Haven’t worn sunscreen for over 10 years, after hitting menopause and only having natural products on my skin…. Coconut oil on it’s own gives you an amazing tan, with a smidge of protection 😊

Apparently Shea butter (but you want to get the unprocessed one, it has more benefits overall) has a natural sun protection of SPF 7 if I remember correctly. You may try it if you want, plus it's amazing for the skin AND it's also less comedogenic than coconut oil (some people report coconut clogs their pores, I have that issue sadly and can't use it, Shea seems to not do it for me at least).

I'm not sure why people think getting sun on your skin is a bad thing; it's completely healthy... I love your content - your family - bought your book. You don't need sunscreen. Yea, it hurts for a few days than your fine and your body is healthier. And, we probably both agree that store bought stuff is more cancerous and dangerous than anything your making - for sure. In fact, Johnson and Johnson and some other companies just had a massive lawsuit for sunscreen products that cause skin cancer while promising they will protect you from the sun that causes skin cancer... lol Just go out in the sun and have a good day. I do collect and dry and use a TON of chamomile though - mostly for tea. Love your content - not trying to be an asshole. Just trying to tell you, the sun is your friend.

We were all warned against the sun by pseudo science, backed by big pharma

Its not perfectly healthy to overexpose to UV light it ages your skin much faster, breaks down collagen and causes oxidative stress, however benzene in sunscreens is loads more carcinogenic (its also in car emissions)

I think it depends on a skin type honestly. I didn't wear sunscreen for over a month this year (I never needed is a a kid, but from couple years for some reason I get sunburn easily). It was like a torture for the whole time, got blisters and all nasty stuff all over my face. I don't usually put anything on my body, I've been fine all around but face is a must. My mom never used any kind of sun protection tho so I know it's possible, just most likely not for everybody. It's like coconut oil clogging pores for some people while others claim it helps them, just different skin type.

Btw, I only use organic mineral sunscreen from a company that claims not to put any nasty stuff into them. Never used chemical or any cheap stuff from a drugstore. Not everything that is natural is good for everybody (mentioned coconut oil, aloe vera leaf for some people for example), and not everything that isn't 100% natural is automatically "dangerous and cancerous".

Skin cancer is often caused by sun damage. It’s very well researched.

flavonoid pigments in the dlowers naturally reflect ultraviolet light, so it adds to the protective effect
