Wessel Ilcken (Hilversum, 1 december 1923 -- 13 juli 1957) was a Dutch Jazz musician, drummer and a major personality in the Dutch Jazz world, in particular the Bebop scene. He was married to Jazz Singer Rita Reys and performed/toured with her in the Rita Reys Sextet. Until 1980 the Dutch Jazz Award for young and upcoming musicians was named after him.
