This add hits close to home. My dad had the original z1. As a kid in the 80's me and my friends would climb up the bike and pretend to be screaming down the road. We also thought it was the most amazing thing seeing a speedometer that read up to 160mph.
This Ad is brilliant. It captures the essence of a retro bike perfectly especially with the polaroid picture!

My dad still has his '73 Z1 in root beer and orange that he bought new. So many memories of it when I was super young, and tons more of riding it as I got older. Definitely will be looking into one of these when they release.

My last bike was a 2004 Yamaha FZ1 which was an absolute "Cadillac" in terms of comfort and power...I haven't hadnt ridden in almost 8 years until I bought the z900rs...there is something satisfying and soulful about a bike like the Z900rs that sport/race bikes and cruisers can't provide!. That said, I did make a few small mods to my Z900rs that I think are essential (16 tooth counter sprocket, center-stand, etc.)...probably the finest bike Ive ever ridden or owned. :)

Finally a performance retro bike nearly everyone can agree is stunning and exactly what it should be. I hope to buy one!
Where do I put down my deposit? My first bike was a 1978 KZ650. I have not been this excited for a new model since the 1980's.
Cool man, I am restoring two 78's (KZ650 B, and an SR) over the winter. I want to see one of these in person. Been waiting for a performance retro to come out. 90HP may not do it for me (Thruxton / BMW) this may get the job done.
My dad's Z1 has always had the 4 into 1 Hooker exhaust, so I actually prefer the exhaust how it is, haha. Do agree though that spoked wheels would have been better looking.

I had one in 77 ! I was the man!! In 2000 got a w650 I'm still the man!
My son still has the H2 that my ex rode and last year he bought a Vulcan ! We love Kawasaki

And Yamaha has the gall to call the XSR a tribute to the XS650!
The XSR700 isn't bad but the 900 is FUGLY. This RS is so much better.
No XSR and SCR looks better, there's something missing in the bike otherwise it would be perfect. The things arund engine should have looked more retro. Honda SR400 and CB1100 are my fav.

Aaaaarrrggghhh! I love this thing! Nothing, and I mean *nothing* has made my heart jump as much as seeing this re-imagining of the legendary Z-1 (two of which - a '73 original and a '78 Z-1R are in my garage). People complain that it doesn't have twin shocks and a 4 into 4 exhaust. Me? I'm cool with the new design. Time marches on, people. We can't live in the past. I would happily buy this bike, throw a set of soft luggage and a tank bag on it and speed off across the country, big smile on my face, enjoying every mile. This may actually be the bike that causes me to sell my beloved Sportster (yeah, got one of those too). I wonder if my Kawi dealer would take a trade-in?
