The flails are also able to copy Wizzrobe rods, with at least the fire rods setting things on fire, which is pretty cool
I copied an ice rod.
@@metarunning3845 What does it do?
@@SuspiciousTemmie It freezes the enemies
It like when you copy one handed weapons
All copied rods have their element included in the attack fire ice or electric. Also bladed and fortified flails have different attacks I think guardian flail has different attack than the other two as well if I remember right. It's only 1 or two differences but they are definitely there
If the Flails are usable in BoTW2, then I hope it serves as a grappling system. Climbing would be so fun with these nonsensical nunchucks.
Like the double clawshot from Twilight Princess but on steroids?
I actually had an Idea like this, where a hookshot in BOTW could have been a guardian's leg since those can grab onto things and kinda look like a clawshot. I hope that's what actually happens haha
There was the double clawshot originally in BoTW but it was too broken so they took it out
I don’t think it’ll be canonically possible tho.
Think about it, this was through research from terrako, and terrako doesn’t exist in the BoTW/BoTW2 Canon. AoC is literally just a buffed AU akaka, but it’s a hope.
Your going to be right because the monk was from the botw 1 dlc and was brought into age of clamity in the vanilla game so they most likely would bring a dlc weapon or item in botw 2
5:10 Koei Tecmo: How do we bring back the weapon breaking mechanics in BotW without everyone hating on us?
_side-eying kirby_
I hate the fact that you are correct
It's interesting that both Bike and Flail are basically improved concepts of the Epona and Gauntlet weapons from the previous game respectively. I love what the devs are doing with this game. Can't wait for whatever they have planned for DLC2, considering it says "Expanded Roster". More unique characters inbound!
Secretly rooting for Lana and Cia to be playable, especially if ZR switches between the two at will with their own playstyles (Grimoire and Whip, Lightning and Darkness)
as much i lke lana and cia storywise it wouldnt just add up even more
That absolutely would not happen even if I do love Lana so much
I think Purah and/or Robbie would be nice since they have new designs and were shown in the trailer, perhaps Robbie's is completely based on Sheikah technology and Purah's is a mix of Sheikah technology and some of Impa's skills
It'd be nice to see at least a reference to them, maybe Volga and Wizzro too.
Lmao they are not getting in
Anyone else think the flail and bike would’ve been better if they were given to Robbie and Purrah respectively. Like AoC Purrah could totally make sense riding a motorcycle and taking a selfie while she commits vehicular manslaughter
ok but what if we get a robbie and purrah mech
While I would have loved to see Purah and Robbie playable, they're scientists, not warriors, and can serve a much more active role as supporting characters rather than playable ones. This is all from a lore standpoint. Also the quest descriptions for Zelda's relationship with the Master Cycle are so precious, I can't see the devs giving it to anyone else
@@SamRegan610 Look i get where your coming from with them being scientists not combatants but.... Hestu
@@SamRegan610 That's why they would use the highly technological weapons that also give a good deal of protection. The flail being such long range that most enemies won't get close and the bike being so fast that they can't be touched. They make perfect sense for less combative characters to use.
I thought for sure, Purah, was going to be announced at E3, as well as Sooga. I guess they're being held off until the next pack? Or at least Purah is... she's featured in all the DLC artwork.
The flail is basically what I would imagine Botw's take on the hookshot would be, as well as a weaponized version of the hook/clawshot as a HW moveset. the added bonus of weapon copying is just icing on the cake.
Jusy imagine if all this time, the flail was a sneak peek into botw 2
It might be
I was thinking the same thing. The motorcycle too
@@AmariieMaerthos The motorcycle is already in botw tho
@@AlexTheDoggoMaster I did not realize that. Apparently I need to finish the Champion's Ballad stuff
@@AmariieMaerthos but it was in a trailer too lol
Congratulations on getting these DLC guides done so quickly. They're not totally perfect, the comments have brought up at least one edge case with wands that could've been mentioned here, but they're more than good enough to send any player on their way. And again, you worked FAST for the quality on display.
Others have said it, but you can also copy the elemental rods. They work like 1H swords but add an even wider AOE freeze/burn/shock effect when you use them.
