Hi, my name is Jen I am 44 and live in Connecticut with my husband and 8 year old son. I am a stay-at-home Mom and full-time CZcamsr with a degree in business with a focus in marketing. Before leaving work when my son was born, I was a commercial lender at a bank. I also worked at Sephora and Macy's doing visual merchandising.
I have dry skin with some hyperpigmentation and fine lines. I love natural makeup looks but occasionally go outside my comfort zone a little bit. On my channel you'll find lots of videos about drugstore makeup and drugstore dupes (those are my favorites to film!) but I also review high-end makeup as well. Also just some wear time notes:
1.The Benefit Mascara didn't smudge on me...yay!
2. The TirTir foundation held up beautifully all day. I'm so glad I bought the silver one.
3. The Colourpop lip balm did start to tingle after a few minutes, but it was very mild.
4. The Colourpop blush had an average wear time with a little bit of fading by the end of the night.
5. The Nomad palette held up great on my eyes until I took my makeup of at night.

I just realized No Buy July is a lot easier for Jen because she gets sent everything! Way harder for me…which is why I have failed at it already.
I'm still holding out, started June 1st, but it's haaaard as I am in the midst of switching out powder for cream/liquid products and still haven't found the perfect colour & texture cream bronzer, no holy grail blushes....luckily I did found the perfect 'wet sheen' cream champagne coloured highlighter, so I can put that one out of my mind for now* (*as a second drugstore/Indie one would be nice as this one comes from Korea).
What makes it more difficult is that I already failed epically in regards to my perfume promise. After 9 months of not buying perfume (the goal was at least a year, preferably more, as I'm a huge fragantophile and already have a major collection) I broke down after I was stupid enough to watch one of my favourite Frag CZcamsrs: 3 days back I ordered three new fragrances, two backup bottles for perfumes that are close to empty and - yeah, yeah, I know - twenty 5ml decants. Granted, these are Middle Eastern fragrances, so the financial 'damage' for all that is comparable to only 2 Western perfumes, or 1 niche, but still... I'm a little disappointed in myself. That money was meant for more useful things. Luckily, perfume has a great effect on my mental state, my mood (as it does on all people, but the effect is greater when you're stressed or sad, or ill), so I'll enjoy it for sure. Let's focus on that 😊. I hope you'll love your buys, and feel great when wearing it. Just make August your no buy again 😅.
And if you fail again, just know I am pretty sure I'll cave for the makeup too when I see nice blushes I need, or finally find an affordable natural looking, cool toned cream bronzer that gives a gorgeous sheen, similar to the Nyx butterbronzer. (The ELF putty was a major disappointment as it was grey. A contour, not a bronzer. Plus it barely has any pigment, the lightest at least).

Me, too.😊 Bought some Nature Republic Honey Melting Gloss Balms and the new excellent Wet'n Wild lip oils which I prefer to the Dior ones. I am just trying to **limit** my spending. However, Amazon Prime Days don't make it any easier.🤷♀️🤦♀️
@@misssunnydeehang in there and do your best every month. But only buy the things you really love! You really love fragrance since felt you need those so that’s ok. My weakness is blush! And bronzer. I love it! Especially creams. I think I have most brands (non drugstore mostly) so if you are looking for that I may be able to help. From a normal person who loves and has been wearing g makeup for a very long time. I have dry skin for reference. All creams are not the same so it would depend on what kind of finish you want. Let me know if you want to discuss.
I love watching the new products and the swatches. Sometimes even if I don't want to buy makeup I just enjoy looking at the products!
Changing up your blush placement based on Rose-Marie Swift's suggestion flatters your face beautifully! You look so radiant and youthful! I have also started applying my blush this way, and I get so many more compliments on my makeup.
This is an especially welcome relief today and a refreshing distraction. ❤ Settling in to watch. 😊

Since you're doing no buy, would you consider doing what Emily Noel did and do a back of the draw vid? I was also thinking doing a video on just one product like mascara. Talk about which one you find better over another and who would benefit from each. Blush and lipstick would be interesting.

I would use that revlon brush to grab foundation from a cushion foundation and dot it on my face. That Tirtir looks beautiful on you.

