He forgot to mention that heavily subsidized daycare helps both parents work full-time.
Did my yearly routine health check yesterday. I have a bad shoulder that will need a couple of months with a physiotherapist.
It's gonna cost me around $80. I happily pay more taxes (32% income tax) for the ease of having affordable healthcare, amongst many other things.
...and Swedes are more productive in 8 hours day/40 hour weeks than most countries with 80 hour work week.
The inflation did hit Scandinavia too. I think one or two percent more than the US. Wages seems to be on the rise.
The strange thing is that many of these good things in different European countries was invented in the US a long time ago, but have been abandoned in America... I suppose in the name of corporate profits... but I might be wrong.
There are states in the US where there are a bottle deposit systems, but I think the old national system disappeared in the 30s.
