved this video Mel, Sydney is my fav city and I never tire of seeing the landmarks!! It would be awesome if you did a tour of Canberra for us toooo (not asking much haha) I’m in WA so a bit far from everything - loved seeing the lighter side of Thom too! Keep up the great work Mel - I’m a bibliophile so watch for the books haha (and one day will sell off some!) 😃🥰🎉
Ill do some Canberra vlogs for you, we have some great thrift stores here :)
No tip shops like that near me, which is good as I would never get out
It’s definitely been a favourite of ours and we will miss the staff. Thom even offered a couple of them jobs to work for him.
❤❤❤. The beach and the sunset were so beautiful! Love when you post Mel!❤️❤️❤️
Lots of videos coming ♥️
It wasn't about the books - this time it was about the journey.
So fun! The face we get to do fun trips hunting for books is the best part of this job.
@@backfromburnout true, don't tell Tom there are DVD's and CD's at book fairs too
Love your sense of humour Mel!
Thank you x
Thos shop s are. Great. Cas thay. Saveing. Good. Stuff crom going in the ground 😊.
Yes they are!
That “sounds” like a Goodwill with the donation and the store attached but the Goodwill will make you pay every limb you have to get any sort of deal around here LOL
Similar to goodwill!
too funny, the step is a stool and the sausage is a brat. Love the difference in language
Lol
You get more money for books in australia than the US
Sometimes but I do know eBay book sellers in US making hundreds of thousands a year selling used books. You just have to comp the ones selling for the higher profits in your area.
On Tuesday i dropped in a lifeline on my way to the post office and i walked out with about 15 mills & boon books. I could see question marks in her eyes, as to who’s got some awesome reading ahead 😂. This was a fun vlog to watch.
Ha ha. Love it! Think I’ve sold three bundles of them today so far! Best sellers!
Sooo awesome! You are amazing!
Awesome adventures there Mel looks like your having fun!!
We are! Love the road trips!
Omg a photo from Mel! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 best Friday gift ever!
🎉
Yum. Yum. Donuts 🍩💥💥💥👌👌👌😊 the best and vanillaslice s i buy all the donuts. Thanks. Nice trolly. He scord for $20.
So good
What a great day!! I just love seeing Australia. 💕
Thank you!
Thank you 🦋
Love the road trip, lovely.
Glad you enjoyed it thank you!
More stool vlogs with Thom !
Ha ha. Coming up!
Thanks for the video, Mel!
You are so welcome! Another one coming in a few days!
We missed you. Great video😀
ROAD TRIP!!!!
Yesssss!
I've never seen color coordinated books on shelves. It makes me feel that people don't know the alphabet or care for books and reading. I am very oriented to colors, but appropriately in fabrics for quilts and such.
I think colour coding books is often done by people with OCD who like things done a specific way and order. I find it hard to scan the books with my eyes when the colours are all the same like that. I can see it looks pretty on the shelf like a rainbow display but I think it would possibly hurt the stores sales.
Three donuts, an ice cream 99er nutty whip and a sausage sarnie sounds good to me! I thought that kick step was going to end up on your lap back in the car LOL.
The back of the car was needed for the marketplace CD hauls! There was a lot of treats that day but the ice cream sundae was the winner 🤣
Great video !
Thank you!
Turn Right Tom! haha
😂😂
What a sin they shut moss vale! This was my fav!
Great video Mel!
:)
Road Trips! Get the red licorice
I love licorice
I sa some Ann Cleeves books when you were browsing in one of the shops. Are they popular sellers? I really enjoy her multiple series.
Enjoyed the road trip, and the construction made it real.❤
Yes she sells well for me but she is still quite a low end book unless I get a bundle so I need to buy her at the right prices.
That was a nice video great music choices too
Thank you so much!
Good to see you mel
Thank you. Lots of videos coming
Interesting video Mel books don't sell at all for me on ebay, but maybe it's the type I've tried to sell, and also here in Northern Ireland we call the ice cream cone a "poke" and when it has a flake in it its called a "99" or "99 er" 😋 puts me in the mood for one but I'm on keto 😂
A poke! Wow how interesting! I could go a sundae now also 😂😂 yummy
Love the adventure. ❤❤❤
Thank you
Love just seeing what you do 🥰
Thank you!
Good to see more content! Wtg Mel
Working on it! See you again on Monday for another video! :)
Thom
Love the beach
It was beautiful
Great Vid
Thank you!
“There’s nothing like a good sausage” 11:43
That is true!
That is some city you were driving through!! Impressive.
That was Sydney! We drove over the Sydney harbour bridge which is the most famous bridge in Australia :)
This video made me hungry!
lol nom nom
Oh my gosh, wish I had known about it! Would kill to go there. In western Sydney by any chance?
No I don’t think we were in western suburbs this trip. Thom drives so I don’t pay much attention to locations we go to lol. I’m happy to be a passenger princess 😂
Great video Mel, loved the road trip to your capital city Sydney 😂😂😂 thanks for sharing
Ha ha. Glad you loved the capital 🤣🤣
I thought Canberra was the capital city of Australia
love these sorts of videos...great to see. Thank you :) $18 for that Book?? could buy it brand new for that ...somewhere lol
Yes some expensive books now in the thrifts.
That Lifeline had to have been taking the piss with those book prices. That's brand new at the bookshop pricing, shameless.
Expensive area of Sydney to live with expensive prices to match.
Color coordinated books whoa! I Agree distracting
Yeah really hard to focus on the titles and what you need.
When I do a google search for tip shops I don’t see any in Sydney apart from places to dump your rubbish 🙄
We have tip shops in Canberra also and they’re great.
And there is a great one just before Melbourne
