I'm a little excited! I'm kind disappointed that it's going to be a soft reboot and some of the original writers are not coming back. However, I'm glad they kept the cast, and Disney is allowing Marvel keep the mature rating for the series.
Somewhat concerned, it needs to be able to be more gory. Assuming it’s a soft reboot that especially sucks, they had such a good thing going already

Have to say I'm pretty bummed you're not gonna watch Jessica Jones on camera cause S1 is sooo good!! Maybe don't record the whole show and just season 1? It's nicely self-contained so there wouldn't be a problem doing S2 and S3 off camera.

Pretty much they will be watching s3 soon but to get context they will have to watch The Defenders first. Then to have background of the other characters there, they will have to also watch Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist or they could just do research. But yeah I sure hope they watch and react to the other series as well.

Guess what? Daredevil Season 2 takes place a couple months before Tom Holland's Peter Parker became Spider-Man. Daredevil Season 2 starts 8 months after Fisk was sent to prison (February to October 2015), and Peter got bitten by the spider that gave him spider powers on December 2015, six months before Captain America Civil War, Black Panther and Black Widow.
Oh, to answer your question: "Is Turk Barrett from the comics?" Yes, he is. In the Daredevil comics, (the old ones, 70's and 80's) he was a comic relief villain, usually. He was a small-time crook who has been associated with Eric Slaughter, Kingpin, and the Thunderbolts. He once stole the Mauler armor in a failed attempt to fight Daredevil. He later managed to steal the Stilt-Man armor, wounded Daredevil, and offered his services to the the Kingpin, but Fisk contended that he did not employ "idiots" and turned him down. The original creator of the Stilt-Man armor, Wilbur Day, contacted Daredevil with information on how to defeat Barret. Turk Barrett spent much of his time at Josie's Bar with his friend Grotto (Yes, Grotto appeared in the comics too) who often reluctantly participates in Turk's schemes.

Do still recommend you guys still watch JJ at-least S1, show-wise JJ is okay but S1 is the best season out of any marvel netflix show, it concludes nicely as-well so you don't need to watch JJ S2 and S3 as S1 JJ is stand-alone ish.

Not that his character would help the Avengers because he's a psychopathic narcissist who only cares for himself but it's funny to think about if he went against the entire army of Thanos, madness would begin.

I'm showing up to say that Jessica Jones needs to be reacted to, it's my second favorite Marvel/Netflix show (first is Daredevil) and has my favorite main character out of all Marvel/Netflix shows and also my favorite villain on S1. I sometimes change and say it's Fisk, but this one comes close *close* second. I'm totally down for it if you guys do.
Ahhh I love season 2 so much and in this episode we have the introduction to one of my favourite characters !! You don't seem to know who it is so I won't spoil it but he's so freaking cool I love him !!

You guys probably already know this, but DareDevil was the very 1st of the Netflix Marvel shows, so it was sort of a testing ground, per se. Once season 1 became a big hit, then yes, I think they upped the ante in season 2 as would be expected for most shows. In fact, I personally liked season 2 more than season 1. Even if you do not do a react to Jessica Jones, you will still want to see it and all the other Marvel Netflix shows (now all on Disney+)in order, especially before you see The Defenders, because it will make the journey and final destination that much more satisfying. Plus, all the shows have some story and character crossovers. Yes, it is not required, but you will still get a momentary thrill when you see different character arcs crossing over. Speaking of biker gangs, you may enjoy the tv show Sons of Anarchy, if you have not already yet seen it. Also, there is a 90's movie called "Stone Cold", you guys might like.
They definitely need to finish season 3 of this before they get into The Defenders. Never got Jessica Jones. So many people loved it. I got halfway through season 1 and it wasn't making an impression. I wish I could get the appeal.
I feel like Darwdevil got better every season. Season 3 was mu absolute favorite.
@@andromedaspark2241 I think you meant they need to finish season 2 before The Defenders. DareDevil season 3 came after The Defenders. I would list the other shows and seasons that came after The Defenders too, but that may give away a spoiler. Honestly, I liked Jessica Jones season 1 slightly better than Daredevil season 1. I did not think Jessica Jones season 2 was as good, but season 3 was killer good.
@@melodramatic7904 I personally think The Defenders actually helped elevate each show more afterwards. But, Daredevil was definitely the most consistent and upward trending of all the shows each season. After that, would be Jessica Jones & then Luke Cage and Iron Fist are a toss-up for me on which was better because they each their own pros and cons. I liked Jessica Jones season 1 more than season 2, but then season 3 got really good. Interestingly enough, I liked the overall story of Iron Fist season 1 more than season 2, but the fighting choreography, action, and overall filming style definitely got better in season 2 and by the end of the finale, I was actually pretty interested in a season 3 & was upset hearing there would be no season 3.