I hope one of the next weapons is gonna be an Ancient Bladesaw, but reworked a bit. So it would fellt like a saw a not just another blunt object.
It would be pretty cool if Robbie used it
I think the concept of having 3 different and be equally useful weapons is very cool and I do personally like more them the weapons having tiers.
I remember DW6 did something like that where one was more balanced, the other was weaker but faster and the other stronger but slower, or something like that. Both the Flail and the Master Cycle does look a nice step of the right direction with that concept.
Someone may have mentioned it, but when you copy an elemental weapon from a wizzrobe, your attacks gain that elements property when you attack with it.
This weapon turned Age of Calamity into God of War
The Spider-Man move (2nd Strong Attack) had my jaw dropping at the absurdity of him swinging in the air.
I think something was missed... If you use the unique action on a wizzrobe, you can copy the rod and dish out elemental damage.
You can also copy the elemental wands too. They add elements to your attacks.
What !?!?!
Fun fact: You can copy the dark champion's weapons (except revali's) with the flails. So link can technically wield the scimitar of the seven, lightscale trident and cobble crusher and a copy of the master sword
Daruk's weapon is called the boulder breaker not the cobble crusher.
@@stewartcrislip7274 I think he said it since I believe dark Daruk actually wields the Cobble Crusher and not the Boulder Breaker
I am pretty sure the bladed versions strong attack can actually expose the Weakpoint Gauge with a headshot.
Was hoping for this after finding your channel, I love this weapon so much
*guardian legs*
*WHAT DID THEY DO TO TERRAKO'S BROTHER*
agreed
Thank you for making these videos. I love your channel and I appreciate how concise and informative you are. Keep up the great work.
Really great breakdown. Clean, informative, wanting for nothing. Exactly what I want looking for info on the new weapons
I think it should be notable that a lot of Link's attacks set him up in the air for aerial attacks. I've also had way more success with this weapon than with any other weapon in its aerial attacks hitting enemy heads and forcing the weak gauge to appear.
I think it's worth stressing that for the fortified flail, *the barrier is completely deceptive and cosmetic.* The only part of the attack that can parry is if the attack hits LINK himself. It took me way too long to realize that's why I was having issue timing it.
It has come to my attention that Link is now Kratos with this moveset... awesome.
Not sure if anyone has already said this but, when copying rod type weapons, they become the single handed weapon type. They do, however, inflict their respective elemental damages when attacking!
EX conquer hyrule has me super suspicious. I really hope that it means that astor/ sooga are guaranteed to be playable in the next DLC
i dunno, I got a completely different impression. They could have given us a villain campaign like Hyrule Warriors 1, with cutscenes, dialogue and everything, but all they gave us was a quest where you happen to play as the enemy. Sure, in the quest you “destroy hyrule,” but nothing happens once the quest is over.
@@spoon7053 here's the thing though: why the heck does a villain-centric mission try and let you swap out who you can have on your team?
seeing as calamity Gannon and master Khoga are literally the only "villain" characters why didn't it restrict the player to just those two?
In a situation like this character order between the two really doesn't matter enough to really warrant being able to reorder the characters. doesn't seem like there are many options as to what this could be, things delayed by covid or not
9:17 wow i searched for this video for just this small thing
I really love your videos and how you teach how to use the characters, specially since you focus a lot on the pros of each character. Could you make a video or recommend any that teaches better about weapon builds and seals? I thought the game was very confusing on teaching it and honestly I have no idea what I'm doing.
Attach his flail, so where in the air...
Spiderman: first time?
In my game, Link is currently equipped with his Guardian Flails which right now have a higher attack stat than his Master Sword (80 v. 104!). Plus they’re so much fun to use. Definitely my weapon of choice!
Fun fact. If you copy a wizzrobes weapon then the attacks will be infused with the wizrobes elemental power. So if you copy a fire wizzrobe then he will be like Kratos from god of War and be able to spread fire with your attacks
This is more of a tip for leveling it up quickly. If you have the materials to produce several matching flails or Master Cycles, you can chain fuse them for a net gain in the exp total every time. Even better if you get any great success fusions.
I love these videos and how you seem to pump this videos out at a very constant rate. I look forward to seeing a video on the final character you earn in the base game as I really enjoy playing as them and would be interested what seals would fit them best.
