I gotta have cheese burgers, even plant based. Nothing satisfies like a burger. I won't give up French fries either and I've never found a baked recipe that satisfies. We are about to get an air fryer and I'll try air fried fries due to the very low amount of oil they use. I love charcoal grilled taste so I'm looking for a plant based burger that works well with a charcoal grill. I currently use Grillers by Morning Star Farms but they are so dry they aren't good on the grill. I use Daiya brand plant based cheddar cheese but it really doesn't have the extra sharp taste I crave. Spring is right around the corner so I'm looking for a better burger and cheese brand.

Out of curiosity I tried several different kinds of plant-based meats. Tried the Impossible Burger from Burger King and some others. They do sort of taste like meat, but when I looked at the ingredient lists and saw how much fat and sodium they have these immediately dropped off my life of things I would want to eat. The one exception to that that I might eat again was the Grillers Prime from Morningstar Farms. They made some decent tasting stuff, but still I classify these things are very processed foods and as such they are not really an option for me.
When I criticized my own old diet I'd say there was not enough vegetables and too much processed type foods, so that is what I decided to change. I still eat meat, but much much less meat than I used to, and very little to no processed meats. Then I amped up my plant-based intake according to Dr. Fuhrman's acronym GBOMBS ... greens, beans, onions,, mushrooms, berries and seeds, which I find helpful. But I do supplement with a little lean meat, mostly fish such as salmon and sardines, and some chicken and beef. A little milk in my coffee and an occasional container of yogurt. That's where I am now. If I have medical issues I will consider adjustments, but I see no reason to become a raving fanatic about my diet. I don't think there is a perfect diet or can ever be.

Hello! Plant based nutrition has always been interesting for me. One question though: here, in the middle east, cranberries (and raspberries) are highly uncommon. We do have frozen ones, but I guess they lose most of its nutritious value once they get frozen. On the other hand, we do have fresh citrus here, such as oranges, pomeloes, lemons, clementines, grapefruits and so on.
So my question is: is replacing fresh cranberries in all the recipes with citrus can bring the same (or at list some of the) nutritious value? Thanks!

Great video!! I picked up on a lot of good facts. I came to this channel originally for my cat diet because I'm extremely annoyed that companies that use pea protein as fillers. CATS ARE OBLIGATE CARNIVORES!!! They don't hunt for peas, corn, wheat, or any plant protein other than some grass occasionally. They do not digest plant protein because their digestive track is completely different. The proof is in the pudd'n!!!
has an article that explains why pea protein for cats and dogs are bad. Taurine which is VERY important in a cats diet.... and dogs is anprotein. Ok maybe a little pea protein won't hurt but companies add pea protein in the first couple of ingredients which most of us know that means they added mostly pea protein to trick buyers into buying the earlier death sentence cat food. And never feed your cat dry cat food...BAAAADDD!! and her colleagues has great info! ***Note that FDA standards for animals are far worst than human standards. FDA standards suck at best!!
explains how pea protein and all legumes play a roll in not just cats, but humans too!
***I do have some beefs with many companies!! No pun intended!!🐄🤠🐄 And...One very important info that vegan diet requires and needs to be mentioned !!!! A vegan diet does NOT provide very much needed vitamin B12. B12 is mostly obtained by animal protein and eggs.
*** Soy is good but I once went for a breast/ mammogram exam and I had some fibrous tissue and was asked if I eat a lot of soy. At that time I did and also stopped eating animal protein for a while. When I cut the soy protein down, the fibroids went bu-by. Soy also has estrogen naturally. My ex used to eat lots of edamame & I teased him that he was going to grow boobies. I know it's not the same estrogen but too much of anything can be bad.
*** . I am so sick to death of companies adding ridiculous amounts of unnecessary sodium (& sugar) content!!!! I get migraines from too much sodium. Not to mention all the other health issues that sodium causes. I can't even buy most frozen boxed, canned, seasonings, even some breads, and some brands of ice cream because these food products contain ridiculous amounts of sodium. Who would think that ice cream and other dairy products would have so much???? Homemade ice cream is made with salt ..... on the outside of the ice cream maker... NOT added inside the recipe!! SO WHYYYY!?!?! I bought some healthier nutty rolls one time and found that they contained over 400mg of sodium for one tiny roll...REALLY???? WHYYYY?? Then when I try to find products with low or no sodium, I have to pay more. SUCH BS!! Companies are being taxed more for high sugar content products and alcohol so why not tax more for to high sodium content??? Maybe companies will cut down and consumers will also! Just say'n!! It sucks not to be able to eat what I want, taking so much time and effort to shop & search, and to find very little products with low sodium!!! I have to buy everything fresh and make it myself which I don't always have time for. NOT convenient and not always appetizing!! Even when I love cooking!!
The upside to this problem is that I stay thin and healthy.. so far! But now it stresses me out so how healthy is that??? It caused bad drinking habits.....kidding!! Just trying to make a point!!
!! Is it true that farmers that claim "no antibiotics" really means just that....NO!!! One time shopping in the meat department the butcher/employee told me that when it says "no antibiotics" that could mean "recently" and that the requirements are with in a certain time frame. Something to look into ?? Same with eggs. "cage Free" could mean raised extremely fast with mass poor chickens that can't move around because they are all touching each other.. DISGUSTINGLY SAD!!!! They are only hatched to suffer through a very short miserable existence! That's f'd up. "Pasture Raised" Chickens roam more freely!!
on Consumer Report website! also the movie or book, Food, Inc. I used to love to buy these Costco chickens. Not anymore!!!
I bring all of these subjects to light because this is a part of a consumers responsibility to do your homework before you purchase products that are not healthy and safe to consume regardless of "plant protein vs animal protein" controversies and reputable companies ......or not!!!
Sorry so long and derailed a couple of times. The moral of this long info story is that it won't matter if you choose plant or animal protein if you don't do your homework/research with reputable websites, reviews, & articles. The more consumers that practice this responsibility, hopefully more companies will be liable to offer better choices!

