I have seen almost every reaction video to this song/video and by far this is my favorite! I still cannot believe a quartet of mid 70 year olds, who haven't recorded together in 40 years, is back with such a powerful song and message.
And blew away the competition thatâs present now, to show them how itâs done! The young musicians take note!
Never been done before. Ever.
Agnetha just turned 71 this year. The two vocals may have been recorded in 2018.
It's in their blood!
Also found out in a recent interview that Benny gave he did it could take them upto about 3 months to complete a whole song as they want everything to be perfect, if they are not happy they will not put it out on an album.
Iâve still listen to this song everyday since it was released, masterpiece.
Me to!!!
I met Agnetha 1979 backstage when I was 8 years old
Oh!you lucky one!
Wow! đ
THE LEGENDS ARE BACK CAN'T BELIEVE I'M 55. WATCHED THEM EXPLODING THROUGH THE TV SET IN 74 WITH WATERLOO, COLORFUL COSTUMES, AND BJĂRN WITH A SILVER STAR GUITAR. ABBA MY FAVE BAND SINCE 74. NO ONE CAN SHUT ABBA DOWN đ€©đ€©đ€©đ€©
Love your reaction. I saw ABBA in Sydney in 1977 as an 8 year old and I am heading to London to rock the dance floor when I see the concert in September this year.
What a great comeback...ABBA makes me smile all the time!
The lyrics are so powerful and beautiful in this one ... And the music itself - that's ABBA at their best!!!
It is truly amazing that ABBA, who are all in their 70's, can sound just as good as they did 40 years ago. Much better than the mundane rubbish being churned now, such as rap ,hip hop garage and house.
90% of everything has always been crap, itâs no worse now really - thereâs just so much more in general.
Nearly everything will come off bad against ABBA and always did.
They are the top 0.01%, above
time and genre.
Rap is not music! It's an attitude with looped instrument. Abba is musicians and great great songwriters!
It's amazing, they still have the magic â„
Although the lyrics are relatable to everyone so we connect, the song is actually about Agnetha who is the lead singer on this song, Agnetha struggled with crowds, noise and the fame back in the day to the point she became reclusive. Agnetha was the main reason ABBA didnât reunite all these years. So this is her explaining her reasons, âSheâs not the same this time around, sheâs been reloadedâ her tantrums and increasing frustrations have been tamed, sheâs fired up and doesnât want her fans to shut her down now theyâre back. Powerful song, clever and totally pure ABBA, we are so so lucky to finally have them back. Fantastic reaction đđ
I so agreed with you. Those of us who really loved ABBA knew Agnethaâs struggle with the fame and the heavy toll of their tours. And the years she lived as a recluse. I tear up every time I listen to the chorus. No real fan will ever shut them down, because they have never left and weâve all been patiently waiting for this moment.
@@alexecgooi I still canât quite believe theyâre back, itâs incredible to hear their music, Iâm so pleased their new material is still everything about ABBA we love, we will never have anything like them again.
So ABBA being senior citizens now (yeah they're all in their 70s) still schooling all of us on good music... I dunno... Somehow I feel this is such a win.
In our society we're scare shitless of aging, and "Boomer" is now the #1 slur among young people dealing with anyone only a decade older than themselves. There is such a thing as "age:ism" for sure. Well, good to have ABBA back to set the record straight. Literally.
This is such a heartfelt comment and I totally agree. I donât understand why the young generations tend to have such dismissive, disrespectful attitudes towards people older than themselves. I find older generationsâ perspective so refreshing and often full of wisdom in todayâs time with all the over-sensitive cancel culture trying to find the next thing to make a fuss over. This song just shows what amazing gifts they still bring to the table which blows the majority of todayâs music right out of the park!

IKR!
I'm gen X. I was in my high teens during the 90s, the hayday of Techno/Trance. We were the generation that was gonna stay young forever or die trying (and many did die... suicide rate among 30+ GenX:ers was HIGH around 15 years ago.) I think the ageist attitude of younger generations is a reaction to that. THEY are the young crowd now, not us. THEY are what's in now, not us. We should know our place and stop trying to be part of their crowd. And ... to some degree they are right to feel that way, I think.
