- On May 6, 2021, Beyond Baroque celebrated poetry, literature, and renewed literary community with Beyond This Moment, a virtual benefit in support of Beyond Baroque’s reopening later this year. Punk-power pop band The Linda Lindas performed on our virtual stage as part of the evening’s festivities, keeping our punk-literary roots alive and vibrant.

All four of them take the lead at different times, which is also cool. I heard them talking about it in an interview.
If the dead truly can look back on the world then Kim is probably grinning so madly and so proudly at this cover.
I grew up on the Buzzcocks, Stiff Little Fingers, the Undertones, etc. The Linda Lindas are doing a wonderful job of carrying on this tradition. Looking forward to hearing more!

Love Kim and the muffs (she had one of the best roars that still gives me goosebumps) and bikini kill and all that riot grrrl movement including this band who I have been keeping my 👁️ on. Love it, they are grrreat 🐱.

I love their commitment to explaining their poetic reasoning for punk rock music, but they are a punk rock force beating down on the listener, in a good way :) beating down so you hear what they're putting down. Grasp the side rails and enjoy..

Whoa this is more than a Ramones feel no? Growing up I never got to see The Ramones( I did see Marky Ramone & The Speed Kings 1 time) however seeing and hearing these videos of Lucia & the band,but Lucia in particular feels like I'm seeing Joey Ramone reincarnated.

I was lucky enough (and sadly now, old enough!) to have made it into a Ramones mosh pit. These girls are legit! If I hear a song and it makes me want to dive into a mosh pit, it's a great fun song! The Linda Lindas have my seal of approval! I love the punk rock snarl in Eloise's voice too! Keep going ladies, you're doing great! I only found them a week ago, but I can't stop listening!

Muy lindas y talentosas estas chicas de Linda Lindas. La hermosa señorita que toca excelentemente bien el bajo, se parece mucho a la desaparecida Janis Joplin. La señorita de la bateria me encanta, pues hace ver que tocar bateria parece algo fácil y simple aunque en la realidad es todo lo contrario. It makes me so happy an all girl punk riot grrrl band is getting so much attention. When I was a kid we had Julie Ruin, L7, Sleater-Kinney, and Bikini Kill but all of those back then were in the 90’s weren’t that well known outside of the punk community.

so 15 years ago i learned everything about punk with was old for my time its so trippy to see kids less than halh my age no all that shit that i learned from ppl older than and that took hundreds of hours to learn its like i can hear what they know and understand exactly what it took to know it and its just really trippy their very good at what they do it almost unelievable

👍. I walked into a record store a few years ago, just to look around a little or maybe use the restroom (I can’t remember which). When I walked in, I looked to my left and there was a band standing there with all their gear, as if they were ready to play; it was the Muffs. The singer and I just looked at each other and then I walked out. I probably would have talked except I was waiting for a bus to catch.

Shonen Knife’s garage sound mixed with the Go-Gos early punk ascetic with a mature cohesive sound all their own and ya have an all girl rock band with a platform to say what needs to be said in their own way. I hope as they grow they don’t lose the raw nature and noisy sound that will inspire many and introduce a whole new generation to garage all out something to say punk rock.

Lol what the hell suddenly I'm back in the 90s when I was a teenager except instead of everyone in our scene being white there's a bunch of kickass asian girls who should have been there with us in the 90s but I guess it's pretty awesome that they're here now and they totally get it.
