When using push to connect fittings you must measure and mark the copper pipe for the distance that the fitting needs to be pushed on otherwise you won’t really know if you have it on far enough.

You also need to ream your pipe so you you don’t mess up the o-ring in that push to connect fitting. If you cut the o-ring, it will leak.
