    Totally agree on Lightning Racer on how the ride is treated. When I became an enthusiast in 2016, this thing was called one of the best wooden roller coasters in the world, not just America. When I rode it I loved the ride. When people started hating on this ride I was surprised! I like how the park actually takes the racing aspect seriously and I love when a wooden coaster has a wooden structure as well! Just makes the ride look massive.

    Thank you for giving Cyclone some love! It’s one of those rides like Phoenix that just builds and builds as it goes along. Relentless laterals and sooo much stand-up airtime. Without a doubt one of the best in North America that more thoosies should come and appreciate.

    Appreciate you giving Intimidator a shoutout...I finally rode it for the first time just two days ago and was impressed by its speed, smoothness and great airtime. I watched a few Carowinds videos beforehand to best prepare our visit (knowing Fury 325 is wordclass), and most videos didn't really give Intimidator much credit.
    Well, it was inoperable for the first half of the day, but when it opened, the queue non-existent as I walked on to the front row with no wait.
    Although it's not as intense as Fury, I was surprised by how good of a coaster it was!

    Stormrunner is easily the most underrated coaster Ive ridden. It has 80% of the airtime of skyrush, but with much better "filler" elements, and hydraulic launches are stupid fun. Also Wicked's zero g roll gives powerful and sustained flojector airtime throughout the entire roll, and craps over any inversion on Twisted Colossus or Twisted Timbers.

    • @GriddleMeThis
      @GriddleMeThis Před rokem

      80% of the airtime of skyrush ? The top hat is def great in the back row and the snake dive has great laterals and I love the ride all around but def not even close to 80% of the airtime of skyrush. That things like a bucking bronco with it ejector trying to throw you out of the train. I’m happy to have them both at my home park and I’m happy I get to ride them both a few times a week though both great rides

  • @TheNinjaDC
    @TheNinjaDC Před rokem +2

    I feel Batwing gets more praise as it stands out more at its park.
    Flying Dutchman's as a whole are fun (and very forceful) rides, but are very much a prototype design filled with jank. Their restraints, backwards flying system, and terrible capacity even with a switch track.
    Still, their vertical loops are amazing!

  • @themeparksofamerica
    @themeparksofamerica Před rokem +1

    I feel like Silver Bullet at Knott's Berry Farm needs some love, it's a really good inverted B&M and the lines rarely get over 20 minutes. How does Coast Rider get more love than Silver Bullet when Silver Bullet is a very good B&M invert and Coast Rider is just a wild mouse that will kill your legs.

  • @CoasterSn00p
    @CoasterSn00p Před rokem +1

    Goliath @ SFOG is a killer! One of the greatest rides ever to be called "mid-tier." Crazier that it's no longer the best ride in the state, imo.
    Those ninth row rides are insane, so many different types of forces at max level, and its pace is more akin to an RMC or Intamin than other B&Ms. I never got the "roughness" thing. It's my home B&M hyper and in my experience I have to really focus to notice any kind of rattle. It's there, but I feel it's greatly exaggerated by enthusiasts. Some of you don't ride woodies and it shows.
    At 71 credits, it's my favorite B&M hyper over Mako and Intimidator. (Sacrilege time -- I have it over Fury in my rankings, making it my favorite B&M coaster. I don't think I got good rides on Fury).

    I really enjoyed Lightning Racer both times I've ridden it, I appreciate the uniqueness of a Twister dueling coaster as opposed to an out an back like most are.
    Even on T3, I've thought the layout of the SLC was far from the problem, the execution of late 90s Vekoma did the ride model in. I haven't been on Great Nor'Easter but I could see it being a very solid ride.

