- The amount of choice available on the PSVR section of the PSN store is a little overwhelming nowadays! Because of this Ian Higton has gathered together a list of 15 PSVR games that he thinks you really have to play.
The following list has been separated into three parts: beginner, intermediate and experienced. Suggestions for beginners are mainly static affairs, whilst intermediate and experienced games provide increasing levels of motion that may cause discomfort to those new to VR.

Resident Evil 7 is utterly terrifying in VR. A full blown AAA game can be done in VR and Capcom have nailed it
absolutly, I think they should get way more praise for that. It is a milestone in gaming history.
Max Pein I’m a fan of the franchise and was sceptical when I learned about the reboot, switch to first person and the mostly new protagonists. I was very pleasantly surprised to find out that the entire game (sadly not all dlc) was playable in vr, not just a bonus level tacked on at the last minute. Completely immersive and utterly terrifying I’ve completed the game on madhouse difficulty but still haven’t played through it all in vr.
Since this post PSVR owners have a new benchmark game. Wipeout Omega Collection has been patched to include full PSVR support and is a free update. It has to be played to be appreciated. Super smooth and one of the most polished games on the system it really is a milestone for hardcore fans of the Wipeout franchise and newcomers to the series.
Yes Wipeout sounds amazing, I have to try it out as soon as possible :D
i get a nausea, so if i played this in vr it would have taken me ages
A vr masterpiece to say the least. Great replay too. Especially the "not a hero".
Here's a quick list...
Beginner Games:
- The Lost Bear
- Moss
- Statik
- Rec Room
- Job Simulator
Intermediate Games:
- Ultrawings
- Farpoint
- Until Dawn: Rush of Blood
- Rez Infinite/Polybius/Thumper
- Star Trek: Bridge Crew
Experienced Games:
- Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
- Doom VFR
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR
- Raw Data
- Sprint Vector
Elder scrolls was my first vr game lol
Is that 15 games you should get for psvr
Neel Awal don’t forget Firewall Zero Hour
You forgot Here they Lie, awesome game.
Beat saber and superhot?
With that kind of voice and narration, you will be able to convince just anyone to buy a PSVR.
IKR.
China face
@@ayashin19 racism for no reason
Why do you think I’m ordering one?
Why wouldn’t you want to buy a PSVR?
Superhot VR would be at the top of my list. I struggle with free movement in VR so it was perfect for me.
Superhot is THE best VR game ever
Jonathan Lax Super Hot is a must buy. A great way to experience VR it’s a puzzle shooter that will leave you super hot. Best played standing it’s short but sweet
i agree,no nausea what so ever
Im immune to VR sickness. However, I agree that superhot is the most fun you will have.
Rec room is also good
Beat saber... you missed, beat saber, it was announced for ps 4 at the time of this upload and now its release, if I where you pick it up
@Yettere nolastname Yup
Beat Saber, Firewall: Zero hour, and Creed: Rise to Glory are all fun.
I was wondering why beatsaber was not up there
Beat Saber had a lack of content
I have beat saber and it is really fun
Three games that really should be on this list...
1. Astro Bot: Rescue Mission
2. Superhot VR
3. Wipeout Omega Collection
BEAT SABER?!?!!
BEAT SABER
Beat saber
Super Hypercube
PlayStation need to bring out the PSVR treadmills for the consumer
Like in Ready Play One? (360 treadmill) because if so, i definitely agree.
That would really help me in super hot vr
For about 3500$ you can get a kat walk mini compatible with psvr
razor_ dink they should do finger the leg trackers too like hive did because the ps4 camera is so so annoying
BLOOD & TRUTH WAS A FANTASTIC GAME
Tetris Effect is a must. I was sceptical about it at first but it is amazing. You literally lose sense of time and get lost in the worlds. VR makes it that much better too. Even without VR, it is a must buy.
I'm glad this channel gives the psvr some love. I think people really expect less of it compared to the others but it really is a solid piece of kit. And with the new patent on a controller that looks specifically for psvr we should be getting smooth moving and possible of finger recognition to!
If only Elite Dangerous was available in VR on the PS4. It is the most in depth, well made VR game on any platform.
Imho it’s terribly wrong to state Sony isn’t supporting PSVR. They have made more exclusives than MS did for the X1!
Well seeing as how Microsoft doesn't have a VR headset EVERYTHING on this list is an exclusive... No one said Sony wasn't supporting the PS4, especially since they have the most exclusives....
So... Uh... Yeah.... You're right? 😂 lol
Wife: common now, you'll get late to work!
Me: *turns on Job simulator
Quality banter
r/boneappletea
PLEXER 13: honey I’m working what do you mean?
