We need your continued support so we can continue this humble program of ours.
We need people like you so we can reach poor Filipino families, one at a time.
I've been helping and reaching my fellow Filipinos for more than a decade, since 2006, but without recording it on film.
I just decided to film the activities we do in 2015 to spread awareness.
This time guys: I need your help. I need your helping hands to give joy to Filipino families, one at a time.
    How it works:
Your contribution goes straight to the individual/family we reach/help.
After we reached/helped 1 individual/family: We then move on to help another.
Our objective is to reach 1 economically poor individual/family, one at a time.
    Important notes:
    1. I personally don't receive/get/take/pocket any amount of financial contributions from you guys.
Your contributions go straight to the families we reach and to other expenses.
    2. I do not publish on youtube the stories of the families we reach w/o a signed release agreement and parental/guardian consent.
The release agreement gives me a permission to publish their stories on youtube.
    3. Business, personal and GoFundMe fundraiser accounts: All the funds, contributions, sources of income and other monetary sources that go into my accounts are being reported to the taxman. My bank also reports to the taxman every year, by the end of the year, FYI.
There's a Certified Public Accountant who does the accounting and auditing of my accounts.
The Certified Public Accountant reports to the taxman.
    4. You don't need to open and register a charitable organization/foundation/institution to give help to people in the Philippines.
Reaching and giving help to people in the Philippines is not illegal.
There's no law that states, that you need to open and register a charitable organization/foundation/institution first, before you are able to give help to people legally.
    5. GoFundMe checks the fundraiser account from time to time.
They sometimes ask for verification and validation.
The reason why I upload films/videos about poverty in the Philippines is to spread social awareness.
To combat economic inequality, social injustice, oppression, repression, abuse and exploitation:
1st: We have to be aware.
    2nd: We should pay attention.
3rd: We are ought to do something about it.
We as Filipinos and citizens of this planet should not turn a blind eye, not to play deaf and not to pretend mute.
We as human beings have a responsibility to give care and to show compassion to others.
We as citizens have a great responsibility to safeguard our ball of genuine democracy.
We as citizens have a responsibility to fight tyranny and corruption.
A documentary film/video like this one is very important, because it opens our eyes to the unjust societal reality.
How could we turn a blind eye on social injustice and huge economic inequality?
    Wake up, my fellow citizens!

As a guy coming from European third world country I watch your videos purely because they remind me so much about my own childhood. I used to be poor same as these people that are always in your videos. I remember the hunger and all of the stuff that are shown in your videos. I think that the most important thing that needs to be done is changing the mindset first and foremost, once your mind changes, reality follows.
I'm now at a stage where I could afford 2 trips to the Philippines in the past 6 months, and as an ex poor person I deeply feel the struggles of these people. I firmly belive that nothing is impossible if you put your mind to it and if you don't let any surrounding circumstance stop you. I'm a living proof of that, I do admit that it takes a while to build up that mental fortitude.
I love your work and how you show the real truth about Philippines, I love how you show life in the province.
Your viewership is not big and the engagement is not big but I belive that people who really are compassionate are the people who keep coming back and keep watching no matter who is portrayed in the video itself. In my previous couple of travels I've seen so many foreigners using Philippino girls, those old expats especially and I'm ashamed of that. The reason why those girls accept an older American or European dude is really simple, it's all about the mentallity and not trusting themselves and their own power to change their destiny.
They get conditioned from a really young age that they need a foreigner to get a better life or that they need to marry good in order to get better life, it cannot be further from the truth.
I used to think that way also, and I also used to want to marry some older German lady just for the money, belive it or not it's a real thing in my country. I fully understand their way of thinking and I don't blame them because hunger makes you forget about dignity, people who eat the same thing day after day or people who don't eat at all for days are desperate and I can vouch for it. You don't think much about dignity when you go to bed at night and can't sleep because of hunger. I fully know how it looks like and I fully understand it. What I would advise to all of those people is to struggle to first of all change their mind and belive in themselves no matter how hard it looks like in the moment. There will be 1 milion rejections along the way but everyone needs just 1 right opportunity.
Don't be fooled my country is the same as Philippines, harsh living conditions for the poor and horrible odds no matter what you try, but none the less persistance is the key.
There are some good foreigners tho, I saw people helping out other people with no strings attached.
I wish you all the best Mark and I hope that you keep up the good work. Hopefully I will be able to join you soon!!!!