Oh and that 'it's one man' entrance was fairly epic! Love the way we expect to see the guy standing on the ledge at the end... but the camera holds on the empty air. Seems minor but it stood out to me for some reason. 🤔

The Punisher. See DD is in The Defenders. A super team. So you need to watch all the shows Netflix did. The Punisher, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist. I also recommend watching Legion, Agents of Shield, Agent Carter. Legion I highly recommend because he is Charles Xavier's son. That show is really cool.
While you are at it why not recommend Inhumans? That way their brain can hurt real bad.

Yeah, Turk is from the Frank Miller run of Daredevil. Unlike here, Turk and Grotto were kind of partners. They even got a mention in Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns" Batman limited series.

I'm begging you do Jessica Jones, at least the pilot or just the discussion or smth because it's like, one of the best marvel products out there for cast ( beside Jessica, Tennant as the villain is outstanding to me, I prefer him even to Fisk which was already incredible) storytelling, characters, cinematography even; plus it introduces Luke Cage too so it's helpful for Defenders (that you must watch before s3 of daredevil or you'll miss a big part since it's a direct sequel, could be comparable to watching Captain America civil war w/o having seen avengers 2). My point is, give it a shot, if it does badly you can always drop it and continue off camera but it's really worth a shot

I really have to throw my support behind doing S1 of Jessica Jones above all other of these shows. I really think you guys would enjoy it and that it would spark a lot of great after episode conversations. It's quite different and you guys seem to like interesting villains that aren't just cookie cutter, and it does that extremely well.

As someone who has seen all the Netflix shows I would say that all you really need to watch is daredevil and punisher. And regarding the defenders I suggest just reading a summary and maybe the last episode just to get an idea about where Matt is because that plays a big role into where we begin in season 3.
Ps.the punisher show doesn’t really intertwine with daredevil so I only suggest watching it because it’s really good 😂😂

I love season 2! Jessica Jones season 1 is my favorite season of Marvel TV, but it’s the only good season of that show. Daredevil has 3 epic seasons that keep getting better.

I'll be honest, I didn't watch DD for DD. I watched for Fisk and then for Punisher. DD was never my kind of hero but the complexity of the other characters kept me around.

Spoilers for S2!
The second season suffered in the writing and storytelling because it was a set up for Punisher show, Elektra, The Hand and for Defender’s. The punisher storyline was amazing but Elektra and The Hand, especially the Hand was bad. This season had some of the best writing and monologue with DD and Frank, but is still suffered from what I said, is still a good season because DD and Frank carried.
The third season has the best acting performance in this show, it has the best and most consistent writing, easily the best cinematography and camera work, with that prison scene with 11-12m one long shot is just ridiculous, so the third season is the best one.
When I ask from a filmmaking standpoint why S2 is better no one can tell me and it’s always the same thing, it seems that people think that more violence and bone breaking makes it better. It has the Punisher and it has darker scenes so that’s why people think it’s better, I’ve seen others say that The Punisher is better than DD and that show is amazing but it’s not better than DD, the only thing you could argue is S1 of The Punisher is better than S2 of DD, that’s it.

Still, what the people behind the creation of these show did with DD, Kingpin, Punisher, Bullseye, Jigsaw, Killgrave and amazing supporting characters was amazing. The MCU shows will never be close to this masterpiece, especially on the writing category, never.

Honestly you can start Defenders straight up after S2, just read a summary about the other 3, its only 7 eps long and more of its own individual story after the first episode. I legit just skimmed through everything else except Matt lol in Defenders and understood everything in S3. You can also just see the ending of Defenders, but ig for emotional appeal the rest of Matt's scenes become a compulsion.