Come on* lol
fyre mug uh
Also check out Superhot VR. It's extremely challenging in the later levels, but a cool game nonetheless. Time only moves when you move in real life.
Also worth mentioning is The windlands, the best spiderman simulator out there that doesn't feature spiderman. But beware, the game can make you seriously ill.
And last but definitely not least, Arizona Sunshine. A truly great Zombie Shooter game that can be played either with 2 motion controllers or the "aim controller". It features an immersive but kind of short story and a horde mode. Also, everything can be played in CO-OP with friends, it truly is a VR masterpiece.
MSMusic Thanks bro. My birthday is near so I might get one.
Thank you for including the Lost Bear! Glad you guys liked it!
My top recommendations would be Moss, Sprint Vector, Superhot VR, Skyrim VR, Resident Evil 7, Thumper, Rez Infinite, Until Dawn Rush of Blood, Eagle Flight, and Statik.
Rob Smith
try rec room
You won’t regret it
Jonathan G Yeah
Rob Smith I prefer job simulator
You're on point! I own all of the games you mention above. I would like to throw in Farpoint with the aim controller as well.
I feel very blessed that I was able to skip straight to Expert games with PSVR - I don't suffer any of the motion sickness that others do. With that in mind, I can recommend Windlands. It has you swinging around a fantasy setting using two grappels, one on each hand. Lots of fun, but only if you have the stomach for it!
Ashley Smith Windlands is by far my most played VR game yet, must have if you're not affected ny motion sickness
Is it free
I'm doing resident evil right now and I havent gotten sick at all but scared? Yeah lol
It was weird, I was always warned of the dangers of motion sickness and how I will DEFINITELY get sick. 10 minutes after a dive with a shark, I had a bit of a headache after a first use and was fine from there.
The Lost Bear is the only PSVR game I've played, but I thought it was brilliantly done. Glad to see it on this list.
Great video. You missed one of my favorites; Batman VR. I loved this game though it was pretty short. The feeling of it was great and I would love to see a more detailed, longer game.
Thank you I have been looking for this information.
My biggest issue with PSVR is that even when playing a game about Winnie the Pooh having a cup of tea with Paddington Bear while they discuss flowers and sewing all i`m thinking about is the impending doom of something resembling the RING woman jumping at my face.
Paul James hahaha
you mean it hasn't happened to you yet? lucky
I have the same problem 😁
I got my psvr last week, my favorites so far is :
Beat saber
The playroom vr (free)
Astrobots rescue mission
My first time watching your video and I felt like I’m watching a documentary! You sound like David Attenborough, so calming and soothing! Great video, pacing, voice and commentary! Keep up the good work!
Rose Waters Ian is the man! I got into eurogamer partially because of Ians love for vr.
Check out their series Late to The Party sometime! Its super fun.
Grant McCarter Thanks! I’ll check it out!
Great list of games mentioned, I would of added Bloody Zombies as a fun co-op game that you can play without vr, also for another free download playroom vr is a must get as well.
Superhot. Hands down. Its my go to if anyone asks me what vr is all about.
Boxvr and beat saber are my favorites.
Also, after playing skyrim i realised that it might not take much longer untill there will finally be a sword art online game in vr.
The. Hack game style is gonna happen in the next few years no doubt. Sword art online nerve gear was a bit different by acutally accessing ur brain.
@@shigglezz684 True, let's hope such a system will stay fictional considering no one would ever leave the house again if we could actually get into a vr world with our brain.
I know i wouldn't xD
I'd be fine with just normal vr with SAO. 😂 i would like to do everything they were able to in the game instead of following the story and stuff.
@@scarface8981 true af lol
I’ve been playing rec room for two. Years and I love it it’s my favorite vr and maybe favorite just game in general I recommend 100%
I had a blast playing Werewolves within. The Invisible Hours also uses a very unique method of storytelling that utilizes the VR technology
Rec room is amazing and I'm a experience player it's just really fun
I was given The Invisible Hours by a friend, and I ended up liking that quite a bit. It's a murder mystery where you explore this mansion and follow characters around to start piecing things together. The only downside is that you are just a passive observer throughout the story. That said, I enjoyed the twists and the depth to some of the characters.
Yeah, The Invisible Hours was well done. they obviously spent a lot of time on it. Very good story and good murder mystery. I got pretty far in before my GF started to complain about how much time I was spending.
Nice video thanks for share this 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I know it wasn’t out when this vid was made but Wipeout Omega Collection is the must play PS VR racing game. It’s incredible.