And yet... in video after video I see little millennials crying tears of joy at these TRUE Boomers in their 70s, putting out 1970s retro disco music that is, apperently, timeless. It's such a beautiful thing.
ABBA is a product of Sweden. "Boomers" are an American thing.
Both Frida and Agnetha have real talent then put them together and then you get "the third voice" đ€đ
Another great reaction video đđ
đŹđ§đđ·
it was wonderful seeing how excited you were reacting to this new song by ABBA. i am twice your age and got so emotional when i heard these 2 new songs i cried like a baby. it was like seeing an old friend or relative i had not seen in 40 years. i mean what other group has ever done this before?? NO ONE. i never thought i would see this happen and ABBA gave the world a beautiful give to share with everyone. i just feel bad they waited so long to do this but so thrilled as i am a super fan and they are my fav pop group ever. this song is destined to become a classic masterpiece as only ABBA can create and deliver. viva ABBA forever!!!
Cried and danced at the same time. Amazing â€ïžđžđȘâ€ïžđžđȘâ€ïžABBA!!!!
I love this song so much! My wife is a huge ABBA fan from back in the day and this is very nostalgic!
They have the best bass line in this song. Love it!
I been a fan since Waterloo first came out..Still they still the same FANTASTIC! â€ïž THEM
I saw ABBA win the Eurovision in 1974 when I lived in England, was surprised how few people knew of ABBA when we emigrated to the US, they were HUGE in Europe. Then they were pigeonholed as âDiscoâ with their lone US #1, Dancing Queen and never recovered in the US when everyone turned against disco.
How weird would it be if they made an impact in the US charts after all this time. Unlikely but, amusing if it did happen. I still have a few of Agnethaâs solo albums đ
@tim lodge I like your positive outlook but tbh, the US music industry has stagnated significantly. There was a time genre popularity would cycle, evolve. It feels like we've been in this 'r&b'/urban/ rap/hip hop miasma for near two decades. How much is that due to corporate music control? Radio airplay plays significantly less role in music than it once did simply due to the diversification of options thanks to the internet, youtube and streaming services. That's a lot to over come. Add to that ABBA's age and from outside the US? I'm afraid that may be too many obstacles to overcome (Unless newer generations created thanks to the movies/theatre Ma Mia shows are larger than I expected).
I would disagree ABBA could play 'any kind of style'. Although Bjorn and Bennie idolize the Beach Boys and the Beatles and American Rock and Roll, they still grew up w/ the music of Northern Europe. I don't think I've ever heard them sing Blues, their attempts at out and out rock and roll are still mild in comparison (Hey Hey Helen, Rock Me). ABBA did not grow up w/ Blues, Soul or R&B in their social consciousness, they grew up w/ Schlager songs and "oom pah pah" songs which apparently Bennie still enjoys. This absence of musical roots from the States can be heard in their songs, no matter how hard they try to write their versions, it's just not in their musical DNA,
That is to say, it's not an insult that they lack this. It is in fact a positive because that meant they created a new sound 'based' on their musical goals and influences, "The ABBA Sound".
Like their Idols, The Beatles, Bjorn and Bennie, were tireless workers in the studio, inventing new sounds and engineering tricks. And like the Beatles, that resulted in music that is instantly recognizable and unique to them.
The worst thing you could be in anything is dull and copy cat. Despite their lack of blues/soul in their sound, the ABBA Sound, is and has been beloved for going on 5 decades, so they have to be doing something right? Cheers
@@HaleysTusk I think ABBA may be a little too melancholy for the american taste. I mean compared to the europeans. I think it makes them nervous. Not that they donÂŽt get/understand blues, but this is a nordic melancholy of another type.
ItŽs fun how the music industry works. The first Swede to top the Billboard list was Björn Skifs with "Hooked on a feeling." It was "just" a cover. Many years later he admitted that it had been like winning the Olympic Games without having trained for it. It happend almost by accident. Many years later the same song, even the same recording, rised to the top of the list again (that was after Lego had used it in a movie)! "This time", the witty and wise old man said, "it was like winning the olympics without even having been on the starting line!"
