Iconic actor Andrew McCarthy has appeared in dozens of films including Pretty in Pink, St. Elmo's Fire, Less Then Zero, Weekend At Bernie's and The Joy Luck Club. On television, McCarthy co-starred for two seasons on Lipstick Jungle (where he also worked as a director). And in the theater, he has starred on Broadway in the Tony Award winning play, Side Man, and in The Boys of Winter.
In a parallel career, Andrew is also an award winning travel writer. An editor-at-large at National Geographic Traveler, he has written for The New York Times, The Atlantic, The Wall Street Journal, Slate, Travel+Leisure, Men's Journal, Bon Appetit, National Geographic Adventure, and others. The Society of American Travel Writers named him their 2010 "Travel Journalist of the Year," and in 2011 he won their "Grand Award."