Whoa first time I've ever heard SuperHot being called a "frustrating mess" :O
I really enjoyed shooty fruity. Similar to job simulator (working in diferent jobs) but more kick butt!
Statik! Great game with challenging puzzles and surprisingly good story. Super immersive
I don't know if Beat Saber was on PSVR when this was made, but it is definitely the best VR game ever.
From easy beats, to difficulty that hardcore gamers want (and will either get a workout, or decide to workout to get better at playing or for longer play times) this is like guitar hero for VR, but instead of a guitar, it's slicing to the beat with lightsabers.
Great video, but i really missed Battlezone.
Not kidding, I've tried placing my controllers on the desks in job simulator lol
My mum on SuperHot went to lean on a table but she fell over lol
I have RE7, Skyrim VR, and Rec Room. All phenomenal games, especially in VR. One you missed though is Star Wars: Squadrons. It feels so cool to fly through space in a TIE fighter blowing up your enemies in a huge online battle, comparable to a Battlefield game but in spaceships. In VR it really feels like you're in space and the weight of the headset even feels like you're wearing a helmet. In space there's no way up or down so it shouldn't make you feel too dizzy and at the same time it feels like a roller coaster boosting and drifting through asteroids sometimes
Fantastic video, thanks.
firewall zero hour should have been in this video. it is no doubt a revolutionary game
Wasn't out at time.
Sparc for sure and best for exercise too.
Matt Marjanovich I was wondering if anybody was going to mention it. It's truly a great game
Robinson was breathtaking at times especially seeing one of the herbivore giants for the first time close up, also I will add Eve Valkyrie just for the sheer beauty of been launched into space for the first time and been in awe at the graphics, also getting neck ache from hours of playing and looking up through your vertical window chasing down the enemy, maybe my age is a little factor in that though.
This list is great!!
Hopefully getting the Skyrim/PSVR bundle for my birthday this weekend. It looks really cool, and I can’t wait to try it out, as well as a few other games. I have a friend who has VR, so we’ll probably be playing in the Rec Room a lot.
Rec Room!!!
so did you get your VR...give an update...and what you think, I've had mine for about 4 months and I'm absolutely extremely Happy i invested into the PSVR...IT'S GREAT IMO
Thanks Ian, that's really useful. I'm still very much in beginner mode; I played an hour of Skyrim VR and then had to have a lie down :(
Had the same thing with Doom VFR. Enjoyed what I played, but wow, I was definitely feeling it after.
MsFraggleRocks you have warm up to it try 30 min then 45 rest for 30min then 1 hour of gameplay if that does not work try ginger biscuits for the motion sickness
It goes away over time. Used to also get motion sickness now I can play no problem, skyrim 6 hrs straight no problem.
Skyrim is the only one on this list I've played. I lasted about 20 minutes, tried to "power through" the feeling of sickness I was getting - I was a VR novice. BAAAD idea. I felt rotten for about 2 days after that.
I may give it another go some day soon and try to build up to it, because the 20 minutes I played were very impressive!
Putting a fan down which blows a gentle breeze in your face might help! Worked for me when i started to play vr.
Im really so glad you included farpoint and skyrim. I would add beat saber and firewall zero hour.
As a PC VR player, Statik is one of the few games I really regret missing out on. I love puzzle games in VR, and that one looked really interesting.
Out of All the games you missed, You missed BEAT SABER!!
Rush of Blood is both scary and fun. Lots of replay value for score chasers it is very well worth a look
The Persistence is freaking amazing in Vr. We only have to demo so far, but damn.... can’t wait for the full release
I just grabbed a PS VR a couple days ago and played lots of games and demos over the weekend, in my eyes Batman Arkham really shows where VR can go, I know it is short, but it was an awesome experience.
Moss seems to be a really cool concept and just shows how VR and motion details is really improving up a known way of gameplay, reminded me a bit of a super cool enhanced Zelda.
What really impressed me though was Wipeout, yeah it is a remake, and yeah it was neither done for VR nor it is really friendly towards the people with motion sickness, but I really liked the game anyways and in VR it is just incredibly cool.
I am really looking to Golem and Beat Sabre, I guess These games will be very cool, in different ways.
Dirt Rally=awesome, especially with a wheel
GOOD NEWS! There *IS* a 10 player online Aim-based FPS for VR! And it's only $7! ...aaand it looks laughable BUT it PLAYS well. Honor & Duty. No joke. Now that they've patched out the major bugs, the Aim implementation is actually better than Doom VFR. The single player is super basic, but the online is...well...pretty solid! As long as you don't mind how bad it looks, it's $7 well spent I say!