Bladed flails first strong attack (the laser blast) can headshot and reveal the WPG.
This is my new favorite play style
I can confirm a strength to the copied spear I just discovered - it crushes weak points faster than anything else I've ever seen on enemies with status effects (shocked, frozen, etc.) Am cheesing an EX alert silver lynel with it, it's REALLY effective for that!
Is this the AoC version of the Ball and Chain from Hyrule Warriors DE?
Yes and riju and the master cycle would be the eponas and the battle tested guardian would be ghirahim
Hello, great video as always. I was wondering what difficultly you record on. It changes how strong a weak point gauge is.
Im impressed by how quickly you released these DLC guides. How do you even get the hidden seals so quickly? Or if you get the info from an outside source, how do THEY get the seals so quickly? Fusing weapons on separate accounts?
You can always have like several 15+ Fusion Material Exp +275% so you can "test" level up your weapons to level 30, or just fuse your really high level weapons into the tested weapon.
Take a screenshot/write down the seals so you don't forget.
Then simply soft reset your game since the game doesn't autosave after leveling up a weapon. That's how I safely found out the hidden seals of each weapon I was interested in without any consequences.
Thanks for the announcement, I thought the fortified flail was the strongest of the three and used the other two to upgrade it 😂😅
A flail-like weapon (specifically a kusarigama) was a weapon I wanted HW1 Impa to have as her a 3rd option, allowing her to cover 3 elements and have 3 characteristic Japanese-themed weapons. I wonder how they would have implemented a similar mechanic in the first game^^
On an amusing note, the flail being a Sheikah-made prototype is perfect based on what I had in mind hehe
So, just to make sure I'm getting this right, each copied weapon's moveset has a regular attack string of only 2 attacks and only 1 strong attack that can be used no matter how many regular attacks have been done before it?
Pretty much. I've tested it myself.
Yeah its a bit like ganon's calamity form, which also have limited attackstrings and reveal WPG
I feel like with enough tinkering someone could turn into Dr. Octopus in Hyrule
i find there seems to be a difference between grabbing a grunt weapon and a stronger enemy weapon.
all of the stronger enemy weapons can decimate their weakpoints. (such as club vs bigger club. still the same club just bigger)
I'm so upset, no disappointed that these weren't called Guardian-chucks, yo!
I always felt like the bladed flail for some reason what breaking WPG faster than the other flail options (though I could swear the same occurred with the cycles offensive hunter version vs the other cycles)
Aw yea it’s time for the nunchuck legs
This and master cycle are probably the best of the weapons aside from master sword I actually love!
Idk why the game keeps giving me good seals for zelda so i just put them all on a master cycle and now she is my 2nd best character
4:03 i think when link dose that the claws turn into helicopter blades to swing around when he’s outside (kinda like the wirebugs in monster hunter rise) in my opinion
I like to think when the guardian arms are hooked onto nothing they actually stasis themselves so they cant move
By the way, The best way to get guardian claws other than the ex battles is chapter 5, calamity strikes
I just realised you don't talk about the a button special
That bokoblin got wrecked in that regular attack demonstration by complete accident. Edit: you can also steal the wands the Wizzrobes use.
On the thumbnail I thought the flail was terakos leg
Tbh I was hoping you could copy more weapons with the flails, but it’s still pretty interesting. I do like that they made multiple viable options. The obviousness of endgame builds is disappointing - wish there were other viable strategies and not just attack speed for everything.
Yeah I wish the other wealons for characters were slightly different like the newer weapons
You can just go with raw damage, but it is still equally bland. Limiting a player to 2 of a Seal Shape would've helped a lot.
I also agree, I wish Link could copy more... the major enemies you face tend to lack weapons to steal meaning Link ends up oddly weak in those fights unless there are small enemies you haven't accidentally killed.
I wish you could copy bows
@@Buglin_Burger7878 EXACTLY. The big boys don’t have weapons to copy and I was so disappointed. Not exactly sure how it would work but like can I copy a stone talus arm and bludgeon it??
Kinda sad that Tears of the Kingdom doesn't offer a new weapon like this one, though,. This was a fun weapon for Link...
