Maybe if CC had played the 2023 US Summer games after the Natty like AR did she would be on the Olympic Team. But since she never played on any US Senior National team she didn't qualify. Hell AB is more qualified than CC because she played on the US team. Most people aren't qualified for jobs if they haven't been trained for it. If Gray can't make it, its the next woman up who actually tried out for the team in 2023 or veterans who are familiar with the Coach Reeves, coaching style.

Achilles full recovery will not happen until next season. A stable Achilles does not give you confidence. Takes a while to get that injury out of your head. It will be point guard by committee. If they accepted CC in this league she would be on this team. They cannot get pass their h*te. This is going to be a very robotic team with 100% half court offense. If I were an opponent I would run every chance possible.
I don’t understand them not being a younger team. Back when the Olympics started, didn’t they play the best college kids over the pros? They need younger, faster players.
If this team comes in silver or lower I do not know how they are going to be able to explain it. The media is going to have a lot of hard questions and that doesn't event start with what fans are going to have to say.
Age, injury, and tainted Coach has me worried about team USA.
The only tainted issue is CC who chose not to represent the US national team in 2023 by trying out and get a free pass for all the women who sacrificed. I mean certain people won a natty and still found time to try-out and made the US team .... even though they weren't selected to be on the Olympic team, they have the experience in working with the Olympic team coaching staff. She and others who didn't make it know what they are looking for. None of these women made an issue about not being on the Olympic roster when they actually were younger, won a natty, had a strong showing in the US games as a new comer only to be beaten by Brazil who Kamila Cardoso played for ... and guess what Brazil have 40 year olds on their roster, bigger, Cardoso look like a baby at 6'7.

I just can't go along with Diana being on the team. She does not need her 6th Olympic Gold Medal. That is the tragedy in all of this. The real test will be if any of these injured athletes play at the all star game let alone the Olympics. I understand for most of them it’s their last Olympics but at this point its embarrassing to see athletes cling this hard to career that’s over. They’re going to the Olympics and the chances of them being able to play doesn’t look that good and if they do they risk injuring themselves even more. And when they go down as an old injured who’re they going to blame for that they can’t blame Caitlin or angel.

Gray is so slow and Plum is a average guard. That was the worst end of game last night. What was that play from Plum with less than a minute. Carter was unstoppable. Reese was average and I don't understand how they use Kardosa and I don't even like the Sky

I have a bad feeling of these team, they should act fast and replace these injured players. Four I think are injured now, they should think about this because if other country saw them they mightctake advantage and lose the game. There are many good players to choose from aside from Clark.
Achilles injuries take a year to heal and rarely heal correctly. Dan Marino said his Achilles was elongated, stretched and he could never fully extend his foot. For an athlete, that's the end of your mobility. Marino said he couldn't step into his throws anymore. I'd imagine a basketball player would lose their jump shot. A 7ft center could lose their mobility and be OK. A point guard is finished.
Colson was playing well, her defense brought Vegas back but sat out the end of game. Gray came in and could not guard anyone! 🤦♂️

Chelsea Gray is an excellent post-guard, but since her return it's been very clear that she doesn't have what it takes for Team usa; And the team isn't in great shape, with Diana Taurasi, Naphesa Collier, Gray and now Stewie almost all injured. If it's Caitlin Clark's head that's a problem, they could even take Chennedy Carter, Mcbride, De Wanna Bonner or Arike, but as they are now and the inconsistent level of Jackie Young and Kelsey Plum, teams like Australia, Canada, China or France could beat them on their big night.

Reeve is not going to change her "system". And that game is a blueprint on how to play USA for best success.
Chelsea never has been an elite point guard. Her career stats are measly 12.2 ppg, 3.1 rebs and 5 assist. Her assist number only went up when she started playing with Aces, but how hard can that be to increase her assist number playing with 3 Olympians. They call her "point gawd", but probably because of how she passes behind her back, and I am definitely not impressed with her, particularly post-injury. She is just awful to look at.
There are some pretty good international teams. We'll see how the U.S. does. Besides I think it's better to see great competition than always watching 1 team blowing out everyone all the time, it can get boring.
What was the game plan last night against Carter? Just completely let her score? What happened to plum? Lol she cooked fever and it's not like the sky guarded her any better.
Plum had what I'm sure was her worst game of the year. Really weird watching that performance. Did you see that fast break layup she tried with like 1:30 left in the game? WTAF was that? It looked like a 7th grader trying some random jacked up layup.
They are trying to give her minutes to try and get her in shape for the Olympics , how many players are injured or just coming back from injury that are not going to be in full basketball shape?? At least 4/5 the coach has to say and do something because it would be embarrassing to lose because they are all playing bad.
She's played in 11 games now. Her fitness should be fine as she's over 25 minutes a game now. The problem is she doesn't seem to be full recovered from her achilles injury. Hell, remember when Kobe blew his out. He was a shell of himself after that. Granted he was a bit older, but those injuries aren't like ACL tears, etc. Much harder to come back 100% from.
All star game should be interesting. I don’t see how Team USA beats the WNBA all stars. And how is Chennedy Carter not on the all star team? Not cool.

Gray looks like someone’s grandmother trying to get around on the court. Aces celebrating her return shows how much trouble they’re in. Kate Martin being the exception, their bench is weak. Beating the Liberty in a playoff series this year looks doubtful.

If we're fair, Clark in early june didn't deserve the call. As of right now, obviously, nobody can argue with a straight face that Chelsea Gray, Kelsey Plum, Alyssa Thomas or Diana Taurasi are better than her.
I expect a change or two right after all star game...Taurasi is ok with seeing bench, but Gray and Collier may be replaced....Griner still has that broken toe
