- Very simple video today! The title says it all. The entire video, from start to finish, is just me mowing my lawn with my Toro Greensmaster 1000. The lawn has recovered quite nicely from the verticutting a few weeks back. Enjoy the mow everyone.

Oh I can’t wait to sit down and watch this whole video
I’d hate to be your neighbor……hahaha. Feel like I would have to step up my lawn game looking at yours. 😂
First Aussie 😁. Rhett, good to see you enjoying your lawn Therapy. 😎
Great video! Grass is looking tough.
Reminds me of the CWS Ump cam. I like it, and I don't like it :) Really love your videos brother!
🔥 🔥 🔥 definitely digging the music..
A comment on an old video, I know, but two questions (I'm in North Austin btw): A lawn routine like this is a dream but not in the cards currently, but I do want a healthy lawn: at what point does one stop bagging clippings and start mulching them instead? In the summer I'm mowing every 5-6 days maybe with my rotary mower, and filling 1-2 yard bags easy. Would I mow more often and mulch instead of bag? Second, how do you prevent the Bermuda from infiltrating your under window/tree beds? They look flawless and mine are a disaster all the time haha. Love your channel, been subscribed for years!
First thing I would say is that I didn't stop bagging on my "routine" mows because I got my lawn to a satisfactory spot, I did it out of sheer convenience. Now with that being said, if your lawn is a complete salad bar, I would continue to collect your clippings until you had that under some sort of control. As far as my beds and tree rings, I dug them out our very first year in the house. They do a fantastic job of preventing bermuda from spreading at will. As far as maintenance goes, I just edge around the perimeter once a week or so.
a charity mow!
Dude the timing of this video couldn't have been better! I just picked up a California Trimmer on Saturday, my first powered reel mower. I did a full scalp at 0.5" and plan to maintain between 0.75" - 1" the rest of the year. This video helped me figure out what to do with a few spots that confused me.
Question, what's the harm in mowing to and over the sidewalk, turning around on the sidewalk, and starting the reel while still on the sidewalk and pushing through onto the grass?
Glad it was helpful! There’s no harm in it if your lawn and sidewalk/driveway are level. But my turf sits a few inches above my sidewalk in several spots.
@@LawnInsider Ok cool. I wasn't sure if it was bad for the reel or if that was the reason. Mine looks pretty level, so I'll try it a few times. If it scalps, I'll start mowing like you go.
Thanks Rhett!
Is this footage slowed down? I pretty much sprint behind my JD 220SL 😂
😂 nope that’s real time speed.
Your neighbors yard has lots of weeds just like my neighbor. When I treat my yard I also overspray into the neighbors yard about 3 feet to keep the weeds at bay.
100% facts. My neighbor is this way too
Looks like the fertilizer is getting there, It looks a lot greener.
God the neighbor weed fest lol
I got a question can I use hydretain right now in the hottest temperatures in summer
Yes, you can. I actually just applied it about a week ago. Just make sure you follow the application instructions.
@@LawnInsider thank you for your response I live in Conroe tx and we cooking over here 😂
Can you do a hoc reset if you just applied pgr or do you have to wait till it wears off
I would wait it out. You could do it, but it’ll just take longer to fill in.
Great yard man! I don't know how you put up with the neighbors yards looking like shit and when they do mow, how do you put up with them throwing clippings into your yard?
Hey rhett, what kind of edger do you use?
I use power rotary scissors that I attach to my 40V Ryobi trimmer.
I see ur house also has the grass yellowing against the brick. Is this from the heat or some kind of fungus. Thx and keep the vids coming!
I think his scissors aren't doing that great a job on the edging? Was thinking light issue but it's only right up against where he don't mow.
I think it’s just the fact that I edge/trim once a week so that grass is getting taller between each trim, so when I cut it down as low as the turf, it’ll brown. And probably a bit more shade to a certain extent.
How do you keep it that low while green?
I tried to “train” my Bermuda grass to be at 1 1/2” but the brown section came up so I had to raise my mower to the next notch up and then the same thing happened. I mow it every 3 days so I don’t understand what I could be doing wrong.
Mine stays green because I scalp it well below where I maintain it. Once the brown starts showing up after mows, gotta scalp again, unfortunately. Or raise the HOC like you did.
Thanks for the info! I really appreciate it.
Nice masterpiece!!! Hey I’m in Cibolo how many minutes are you running sprinkler ?? and are you doing every other day ??with this heat 103 over here yesterday 🥵 😊
That would depend on your soil, how fast does it run off. Short cycles not long cycles
Thanks for the help really appreciate it
The music hurts me ears
