I would prefer Nexon EV with flaws. Battery tech is better, BMS is better in nexon, looks better in Nexon, even interiors are better in Nexon.
I know the selector is pain but i would still prefer it.

BMS in Nexon is BS. Gives high voltage alerts and cars needs to be restarted multiple times to reset multiple recurring issues. No issues reported in XUV. Battery tech is at par in both.

@@HkJ3708Let's revisit that when the XUV has sold an equal number of cars to the Nexon EV. 😂
If that never happens, let's see what happens when these cars are 10yrs old and actually need replacement due to degradation. The "% range loss/10k km driven" would be a nice metric to track for all EVs.

If you are going to call a car the best under 20L, i think you should have also taken into consideration the Punch Ev top end and the ZS EV entry level cars. That would have been the correct comparison. All of them do a similar range of ~300km and cover the whole 15-20L price range. Considering a lot of folks would buy the car with a loan, it would be a 5-8k monthly EMI change overall.

In october I did a test drive of both the cars not this version of XUV the previous one. I did the nexon first but I feel the space is very low and element in interior was chep.Even 3persons cannot be seated properly in the rear seat and while driving my hands where repeatedly hitting the doorpad because of the less width.
So I decide not to buy EV. But on the same day I saw XUV available for test drive in a nearby showroom and I did a testdrive. At first acceleration I felt like I am riding a Rocket or Jet It was flying through the road with our whole family. The driving was Very enjoyable and the comfort was way better than of Nexon. The rear seats leg room was more than that of any car in the segment. Also the boot was larger.I have a lot of long rides with my complete family. So I thought XUV is a nice option. At the Time the car was priced more than Nexon but I bought One without any further thinking. and now using it. Later I heard many probs of this New Nexon like charging error and battery problem. Then I felt my choice was right again.
If you go for a test drive of both the car . I promise You will choose XUV over nexon.
Also The interior of Nexon is not so beautiful as seen in Vedios. 😊
If you have any doubts about XUV you can ask me.

This week I had a test drive on punch EV nexon EV and XUV 400
Punch is good but three people cannot sit in the back and dry for long drive or even for an hour.. because the seat belt hook hit on your back and you will start getting pain
Nexon EV three people in rear seat is adjust and go however the seating comfort is not that much good
Both Tata product have good features. Also had some technical glitch event in the test drive vehicle as well as other vehicle where I show some customer complaining.. that can be overcome to through the software update however the rear seat discomfort and less boot space compared to XUV is disadvantage also little overpriced even though they are using lfp technology which is cheaper than NMC... Tata did not pass over that benefit to customers.
XUV 400 more spacious in front back and boat no one can beat can do long drive with comfort
The range wise it is depends upon the driving quality however nexon give 10 to 20 km additional rane than XUV 400. Features vaise XUV 400 relax 360 camera and its benefit
      Break assistant
      Traction control
      Hill descent
      360 camera
      Over the air OTA
      Gps navigation
      Blind spot
Above features are really missing in xuv400. But in city it gives better range then nexon EV aur panch ev
The drive quality both are very good how was sitting comfort if you consider all the five passenger XUV 400 is the best. 2 lakh lesser than nexon
Battery technology have a difference Mahindra uses NMC and Tata uses lfp.... But don't worry about the overheating as both have efficient coolant which will manage the heat so no need to worry about the technology
Since lfp technology is less cheaper nexon look likes over priced😊 when compared to the top end version of both
XUV have more power than nexon... Finally it is really a choice of people... If someone looks spacious car then they can choose XUV otherwise can go for nexon EV.
I like punch Ev but sitting in rear seat is a difficulty... So if anyone have family or anyone travelling with five people than punch EV is not good selection

    • @Anant.Bhatia.Antz_Bin
      @Anant.Bhatia.Antz_Bin Před 5 měsíci

@@carswithkaran here you go. You asked for it.
In this particular case the following could have been included:
      Difference in battery chemistry:
      XUV is NMC
      Nexon is LFP
The implications of this battery chemistry:
      1. Better Durability of LFP battery:
LFP has ~3000 charge cycles before 20% degradation
NMC has 1500-2000 charge cycles before 20% degradation
      2. Daily AC charging implications: LFP can be charged to full every time but NMC can't due to longevity issues.
      3. Daily Charging implications leading to shorter usable city range on NMC car. Usable *city* range is what you will experience everyday since 100% range can be used on the Nexon but only 80% can be used on the XUV.
      4. DC Fast Charging speeds: The graphic was inconsistent. Nexon was showing 10-80% and XUV was 0-80%. On a road trip, you are far more likely to be charging from 10-80%, not 0-80%. Should have been uniform. Don't quote this from the spec sheet. DYOR. It only takes 1 hour (for the slower charging Tata) and a stopwatch. Length of the charging stop determines how much time is wasted when charging. XUV has a bigger advantage here than shown in the review.
Apart from the above, these will help when you eventually get down to comparing the Seal Premium with the similarly priced Ioniq 5. Or for that matter the Curvv with the Dolphin and MG4 sometime in the next 12 months.
Highway range: This is the range we get when on road trips. Coupled with #4, both of these determine how many times you need charging stops to get from Pune to Goa/Bangalore/Ahmedabad.
Efficiency to be shown in km/KWh. Especially relevant on highways. Better efficiency + faster charging speed = Shorter charging stops and faster trips. This metric is more important to reaching your far off destination faster than the 0-100kph time. This separates the men from the boys. Shows how much better a Tesla 3 is than a Seal. Or ZS advantage over Nexon.
ADAS features: Cruise control helps get better highway range. So don't just say that ADAS features are a nuisance and you turned it off.
With more options coming in from more brands, EVs are going to get very mass market very soon and all of the above points are important to EVs as these determine whether the EV is the primary or the 2nd/3rd car.