Favorite PSVR game not on the list for me is Mortal Blitz. It's not flawless but...I mean...it's Time Crisis in VR with you PHYSICALLY ducking behind objects. Sparc is also really good as is Knock Out League.
GELTONZ the maps are too small in honor and duty its super easy to spawn trap and got really borinh fast.
Its 7 dollars is not a good excuse for bad game design. I fell into the trap of 7 dollars
What’s it called
Since I love the couch games (playing with friends on the same ps4) I strongly recommend KTANE (keep talking and nobody explodes) !!! Amazing approach on VR experience!!
Glad to see Statik on the list. Truly amazing game.
can you put the games in a list in the comments?
It would be useless for him
@@francescocalin2807 pllno
polybius is based off of a story about an arcade game that is dangerous to play and was only playable for not that long until it disappeared en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polybius_(urban_legend)
Moss is great; I highly recommend it. I actually enjoyed the Voltron VR game too, my biggest complaint being that it's too short and that there's no way to replay parts you want without starting over from the beginning
As a person who has quite a few PSVR games I agree with this list minus a few games, but that's probably just personal preference. I'd remove thump/rez/poly, Ultrawings, and Startrek and put Eve Valkyrie, Battlezone, and RIGS mechanized combat league in their place.
Farpoint with the aim controller is so sick once you change the controls to have free full movement. Running up on a giant mech strafing it while pumping rounds into it while staying just out of it's laser scorching the ground behind you makes you feel like a super soldier from a movie. Well worth the investment, and Honor and Duty (graphics aside) has solid aim controller support and online multiplayer.
i dont like Farpoint and Skyrim VR because of... SPIDERS!
Mr Big Head omg same bro
I understand but skyrim is awesome
That's why I love them.
I played one called Starchild and it's ok...But then this big ass alien appeared from out of the dark that freaked me out!
@@KIDSOUL777 Think you would have played the demo which was fricking great. Actual full release hasn't happened yet though broski.
I think beat saber and superhot vr couldve been in the list
Killing floor incursion was the most immersive I've played so far. Not so scary for me since I played a lot of killing floor 2. I love the knife throwing mechanic (it's all in the wrist) and the sniper rifle mechanic (although reloading it can be a bit glitchy). If you love zombie shooters it is a must. A good 4-6 hours of gameplay depending on how much you die or time it takes to figure out puzzles. Playing in Co-op is a must, so much fun.
Firewall zero hour, the persistence, blood and truth and gunjack VR. 4 games I love
im gonna get my ps4 vr on christmas im gonna be in vr for second time cause i play it sometimes at my friend but im gonna get it and im so exited:)
You’re going to have the best day!
Getting a psvr too! Cant wait!!
@@ethanmatley3833 well good
Same!
@@freddyfaz7869 good
No mention of Battlezone? :(
Ryan Hall it's demo was the first vr game i ever played. Should i buy it?
They did kind of mention it.
There’s so many games that I want to play, but I don’t have any move controllers. They are rare to find and can be expensive for ones that I do find
Raw data, eve valkarie, spark, resident evil 7,moss, Riggs, bravo team, archangel, starblood arena, doom, far point and brook haven are my go to games I never get tired of in vr
One of my favourite experiences on PSVR is Batman Arkham VR
Karl Franklin agreed! Mine too
Same here
Same
Me too! I was giggling with joy while putting on the bat suit! And the asylum at the end freaked me out enough that I had to take off the headset only to realize later that I was at the end lol. I just wish there was more of an option to fight people and also was upset when I didnt get to actually drive the bat mobile! But I know VR will get there one day. It's a very good start for sure
When my friends come over and see the VR that’s all they want to try
Rigs makes me feel sick. Just thinking about it makes me feel sick
Now i feel sick thinking about u playing it and being sick lol
Few of the PS4 VR games that I currently own that I really like to play are
Firewall Zero Hour
Moss
Astro Bot Rescue Mission
Crees: Rise to Glory is somewhat fun for me but the same I get exhausted too fast. Which makes this more fitting to those who are physically fit in my opinion.
I love the space battle in Eve Valkyrie VR but I don’t think it’s the game for me yet.
Waiting for Gungrave VR as well.
Btw In Skyrim vr Greatswords, warhammers, and two handed axes (forget the name) are op af as you can swing them really fast and keep the same damage
You forgot Beat Saber and FNAF: Help Wanted
Fnaf help wanted is actually really clean for vr
Be reminded that list list came out in 2018
Megaton Rainfall?
