Bloody Tears - Castlevania II: Simon's Quest (solo piano arr. based on kaede arrangement)

- OMG TWO VIDS IN ONE WEEK AND IT'S NOT FIRE EMBLEM?!?!!?!?! LMAO!!!!! well, it's Halloween and the season for Castlevania, which I love with my whole being, and moreover it's BLOODY TEARS, a video game theme as iconic as the Super Mario Bros main theme and Dr. Wily Stage 1 that the only thing I can apologize for is not having a cover of this on my channel sooner. I'd actually been working on this one since April and meant to to get it out like months ago but got sidetracked as usual aahhghhfg. Better late than never lol!!!
Anyways, this is a solo piano version i wrote based on the version by kaede, which is phenomenal and to me the most definitive cover of Bloody Tears like ever: • "Bloody tears" CastleV...
I have loved Castlevania ever since I was a child and especially Simon's Quest. It was the first time I ever saw a day/night cycle in a game and the RPG elements were super cool and when I saw that flame whip for the first time I was like OMG WOWOWOWWOWOW and the music, like all Castlevania games, was just SO GOOD. SO GOOD!!! Bloody Tears was one of the first vgm themes I tried to pick out on the piano as a ten year old with only three years of piano lessons under my belt; so it's special to me. I mean, when I heard it played during Season 2 of the Netflix Castlevania series, I legit cried.
kaede's version is actually based on the Judgement version, not the original from Simon's Quest, but it works really well as an extended arrangement of Bloody Tears because the Simon's Quest version is so short, and I love those extra sections in there. I transcribed kaede's blazing guitar and the corresponding violin and piano solos but had to retool some things for playability, but it still ended up being quite virtuosic and a doozy to actually play OTL and required a lot of practice argh but i wouldn't have it any other way. I was listening to this throughout the day while working on art. Then, later in the evening I met my friend at the mall. we walked the halls chatting about life and things, when my phone accidently hit play on this video.. and from my pocket emerged Bloody Tears.. My friend stopped and looked at me shocked and I started into his eyes "Tis a terrible night for a curse"... amazing rendition. I love your music.
OMG THAT'S AWESOME HAHAHAHAHAHA man that is just the best when you discover by chance your friend is a Castlevania fan as well omg!!!! I remember distinctly when something like that happened to me back in 1999 when I had some friends over and one of the people whom I had never met until that night was like..."I see you a SNES in that corner with Final Fantasy VI in it," and i was all apprehensive like, "uh yes" thinking he was gonna make fun of me when he was like "I LOVE THAT GAME" and another friend in the group was like OMG ME TOO and we've been super close friends ever since because of that moment hahaha

Oh This is so GOOOD!!! The notification I got for this and subsequent music is sweeter than any candy I would hope to buy in bulk at 50% off tomorrow! I never played Simon's quest, but heard the theme plenty in SOTN, and if it was in any of the SNES versions. I really like the intro, simply put it's very pretty. The solo was really cool too, felt like King Diamond. As you said yourself, I really love those extra sections :)

@@LazyVocalist You would enjoy. The series has been on almost every console since the NES, so over 30 years of music styles and formats over the years. Every title has had top notch music even the Gameboy titles, even if the quality of the chiptune isn't up to modern standards, the compositions are top notch.
Try looking up *Lament Of Truth ~Leon's Theme~* track from a PS2 title to listen to. It's one of my favorite themes from the franchise.
