      @@Intentionallyhomeless hey guys, great to hear from you.
      Just saying, we couldn't live in it.
      Good if you're on the move constantly in an off road environment.
      We sold it because it was freezing off the walls to touch inside and was nowhere to get comfortable inside when the weather turned and you couldn't live outside. Very very heavy and Chinese build. Rough..great to tow with the rounded front.
      We got an old, but in good nic 2004, 17ft Olympic road van single axle.
      Sooooo comfortable and heaps of room inside. NO room inside the fantasy to move.
      Been in this one for 3yrs now and still going strong. You can pick em up for around 15grand too👍
      There are heaps better options in our opinion. The older road vans are so strong and comfortable.
      Catch up one day we hope. Cheers Brian and Deb 🍻

      @@LandTourier yeah we actually feel the same way after looking at hundreds of options. Olympic is a fantastic brand. Thanks for your detailed reply as always and definitely must catch up in the future. We are in Forster NSW at the moment but heading to Canberra and chilly Victoria then Port Macquarie for Xmas and New year 👊😎

      Hey mate. For the price and the quality I think it's the front runner. Wall kits are over priced but also quality zips and velcro. Frame work solid. We've had this up in some crazy strong wind and so long as it's tied down no problem. You need to okki strap or tie down the spreads between the frame work to stop water pooling. There are straps stitched in for these points. All and all, brilliant 👍 Cheers mate, Brian🍻

      Hey Murry, yes mate, the cooker although very heavy duty, needs better jets. I'd rate it overall about 6.5 out of 10. We use a wick burner that we run from on top of the cook top. It's sensational and we usually only need one burner with the Webber doing most of the work. 👍 all the best mate, Brian

    • @LandTourier
      @LandTourier  Před 2 lety

      Hey Vince, Thanks for your kind words mate.
      OK, we no longer have this van. We sold it on for many reasons. Totally honest opinion Vince. I would look around to find something lighter all round. You can put 300kg on the ball without even trying. Think it's around 270kg empty on the ball. This transfers to your total weight your 4x4 can carry. All the weight is forward because of it's design.. Tows great and tucks in nicely behind the 80 series. All 4 standard Chinese no brand shocks all failed at the same time. That made the van very loose to pull to say the least. replaced the 4 with EFS Elete. There was not much choice either with the shocks for the geometry of the standard shocks were a real pain to match. With the EFS towed great except for the 40psi in the Airbag Man bags needed to stop the tow ball dragging on the ground, and the 80 has 400kg constant HD OME suspension. The finish is not good. parts of the van wasn't finished off properly. Not much quality control of the finished product. Cabinetry is super heavy and the hinges and latches didn't match up well. Even hinges missing from install because there were no holes for them so they were never fitted from new. Very tight inside if the weather turns and you have to go indoors for a day or two. Seats super uncomfortable, Bed mattress rock hard, I mean you can't even sleep on it. 12v very cheap and no brand components, Solar panels were stick on to the roof and would only put 8amps in on full sun. AGM Batteries were no name. All the stick on marine carpet just kept falling off. No room even under the bed for storage. Air con and water tank plumbing took it all up. Says you can put nearly a tone of gear in it but I don't know where you would fit it. NOT insulated...Touch the walls on a hot day and you will get burned. Like wise when cold the walls are freezing. The galvanizing on the chassis was rough too. Vince, I honestly think there is better even after spending around $7000 on upgrading everything that was to us just not acceptable. Hope this helped in some way mate. This is only our opinion and I am being brutally honest. We ended up now with an 2003 Olympic Australian built. Half the price and so so livable. Doesn't look as cool as the hybrids but the functionality and livability is chalk and cheese. All the best mate. .Cheers Brian

      @LandTourier  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey Murray, NO mate. $1000ish retail.
      It came with it for us second hand.
      They come with a flimsy electric straight rectangle awning. They do have a manual wind out fitting that comes with it for the inevitable failure of the electric mechanism. Hope this helps Murray. Cheers Brian