As much as I love Dr Greger, Its distracting to see you moving around so much because it distracts from the important message of the video.
The audio presentations were far better.

I have been watching Dr Greger for years. I totally love him (as stated in my original post). He is funny and charismatic.
I 'constantly' forward his videos on certain subjects to various people or family etc..
His previous videos (audio) with slides was very straight-forward.
But, now with his new style of videos, people tend to look at Dr Greger (rather than the important health info which is also on the screen).
I think it is wrong of you to criticize me for pointing out something which is valid.
He can do whatever he wants in his videos.
I am giving my honest feedback.
I am certain that people will be looking at Dr Greger (as he is charismatic) and they may miss-out on the written info.
Actually I am very nice to live with.
When a company updates its website, it is pretty normal to read all the feedback from customers so that they can consider it in the future.
I am in awe of Dr Greger.
And my feedback is genuine and true.
You are welcome to your own opinion too.

Have you tried the Impossible burger? Beyond Meat burgers? What about Miyoko's nut cheeses? Maybe these could help satisfy your cravings?

@@chiyerano I did not like The Beyond Burger. It's made with pea protein and I don't like peas. I can actually taste peas in the burger. I like The Impossible Burger much more but last I checked I can't find them in stores in my parts, only sold from places like Burger King and they are very expensive. The Impossible Burger has the plant based heme which helps the flavor greatly. I have not tried Miyoko's nut cheeses. I'll look for them. Thanks.

Thats the contrary, meat elevates cortisol (you eat cortisol when you eat meat and it crosses BBB), it raises stress and anxiety.

@@chiyerano I have seen with my own eyes how many vegans are unwell. That's all the evidence I need. How about giving some time to ex-vegans? No, that's not what you want to hear is it? This guy is most likely being paid by vegan activist groups and is pushing an agenda. My grandfather is 88 and has eaten meat every day of his life and yet is as fit as a fiddle. Vegans are not infallible but many are egoists, in my experience.

@@AlMondO93 Have you looked into his practice as a family and lifestyle physician? There is a difference between vegan and whole food plant based. Yes there are plenty of sick vegans and there are plenty of sick nonvegans too. Evidence backed whole food plant based is another story more often than not as people have actually successfully treated themselves of chronic illnesses with a whole food plant based diet. Plus this doctor Dr. Greger you see here in this video has mentioned how wild game meat is the best meat for people to eat based on results he found on a study on people who were on wild kangaroo diet. Dr. Greger focuses on evidence based nutrition. Like I said go look into the evidence and see for yourself.

@@chiyerano "Have you looked into his practice as a family and lifestyle physician?" So he's in it for the money and veganism is trendy right now so he knows where the dollars are to be made. Have you thought about that? For every research paper that supports and encourages a vegan lifestyle there is a paper, most often from countries that are not America, that support and encourage a meat based diet. I don't live in the US, I live in northern europe and a diet of potatos and carrots just isn't going to cut it during the winter months. A plant based diet that requires supplements is far from a perfect diet. Veganism resembles cult like and quasi-religous thinking. Vegans gravitate towards each other and confirm each other's bias, like cults do. Meat eaters don't do that, in case you haven't noticed. Notice how many people in the comments are seeking praise for their choice in what food they eat. You don't think that is bizzare?