@@mattias5157 in an interview Bjorn said (paraphrasing) thereâs a very small window for one to speak the language of youth, in regards to pop (popular) music.
I think thatâs why ABBA has been hesitant to return to the spotlight. The music industry targets the young and puts out music they think will attract a younger audiences, thatâs what moves the financial needle for them
@@HaleysTusk Maybe... I donŽt think that ABBA cares much about things like money and success though. I think they just lived on their lives and then came back to inspiration. Of course Björn and Benny has been a lot of music in the meantime, and also "the girls" to some extent.
But I agree, we live in a world of shallowness and itÂŽs fascinating how they manage to get so immensly popular with songs that are everything but shallow.
@@mattias5157 I don't think Bjorn was talking about returning in need of money, he was just responding to his fans for decades asking them to reunite. He didn't like the thought of them marching out on stage in their old outfits singing their old songs. They're in the stage of their lives they wanted to make more mature music and he was wondering if his fans would prefer them to sing their songs from their hey days.
Then you add Agnetha's various challenges because of the super fame they experienced at their height, it is quite amazing their reunion even happened
Great reaction! Tour de force song by an amazing group. Thanks for sharing. A real moment in music history.
I think what's even more profound about this song and ABBA itself is that they sort of give us a glimpse of a lifetime coming into full circle, something most of us on CZcams will not probably experience for many more decades. And something very few if any bands of the past have either lived long enough or stayed together long enough to revelate on.
This is simply musical perfection!
Ring Ring was the first ABBA song to explode here in Brazil, back in 1975, I heard it for the first time on an LP of TV soap opera songs....since then, ABBA has always been hugely successful in the Tupiniquin lands...
If I may say it brings tears to my eyes I followed them before you were even born this song now just wrecks me a bravo bravo bravo Abba it's a masterpiece I'm 56 years old and this song mean so much to me now because they sing from the heart
...and with Joy, Joy,JOY âŁïžâŁïžâŁïžâŁïžâŁïžâŁïžâŁïžđžđȘ
Ever since I discovered ABBA my heart pounded just hearing them in radio. đ„°
The wonder of abba is that âshesâ not saying it - sheâs singing it, but the lyrics are usually the menâs! It brilliant on both perspectives/ counts.
One of the best reactions to this stomping song from the Legends. You were a joy to watch. Such enthusiasm and energy. Thank you @
Thank you for your kind words

Me encanta tu reacciĂłn ABBA inspira felicidad , nostalgia ,de todo.I Love ABBA
As ever, your reading of the message is spot on! So great to see someone your age (I'm of ABBA 's generation) appreciate their mastery of lyric and storytelling! I hope you find the time to cover the other songs on this, their last album! Thank you.
Hearing this song and the other one, really hits me deep..it's something I never thought to be witnessing. So many memories as a kid are coming full circle with ABBA coming back once more to give a warm big hug
Weeks ago that song brought me so hard to tears ....... and today that song AND your reaction did it almost more ! Thanks man ! đâ€
Glad you enjoyed it
Beautiful, thank you for sharing your reaction †Great message, great music.
Glad you enjoyed it
Great reaction to this song and those timeless heroes!!!
ABBA, proving age is just a number
The big global news of this 21st century for the music world is the return of the legendary Swedish pop group ABBA to the recording studios after more than 35 years (the last was "The day before you came") and the edition of his new songs after 39 years (the last was "Under attack") and a new album after almost 40 years (the last was "The Visitors")
Beyond that these three data are for the Guines Book of records (I believe that No Group or Singer or Artist can come close to these incredible brands), the most remarkable thing is How they returned, with what level of quality And I must say that ABBA overcame all fears, doubts and expectations Their return is shocking and his quality is still valid
"Don't shut me down"
it's another surprise from ABBA
A pop song was expected, but there were reservations and fears for what it could be (and here I include doubts to the voices of the girls due to their age) And we find a magnificent work
The beginning is with Agnetha's voice attacking with the pleasant company of the piano. What Agnetha does in that introduction is anthology, exquisite modulating and using different nuances with her mature voice.