  • @adammills8087

    It takes me two hours to get from my doorstep to the front gate at Carowinds -- so, I consider it to be one of my home parks (though that may be a bit of a stretch). It has been my most visited park - grew up going to it, and presently I go there regularly. I ride Nighthawk and Intimidator all the time -- so, I love that you have both of them in this ranking. I commented before on one of your other videos of how I firmly believe that Nighthawk is underrated -- actually criminally underrated. I have no complaints about this coaster whatsoever -- it's never been rough all the times that I've ridden it over the years. I love how disorienting it is. I love the flying sensation that it provides -- and the vertical loop is a great inversion -- love it. Good, fun coaster. I'm a big defender of Intimidator (coincidentally, as I'm writing this I'm wearing an Intimidator T-shirt). I've ridden it many times where the trims have been unnoticeable, and when they are, I really don't care. I love this coaster, trims and all. I don't think Intrimidator is a plausible nickname for it. The first drop gives me that great falling sensation in my gut almost as heavily as the first drop on Fury. The coaster maintains good speed for the first half of its layout, which I appreciate. I love the high camel back hills that provide great floater airtime. The turnarounds in the first half of the ride are great. Yes, the coaster does die down after the mid-course brake run, but the first half of the ride has been so good that I don't really mind -- and it still has some fun enough moments in the second half. I think Intimidator is a great coaster, and my third favorite at Carowinds after Fury and Afterburn. I rode the Coney Island Cyclone at Luna Park when I was eleven years (I think it was 1980), and it was the most frightening roller coaster ride of my life -- both my brother and I came very close to being ejected from the train -- and I mean that literally. It was the first time in my life that I had ever felt fearful of my safety when riding a roller coaster. That coaster threw my brother's body and my body all over the place. We spent almost no time planted in our seats throughout the entire ride. We were both holding on for dear life until the break run. We were both about to cry. I thought it was going to be like riding any other wooden roller coaster I had ridden up to that point, but I was heavily mistaken. It was relentless and truly terrifying for me at the time. I'm looking forward to going down to Six Flags Over Georgia this spring -- can't wait to ride Goliath. It looks like a great coaster -- and I've heard a lot from others about it being a top-notch hyper coaster.

    I honestly think Hershey has the single best lineup. Parks like CP and MM have a lot of filler coasters just to have a coaster. Rides like Gemini, Corkscrew, Rougarou etc. but Hershey all their rides are very solid and good. Especially with WR opening later this year all their rides can be top 3 in most parks.

    L Racer was THE big surprise on my first Hershey visit in 2011. The trick does lose punch after a couple of rides, but it's so amazing to see, intricate. And it had been so long since riding a like-new woodie.

      Most people agree that Goliath has a great layout, but it's one of the roughest B&M Hypers. And of course people will prefer ArieForce One over Goliath, for the same reason they prefer Steel Vengeance over Diamondback, Iron Gwazi over Mako, and Zadra over Shambhala. It's ejector Vs floater.

    Also on Intimidator. It was super fun!!! I got two rides on it in the back and I was astonished by the sustained airtime. Ejector on the drop, some floater and some flojector the rest of the way through consistently. Even the part after the mid course has one good forceful turn. @Paolo8772 Před rokem

    I love the start of this: I'm visiting Carowinds for my very 1st time in less than 3 days. It's nice hearing a good review for my 1st Flying Dutchman. I'm so old: to me Flying Dutchman is the title to a Wagner opera.
    Intimidator is even more my kinda ride, but from what I've seen and experienced it looks to be a weak (albeit smooth) B&M hyper, but nothing I'd think is better than any other I've ridden, which all beat Leviathan. Yes, you heard me correctly: So far: for me Leviathan is worse than Behemoth, Raging Bull and Even Nitro. So I'm not exactly expecting Intrimidator (which I dislike more because of the layout than the trims) to exactly wow me to Behemoth level, especially when Fury 325 is supposed to BLOW EVERY B&M OUT OF THE WATER, and in the same park. So far the only coaster I've ridden better than Fury 325 is Steel Vengeance. But I don't know that yet, so I'll tell you after I've come back from Carowinds, which I'm planning on finally visiting for my 1st time from Tuesday though Friday this week.
    If you think the undersized B&M hyper Goliath at SFOG is underrated, consider Goliath at La Ronde in Canada's Six Flags Park. It has 3 untrimmed camelbacks after the initial drop and is also the world's most beautiful coaster to look at, even if it doesn't have the steep downward helix turnaround that the other Six Flags B&M junior hyper has. For me the best B&M hyper layouts are the two Goliaths, Diamondback and Silver Star combining their best elements into a into a Fury 325 sized sized layout.
    But I'l admit they're all based on coasters I've never even ridden, YET. Thanks for posting!

    Trim Breaks because

    But for me that trim breaks is pretty important because the Limit for Minimum Vertical Gs is

    Maybe thats why some if Rollercoaster Enthusiast Hurtfully and Painfully called it as InTRIMidator