To say Skyrim VR was "re-created inch by inch" is likely flat-out wrong. xD
Anyway, I gave a like for the overall great video, but was surprised by your comment at the end about Superhot VR...I didn't bother using the mind-power after acquiring it and thoroughly enjoyed the game through to the end. Trying to beat the speed-run mode is the most physically challenging experience I've ever had with a video-game. To me it is a great game, sad you disagree, but whatever, I respect your opinion.
You gotta check our Werewolves Within. It's a social deduction game played with up the 8 players. It would fit in the beginner section. But it's a blast, especially if you enjoy party games like Mafia or Werewolf.
SOLUS PROJECT GUYS. PERIOD
ioannisdenton
I have to agree , it's definitely missing from the list!
Eve valkarie?
I like how windlands an amazing game with beautiful music and breathtaking environment wasn't mentioned c'mon man
Great Buy! I got it yesterday and am amazed, normal launch PS4 not the neo/ pro. Great buy $449 + tax $540 in Canada. Only played Worlds VR different games and playroom VR but I have to say im impressed!
Mario Kart VR - now THAT'S a game I would buy. ;)
Tomas Green Sprint Vector is for you then.
There's a Mario Kart Arcade GP VR in Japan for Namco's new VR arcade.
There's also a game called VR Karts on PSVR but it's overpriced and lame. Sprint Vector is awesome though.
doom vfr deserves to be on the top of the list....playing it with the aim controller is a real treat....the game shows that doom definitely has a future in vr....
HopOnTheHype .
,, ....
dbcpk There are many better games than Doom VfR
Doom vfr is the only game that gets me motion sickness, i cant play more than 1 hour straight. Im playing with the dualshock4
Well hear I am at 64 years of age and only just got my PS4 pro and second hand VR head set and move controllers. I just downloaded some demos must say I’m Very impressed Astro Bot is the best fun I have had since Ape Escape ordered squadrons from Amazon for £10 so I’m looking forward to becoming a Jedi
Mortal Blitz is really good as far as VR Shooters go. I would consider it an intermediate experience.
Here They Lie and The Inpatient are also good horror experiences. The Inpatient adds a level of immersion by allowing you to actually verbally speak out dialogue options into the VR microphone.
Beat saber just came out on ps4... I know what I'm going to buy first 😏
Good choice.
@Eurogamer bosses: Put up the cash to get Mr Higton a Rift so he can cover PC VR too! :D
The few I was expecting: Rec Room, Beatsaber, Job simulator, Astrobot, and Super Hot VR
I guess I have really fun time playing in Gun Club. Creed is awesome too. And the Star Wars battlefront VR mission made me giggle a lot.
SuperHot, Dirt Rally.
Not sure if it's available on PS4, probably is since it's made by Ready At Dawn, (order 1886 Devs), but Lone Echo is a superb vr game, definitely worth a go in my opinion, looks really nice too :)
...trailer: czcams.com/video/5UZ6fqlZavo/video.html
A quick google search would have told you that no, it's not on PS4. Published by Oculus so it will probably remain PC exclusive.
Thumper is an INCREDIBLE game! I never, ever had ANY interest in rhythm games - but this one just feels right!
The Ultrawings footage made me wonder why Eagle Flight didn't get a nod, which to me is an exhilarating take on free flight. Definitely give that a try. Feels natural and amazing. One of my faves.
6:22 did u just say ‘ Bee-ta’?!?!? It’s *BAY-TA*!
...... No
FlapJack Clips it still is in beta
He's English so of course uses the English pronunciation - "beetah".
@@Daz555Daz agreed
@@Daz555Daz except it's not an English word, it's greek. And in Greek it would actually be "veeta"
RIGS?
Thank you! Someone who had the same thought as me! Where the heck was this?
A couple of my favourites that no one has mentioned are:
Headmaster
Here They Lie (aside from Re7 its one of the best horror games)
The Inpatient is pretty good if you are a fan of the Until Dawn games
Psychonaughts In the Rhombus of Ruin
LA Noire
Contagion
One PSVR game that wasn't in the video and that I would highly recommend is a game called Sparc. I would probably classify it in the advance section, since you have to be very physically active in the game. Go check it out!!
I broke my tv playing creed :/
Adottz. Damn 😂
Lmao I punched a wall fighting Ricky Conlan and almost broke my controllers
Oh yeah yeah
@@susa726 yeah yeah yeah yeah
@@laputahh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
I like to switch between Superhot VR and Drunkn bar fights as a warmup before i dive into a world like Skyrim or Arizona sunshine. Also Starblood arena is a fun TDM type game.
drunkin bar fights.... haha. that's funny
Gorn is gory but it’s very fun you salute to start fights and when you progress more in the game you get more weapons
rush of blood is a must have!
