Great review, agree with all points. Great affordable reel. I have 2 of the 4/5 on echo 4 & 5wt rods, and the 6/8 on an Echo 6wt rod. Along with multiple spare spools. Dirt cheap way to have every line you ever need ready to pop onto reels. Drag works just fine and actually impressive with 20" plus rainbows, brooks and cutties. And the occasional bull. Getting a Carbon XL Euro soon and will run the Ion reel only because of the spec for mono rig line not getting caught up in the reel. All the $ I didn't spend on reels went into a ton of tying materials, etc.. No regrets with the Base at all! Just subscribed as well.