Until Benny's signature piano glint (nod to the mega hit "Dancing Queen") and ABBA's typical pop song is with us, with the fans, because the lyrics speak to us.
and Agnetha assumes that decoding of almost four decades and gives us her beautiful voice as the strings grow and lead to a memorable chorus with Frida reliving the historic third voice of ABBA
But it doesn't end there, the second part adds hooks and a xylophone is added to the bells (a nod to the marimba in "Mamma MĂa"), and the pre-chorus has more force with Agnetha and Frida and the violins anticipate the elevation to a chorus triumphant final anthology reminiscent of his greatest hits
And it ends with a soft and sweet Agnetha voice and piano melody (nod to "Thank you for the music")
Thank for your great reaction
and for Your respect to ABBA music
now wey waiting for the new album
and see in next ABBA vĂdeo
GOD bless You
I love your reaction and I love your sweet comments and insights on the song and the group man. Peaceđđ
Eduardo Yes indeed.Every single word is so symbolic.Every musical riff is so nostalgically familiar.Everything is so detailfuly well crafted.Nothing has been put without a reason. And nothing needs to be changed.Another inspiring little masterpiece added to Abba"s discography along with the others.Equally wonderful.Im sure time will crown it as untouchable as happened with their past glorious recordings. My hat off to them, once again.Thank you Benny,Frida,Bjorn,Agnetha.God knows how we missed you.
Ese segundo estribillo es increĂble! Gran reacciĂłn. Saludos đŠđ·đŠđ·đŠđ·đŠđ·
As always, the vocals, lyrics and music are astounding
I also think it's great that ABBA (founded in 1972) has come together again after 40 years and I can't get enough of the two pre-released songs. In doing so, ABBA not only reaches sentimental old bones like me; the young people are also enthusiastic. But by the way, I would like to mention that my favorite band Yes (founded in 1968) has made music all the time (albeit with a changing line-up) and is also currently releasing a new album ;-)
@Flo Malheur They were "founded" in 1972, but, actually, Agnetha, Björn, Benny and Anni-Frid, first recorded together in 1970......."Hej Gamle Man".....â«â«â«â«âȘâȘâȘâȘâȘâ„
The world really needed ABBA, thank you so much for your reaction â€ïž
Grammy nominees for this song. Well deserved!
Bjorn is a master lyricist. âI go from Mad to not so badâ I would take this literally as a mad person becoming not so mad. God only knows but greetings from AU !
Great reaction.
I've been listening to ABBA all my life and the new album is a blast.
You asked for more information about ABBA during the years.
Well... Björn and Benny has been busy with a lot of musicals like CHESS and "Kristina from DuvemÄla".
Benny also produceed a very talented artist called Josefin Nilsson in -93. I really think you will find that album "Shapes" intresting. Unfortunally she passed away, way to early...
Regards from Sweden
I LOVE THIS SONG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great stuff, this is probably the most incisive and intelligent reaction I have seen to ABBA's return. Congrats and thanks.
Wow, thank you!
That's my thought too. I simply loved the way he explored and expressed himself and who G&T is. Oh, man! This kind of personality is rare!
The best reaction lolđ đ I really like this song too much too
Than to have them on video God! I was in there official fan club thank U ! đ€
Thanks for a great reaction! I grew up with ABBA (I'm born 1970) and always loved them. Great song!
@ That they had to "put away their differences" is largely a (long lived) internet myth. They were always friends and celebrated christmases, birthdays, sometimes even holidays, together (although not all four at the same time).
Abba fan? Welcome to the club! What's it like to be a fan?
Already being one and experiencing the thrill of hearing the new song you heard was coming out. And it's good.
And for me, experiencing that feeling for the first time in 40 years. Heavy. But good.
Great reaction đđ»
My grandmother, my parents, me, my nieces/nephews and their children have all 5 generations experienced new music from ABBA, and have enjoyed and loved it.
2 of my siblings and I are the only ones in the family who have experienced all of ABBA's new releases đđ»â€
ABBA un grupo muy querido en la Argentina de los años 70 y 80
I have a really uncomfortable problem trying to Watch reactions while crying like a baby đ loving ABBA!
goddamn, what a track
There was, Is & will only ever be One ABBA. Their songs aren't just songs, they're "ABBA Songs" The new album is certainly giving the likes of Adele & Ed Sheeran a run for their money, not bad for four 70+ year olds. Wonder if Adele will still be topping the charts in her 70's.
