+wr1swd84 I thought he looked uncomfortable during some of the pre-fight pressers but when he walked to the ring on fight night he looked so chilled I began to wonder if he was on something. He looked pretty relaxed pacing around & eyeballing Klitschko before the bell too.
wr1swd84 Yes he looked keyed up during the first round (I guess most fighters do, even Klitschko) but the twitching you mentioned was actually part of his strategy to keep moving and feinting, to disorientate Klitschko and not offer him a clean target. It obviously worked, and Wlad himself said that he didn't get the punches off because he couldn't find his range due to Tyson's constant movement and stance switching. Wlad has allays been a cautious fighter and wouldn't risk piling in without a clean target; Team Fury had clearly read his book.

Klitschko was unnerved in the build up because he could see Fury's confidence and belief was real, unlike Haye who was lying to everyone including himself, he was a what you call a scared nervous bitch, just like Wlad was when he fought Fury. Nerves don't really effect Fury like they do with everyone else. And the twitching your going on about was part of the head movement and Fury's constant feinting and moving which threw Wlad even more, he didn't feel comfortable throwing punches. Both defensively very good fighters so already a chess match but Wlad couldn't deal with someone that was bigger and quicker than him that wouldn't give him the time or position to land his shots. Tactically it was a masterful performance by Fury and his team
Physically Prepared so mentally prepared = confident with minimal nerves.

+Adrian Morton I always thought Vitali retired a couple of fights too early, would love to have seen him take one last BIG fight to bring the curtain down. There wasn't much out there for him to choose from, perhaps Haye would have been a good grudge match. Seeing how he kept his condition for the first couple of years after retirement, and with his Champion Emeritus status, made me think he was leaving the door open for a comeback; sadly seeing him now it's obvious he has totally adopted the office lifestyle and has no intention of considering it. But for me he will always be remembered as the tougher and stronger of the two brothers, both physically and mentally.

Fury made me a believer after his performance beating and outsmarting Wlad. The fight wasn't very exciting but he went to a hostile place and won the undisputed championship from a champ who had been ruling for a decade freaking made me eat my words saying Wlad would destroy Fury. I was only thinking that because of the life and death struggle he had with USS Cunningham. Man Fury has become a complete fighter now after just being the destroyer vs the highly overrated and protected Wilder. Wilders nickname should not be The Bronze Bomber it should be The Excuse.
It wasn't just the overt pressure of the biggest fight of his career that he played off with totally calm, it was also the covert pressures that must have been way more challenging... even things like knowing he had to ask his dad for water, which had to be protected like crazy, keeping it all sealed and concealed from the Klitschko's so that it wasn't spiked. Fury played it all off the way he does the pressure in the ring. Amazing mentality.

Those wraps and gloves is such a process. So how did Margaritto get away with the plaster in wraps?
It was something already on the tape that when combined with moisture makes the wraps go rock hard, so they could of wrapped his hands which would of looked perfectly normal, then before he put his gloves on put water on them and they’d turn rock hard once the gloves were on.
