I'd keep all of the characters back row because it only affects basic melee attack damage, not the characters special abilities like Edgar's tools, or Sabin's blitzes. For the most part, your characters will be using special abilities or magic, rarely basic attacks, and the damage reduction from being back row is significant. It makes sense to keep all characters back row permanently for the entire game. Lastly, there are quite a few weapons that negate the back row damage reduction of your melee attack, so if you want to focus on melee attacks, equip one of these weapons.

Actually..there are only about 6 weapons that are long range, and they all belong to Locke and Setzer. Rods dont count because rod users shouldnt be attacking. Also..the Atma weapon IS affected by the backrow even though it does bypass defence..damage will be cut. Always keep your atma weapon user in front row and always keep locke in front row as the valient knife is ALSO affected by the back row

    > A Mythril Claw is a rare steal from the rhino monsters outside South Figaro. Steal 2 of them for Sabin for use w/ te Genji Glove received from the Returners scene. Sabin will truck through his portion of the split. Raise his MagPwr later or equip 2 Earrings
    > Gau solos the WoB. Chicken Lip, found near Maranda, will allow him to cast Quake
    > Gogo can cast espers indefinitely. Use an esper, mime it, cycle back to Gogo and mime again without taking action as anyone else
    > Unequip Mog's shield and spear at the beginning. It goes into your inventory and you won't see a Mythril shield for a while
    > Most of the monsters in the Art House in the WoR have suits(Moogle, chocobo)to steal. All of these suits can eventually be gambled into Genji Armor at the collisuem and Mud Suuds at Kefka's Tower have Thunder Shields to steal which can be turned into Genji Shields

      Other secrets would be:
The 2nd tempest from number 128
      The moogle charm
The hidden ribbon in south figaro
      The genji gloves
      The vanish + doom glitch

The Genji equipment kind of sucks out of ALL the party members that can equip the full SET the best one to do so is on Shadow only.
But since Vanish Doom won't work don't bother to kill Intangirs for spell learning since odds are the Rhodox Rage for Snare won't WORK either because of that learn ALL WoB spells on the Floating Continent instead.
2x Mytthril claws NOT needed ABUSE he hell out of that infinite loop BEFORE fighting Ultros the first time until lv 36 then at that point Terra/Sabin/Edgar can pretty much kill everything in 1 hit.

I used to play this as underleveled as possible since your stats would remain the same even as you level up, the only real stat increase was in HP and MP. However you could still "level up" a specific stat by equiping a Summon and only Then go ahead and level up as usual.

One thing I do love about the pixel remaster and the remaster of 7-9 is when you done grinding for a time being seen the enemies in that specific areas(for the trophy in each of the pixel remaster) is that you can turn off the random battles so no more annoying random battles every step when your trying to get to places or find a chest you missed. Which brings me to the second and third reasons I love about the pixel remaster. The first is its easier to figure out where your going and the other is when the map is pulled up you can see where the chests on the map and after pushing triangle on the map screen you can see how many chests or hidden items there are in the location your at(unfortunately from 3 onwards you'll still have to figure out where the hidden items are or look at a guide) the only thing I wish is that I wish they were based off the later versions and not the original cause of the extra content but I still enjoy the games regardless

Not to be a dick or anything I swear but I feel like there wasn't any actual hints or tips in this for 'beginners'. It felt more like it really just boiled down to you basically just saying "Just play the game, and the second act isn't nearly as linear as the first act. Also don't miss mog." I was honestly hoping for something along the lines of, ' this area here is great for early game leveling' or like 'here's some early equipment you could possibly miss that can be super beneficial to your party early on' stuff like that yanno? Sorry for being that guy, I'm sure the comments will tear me apart for thinking my own personal thoughts on something that everybody loves, but I'm literally getting ready to play this game for the first time (The Gameboy advance port to be precise) and wanted to see how powerful I could get my party members as early as possible for the hell of it but I haven't found any such video thus far. Mind you I HAVE started FF VI a few times in the past but never got to far in it really, for what reason I can't tell you as I kind of always just faded away from playing it at certain points, but still I want to give this game the good solid playthrough with attention to as much detail as it certainly is a game that deserves such a playthrough. After this though and ALOT of searching for said 'high level early game' hints and tips that I've tried to find I've come to the conclusion that I'm probably better off giving this a blind playthrough for my first full run of the game anyways and enjoying it regardless without putting restrictions and stipulations on myself cause that may end up ruining my experience and cause me to not finish it yet again. Regardless though your video was well put together, it just wasn't what I was personally looking for. But thank you though. I still gave it a like though cuz I'm not s complete dickhead lolol take care man.