Thanks, mate You're embodied, decoded and that's why I'm herw now. Great work!
Wow, thanks
Thx for your nice reaction
Timeless
Playing this song for weeks already
Thx so very much for the wonderful music
Looking forward to the whole album
Man you are inspirational, great reaction
ABBA es felicidad!!!
I was looking for the right one. I needed someone with your style who loved Abba to react with. Great video.
excellent reaction, one of the best! Love it, Bravo!
Love your enthusiasm man...I saw abba in Wembley London 79...they are simply masters of story telling pop music đ¶...keep up the good work.. mickee London u.k
Aww loved your reaction and genuine feels â€ïž
Got my freak on ...Fabulous start to Saturday thanku so much lovely special casual much love and God bless x
Casual! What an amazing reaction! I knew you'd pick up on the depth of the lyrics. Yes, both these sings are inspirational and transformational! Thanks! đ„°đ
by the way, a tip from me Amanda Marshall "Birmingham" etc. Top singer comes from Canada
In my opinion, she was underestimated. I think that she is a great voice and a great woman.
Another mere mortal visited by ABBA angels and given wings to fly into the heavens and be immersed by the love and ecstacy that only ABBA can bring .
Actually Björn said that tjis song is about a Abbatar but of course the lyrics go deeper than so.
Thatâs not quite what he said. He said it âcould beâ about the Abbatar. Bjorn is known for having lyrics that can be interpreted in more than one way. Brilliant to say the least.
Look at you..this big, cutie of a guy jiving to ABBA!! đ
This was one of the best reactions to any song I've seen! It's really great and glad they are back. They sound amazing still.
What a wonderful reaction x
Loved your passion. Adore ABBA.
Your reaction made me happy too!!!
Great evaluiation , cheers from Stockholm.
I love you man! Love your energy!! Awesome ⊠just like ABBA. X
It's so good !!! Thanks đđđđ
I didn't expect that!đ My wrong! Great reaction man!
and for being in their 70's they are by far superior to anything lately.
Love your reaction. Big Bear Hug from Melbourne Australia đ
Your reaction rocks. Love your video
Hey big guy I think it made you drop a tear it did the same to me
Love the music and the reaction! Very good :-)
đ Thanks for watching
I loved whatching you in this reaction. Power!
Thank you so much! Easy with great music đ¶
5:26 mmmhhhhhhhhhhhhh That burning desire! hehe
Great reaction
Youre cute. Like a viking.. sorry , Im lonely....greetings from Swedenđ
Hahaha thanks!
IÂŽm available! đ Live in Mexico though. đ
So good. I cried.
I wouldn't have thought that a ZZ Top fan ;-) would like abba music! ZZ Top also made good music, not all songs but some were good!
That head sway, and stank face⊠means he gets it!
Amo-vos ABBAđ€©đđ„°đđ
Absolutely a nice man and youâve the same taste in musicđ
I can see that you are a guy connected to your emotions, so I will definitely suggest you to listen to the late mexican composer/singer/showman Juan Gabriel. Why not his masterpiece "Hasta que te conocĂ"? It think it may surprise you. If you havenÂŽt heard it already that is.
Shame to the new generation music artist of today they cannot make a fine music like this.
ABBA đ„°đ
If you ask me, this song was written for Agnetha and Bjorn.... If you know the "history", just think about it.
â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
Please react to Emigrate "Freeze My Mind" and "You Can't Run Away".
For me ABBA is and was something special Music and singing absolutely top in the 70s there were a lot of good bands and music but ABBA was still better, in Sweden they were boycotted by the radio stations because they were too commercial they said on the other side they were able to sell more LPs and MCs! ABBA couldn't read notes either, everything came from feeling and head (is that how you say it?) The bands of the 70s and before all had their own sound, today's music is nothing special for my taste!
if you said you listened to ABBA then you were laughed at " girls band etc. now we know that great artists were in ABBA concerts and they were inspired there.
