Soloing Over Chord Changes on Guitar

Soloing over chord changes can seem a daunting task, especially if the changes are frequent and unconventional.
But we have to start somewhere. The key thing is to break it all down into the smallest practical steps possible. That's what I aim to help you do throughout this series of lessons. By the end of the series you should have a clear process in your mind for soloing over any sequence of chords that may be thrown at you.
In this lesson we learn about the two main types of chord change you're likely to solo over and the concept of note selection within a scale. We then move on to building simple phrases over 2 chords - C major and F major (the 1 and 4 chords of C major).

As a beginner to guitar soloing, I have watched tons and tons of videos, including those from world renowned players. This is the only ones that really help me to see how to start playing some music. Tons of good players there, but so few can teach. This is the kind of video the student needs. Thank you so much!

Great video. You really break the main idea down to an easy to follow lesson. I've watched countless triad and playing over chord videos but this was especially helpful. No other tutorial explained the idea of passing tones between starting and landing notes this well.

That was what I was looking for so long. Simple concept that gives you starting point for building up. In most of the lessons out there, people are like: 'We start here... then...