Love that you're sticking to No Buy July! I've heard another YTer promote the Milani Make It Last setting spray with SPF as an SPF product all on its own, applied on bare skin with a sponge. I tried it as a finishing spray, knowing it contained chemical sunscreen elements as well as alcohol, bc I desired an easy to apply SPF booster for my summertime looks. Well, let me tell you how much my rosacea/sensitive skin did NOT like it! Too much alcohol, and since I never use chemical sunscreens, I developed a sensitivity to it and got to see my eyelids swell up and my carefully applied 5-shadow look melted into runny puddles almost immediately after a light misting with this stuff. 😜 The swelling lasted a few days. Never again! Thanks for the video and Happy Sunday!

So sorry that happened to you! I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone even if they didn’t have sensitive skin. It’s SO oily that if you apply it to your makeup it’s is super glowy and breaks down your products which defeats the purpose of a “setting” spray. Honestly, the 2 or 3 SPF sprays I’ve tried have all been super oily and not worked over makeup.
Youch! Beauty of Joseon makes a SPF in stick form that’s very gentle with matte finish. I use it for touch ups. I saw Jen had an iHerb code, they stock it
As a mature gal with very oily skin, I'm actually pretty excited about that new O/S oil controlling primer.

I am behind in my video watching-as usual- but I just had to stop here in the middle to tell you that you set off the BEST memory of my mother, when you said "FWEE"!!!! She would say that in place of "wee" whenever she would push one of her grandchildren in a swing. At first, when I heard you say it, it produced a giggle, then the memory flooded, and I just have to thank you!!!!😊😂 also the MixSoon beauty brand does "one ingredient" components. So the red bean essence, for instance, has just that in it for the active ingredient. You won't find anything that has more than 1 thing for an active ingredien, along with whatever is needed to make it into a solution.

I love the Milani blush stick color! I can’t do anything too orange on my face, so having a bit of pink makes this more user friendly for me.

Tried the colourpop blush in two shades, i did not expect it to be greasy but it was, felt like Vaseline on my face and never sunk in. So just a warning to oily skin people, stay far away.
Thanks for letting us know...very helpful! On my dry skin they sink in a lot more without the greasiness. 🥰

Update* I tried and failed to get a refund, replacement or even a discount code from colour pop. Let the buyer beware. BUT ❤ I did try the Fwee blush and lip tint and it's fabulous. Matt and lasts for at least six hours in summer Texas heat even on my problematic oily skin. Thank you Jen 🙏🙏🙏❤️

Francis Kurkdjian, same Perfumer that created EA Green Tea, later created Baccarat Rouge 540. I still like the Elizabeth Arden Green Tea fragrance and White Tea fragrance.
The peach kopari is my favorite also. And I did try it in my hair because they say you can. Just so you know, I typically have normal to dry hair and it feels very nice. It's not at all oily and it's also not drying. That peach one lasts in the hair for days. (I only wash it once a week). The marabella bloom is way too old lady floral to me. I prefer fruity florals but that's a hard no for me. The other two are warm, blue being more coconut and the yellow more vanilla. Both are lovely as well. And for those colourpop blushes if anyone is curious, I went to see them in person, the swatches do not look like Jen's swatches in person. The IKTR and the Thx are very neutral/cool,purpley/ mauve. I bought both of them. Beautiful ❤️

As I mentioned, I have never tried anything from them before and the product just says, "base" it doesn't explain what it is. The word "base" can mean so many things. "Eye Base" would have been helpful!

I purchased the new Colourpop blush and just used it yesterday. I got a darker color than yours and at first it seemed great and pigmented but it disappeared after 10 minutes. I added more and I had the same experience. Keep us posted on what you thought of the wear time. Great video btw!!

the p. louise eyeshadow bases are very well known and adored for good reason. the colourpop liquid blushes look so pretty, and i want to try the new lip oils as well. i love their new liners and the shades are beautiful, and i hope they start to expand the shade range. i loveeee nomad’s eyeshadows and i can’t wait for haunted europe and ghost town usa to restock, and now i reallllly need to get the stargazing palette as well!!! the badgal bang mascara is one of my favorites, and i always buy a couple when i see them on the yearly ulta sale. omg, the rise and shine fragrance sounds absolutely delicious!!! the fwee lip and cheek colors are soooo pretty, and i love the cute pots they come in. your makeup looks absolutely beautiful. 💗💗💗
