    A wonderful walk around. Nice quality video. As for the boat itself? All the exterior wood work is in horrible condition and requires major restoration/rework. Also the fiberglass is equally in poor condition. Though both require major rework and restoration, with enough money, all can be restored to incredible condition. The interior is in good shape, with one a few styling updates needed. I do love the transom and dingy stowage. All together this is a wonderful boat. I hope the purchasers were able to accomplish all the required restorations to make this an incredible world cruising sailing yacht.

    Imagine this boat but instead of the useless crew cabin you have the forward cabin head there, and more storage in the cabin or a larger dining area. Seems like these designers hadn't learned much by 1999 and they still haven't learned much. This is one of the reasons why catamarans are taking over, because monohulls seem to be designed to be even more cramped than they need to be.

    I really like a pilot house with external helm arrangement. But not twin ones. Finish detail is nice too, but I'm not too crazy about the below decks forward arrangement. As previously noted, electronics and general electrical system needs replacement; maybe water maker and generator too. 20 year old MAN diesel? Maybe that too. The boat is a bit big for a single mast, a staysail schooner would be better. Maybe with a brigantine type single square furling topsail to eliminate any spinnaker & its associated handling (this is supposed to be a short-handed global cruiser, yes?) I like the hydraulics system though. Probably would be a better deal to spend 650 grand on it with a half million in additional reno costs, instead of a new HR 64 which doesn't even have a pilot house. Would depend on the condition, form, and construction method of the f/g hull. Would prefer a custom BR 765 in steel (or monel...) But not at 5 times the price.

    Amazing yacht. I love it except for the main. That table and 4 chairs set up has got to go.
    I prefer a more traditional U shaped sitting area. I think it is more flexible and just more comfortable overall.
    On a boat of this size & quality, that's a minor detail though. A good craftsman and a few thousand $$ would get that sorted out.
    If I had the money, I would go for a high quality yacht that's a few years older, just like this one, over something brand new that has cut corners to keep costs reasonable.
    A high quality build lasts the life of the boat.
    With a quality older yacht, you can go through and update electronics or dated systems.
    If they cut corners on the original build, you can never fix that.

    • @brokerhc
      @brokerhc Před 4 lety +3

      I totally agree. Great looking yacht and well designed interior. I would get rid of the four chairs the minute I signed the title documents and replace it with a curved sofa and maybe a smaller rectangular table. I also question the design of two helmstations in the cockpit and then a third inside the pilot house. The pilothouse helm station is a great addition for ocean cruising but maybe one center helm station in the cockpit would have been enough. Experience tells me that one single freezer,cooler appliance is a risk on long passages. Having two separate units gives you an advantage in case one fails in the middle of the ocean.