Kids get abandoned in America, also! They just live in the house so no one will get in trouble for abandonment. But, there is no parenting or care used.🌸

  • @danielnor5508
    @danielnor5508 Před 10 měsíci +6

An important topic. What laws are there in Philippines to prevent parents to abandon their children? Parents should at least provide enough money for their children, if possible.
If this happened here (in the Nordic countries) the one who took care of the children would get money from the government, then the government would hunt down the people abandoning their children. If they refuse to pay money (different amounts depending on what they earn) those parents risk prison.

Thank you Mark, Team and Contributors for helping this family and so many others. This is s heartbreaking for an elderly woman to be left with 2 children and receiving 35 cents from the parent to feed them. How often do they receive 35 cents? How long has she had them?
If you watch you will see the little girl had maybe three bites of food, probably so she can leave for her brother and grandmother. The worst thing a parent can do is abandon their children and let them fend for themselves in life. God says if you don't take care of your own family your worst than a non believer, your fate isn't going to be good.
I pray for an abundance of rice, food, clothes, school supplies for these children and their grandmother, Amen! Maybe a sari sari store to teach the children to earn income for when their grandmother can't anymore. It's been a long time since we saw someone get a store but i do understand that most can't keep it. Just a suggestion, as I'm looking ahead of their future.

This Mark has sprouted a tree that has produced a tree full of bitterness and corrupt judgement. I simply see the fruit and make a call like I would from any fruit tree. Is it good or bad,you decide for yourself. This Mark has a good life. You don't see him in rags and dirty flip flops. Why not let these girls do what they can to help them selves and their families. If the old fat grandpa will love her and take care of her and provide for her family then so be it. Otherwise it could be a life of struggles for everyone. Their are old men here in the US that have been taken to the cleaners by their e wives and all they have is a small pension left and no love ones in sight. Why wouldn't a man in this condition want to be around a people who are most generally happy and polite. It's the rich skinny Filipinos and fat foreigners that have left a sour taste in our belly for taking the innocent girls and put them in the sex slave at local bars and nightclubs. I would rather see thes girls at home being loved and protected by a skinny Filipino or a fat expat than selling their bodies to a life style they will most likely never be able to stop. If two adults with an age gap want to marry, it’s up to them. But, children should not marry.
But, I also understand adult Filipinos are marrying 10-14 year olds in the poor tribes living on Palawan. Children are giving birth to children there.

Spiritual fantasies and ideologies do not fill stomachs.
This is not a Philippines' phenomenon. Everywhere in the world women marry old/ rich men to secure themselves. Even thinking that this is a "filipino thing" makes you a r@cist. Who are we fooling here? Is there a single place on the planet that this did not happen when the population was starving?? What happened to Europeans when communism collapsed and the West was filled with slavic women??
They did the very same things.
They married old men, wait for them to die (or kill them with sex!! LOL!) and left back to their countries with a pension!
Remember the "russian" bars?? The brothels with the "warsaw pact girls"?
So please, let's stop being ignorant and see this as it is-- something that can happen everywhere.

Sir Mark, why u complaining harsh to ure team (almost putting them down) like that? I dont know how the Work ethic/culture there in the PH, but why u not give them more specifics coordinated directions or Script (intern), to make works better together? Its more pisses me off or distract me more about ure complaining, then the „mistake“ of others, if u would be my boss, i would leave immediately…..

My reply to an insight that you’ve shared re;SEXpat -young willing women with no income are the one who are enticing them. For their family’s future betterment . Sad but true and it goes both ways. Retirees wants to recapture their youth and the poor wants to feed their 5 children abandoned by their father

It looks like the people are saying you keep most of the money raised at the GoFundMe page and what you make off CZcams funds. I am not say you do or not. But I have read some of your messages and you hate a man that made America Greater than it ever has been in the past 40 plus years. If you own a business you would know this and not hate the 45 president. And you advertise Krypto money on here. You have to admit, it does look like you are profiting off the exposures of the poor folks and children.