I hope Guardian scout is added
I only wish theyd let us copy bow weapons. It could act like 1H but fire short range projectiles for Y and maybe a multi hit type blast for X.
The Flails give me serious god of war vibes
This is perhaps one of the coolest new toys that Link has gotten in a while.
his unique action reminds me of bayonetta tbh!! how you can steal enemy weapons for a short time haha
I think I heard someone mention the flail has a special interaction with boomerang type weapons?
I tried playing with them a little, but as far as I can tell, they just act like one-handed weapons. Even when you re-use the unique action button to throw them prematurely, they just break rather than coming back to you.
@@NajaSide
Thank you, I don't have the DLC yet, so I couldn't test it myself.
They were probably talking about something else, probably that the one handed Link moveset with the boomerang has a unique charged heavy attack where you throw the weapon instead of doing a spin attack, and I just though they were still talking about the flail.
5:16 No mention on Link being able to Copy Rods?
Honestly I was hoping Link would swing them like Ryu Hayabusa's Vigoorian Flail
honestly nintendo missed an oppurtinity to make it so that link twists the flails while riding the wind
Hey I’m trying to find the best spot to farm hidden battle reports but can’t find em anywhere I feel like I’m going crazy!!! No info on em anywhere! Please help
Me after watching all character explanations: and we’re just supposed to figure this out?
Mr Steal-your-Weapon
Using copied Spears against enemies suffering from status effects will chew their weak point gauge up and spit it out
Insta-like for the seal pun 🙂
So something to mention is that while I don't know to what extent, using Wizrobe wands seem to have SOME elemental effect with the Flails. I know at the very least, when I used the Fire Rod/Meteo Rod on a mission, it did set the grass on fire, but I don't know if that was just a visual effect or not or if it actually did anything.
No, it does have the elemental effect. It’s very amazing to use
@@catalyst539 I figured as such. I just haven't had a good chance to test it out since Vicious Monster battles surprisingly don't allow you the best opportunity to test that.
What's the difference between the three flails?
I need some help getting it
How do I get a guardian claw?
How do you revail the weapons up to level 30 IN this update
Well the developers were a bit "lazy" with the C1s of the Flail and Master Cycle with both either being a Dash, Shooter or Reflector.
However, this is not a bad thing due to the fact that we are able to choose or weapon based on preference and not Tiers.
The DLC-Weapons are very unique being made instead of found, improved by quests and having different designs with other C1s and I highly hope that we will have at least one or two more with the "Crafting"-System instead of the Tier-System one.
Age of Kratos
my brother accidentally sold them, but can I get them back somehow???
Who else was thinking of god of wars blade of chaos
How do u get that weapon and what’s the name
Unlimited Flail Works
hoping for calamity ganon soon, everyone is saying his magnesis is broken, but yet to figure out how
it has electric properties, which make it an unlimited thunder rod
KRATOS?!?! IS THAT YOU!?!?!?
How to unlock? Got the Expansion pass, but only have the pre-order bonus.
The Ancient Lab gives you some quest from the dlc
why didnt you do this one before the other two
since most ppl likely gonna unlock the fail way before the gurdian or eponator.
Because he’s doing more unconventional movesets first
i accidentally fused my flails to my other weapons, is it possible to get them back?
Go to the Royal Ancient Lab and buy new ones.
Kratos link
I dunno if it's a bug or a feature, but I noticed that when you throw a copied weapon at a second level Wizzrobe (i.e. Meteo Wizzrobe), it doesn't reveal the weak point gauge.
It’s a feature, it’s impossible to expose wpg except for a few exceptions
@@its0dill659 And it's for all wizzrobes, not just second-level ones. And on a side note, what exceptions do you know about? The only one I can think of is using rods.
Wizzrobes and the flying guardians are special in that you just can't force their WPG with your normal moveset. It's stupid and I absolutely despise the flying guardians because of it.
@@SuspiciousTemmie flail links spear copy does wpg damage, otherwise I can’t think of any right now
@@Fioriole Good to know. It's just that the guide said that throwing always shows a weak point gauge, which sounds like an absolute. Which it isn't
Flail link is best link
God of War mode
The practice enemies are WAY too clumsy in this video.
Wizzrobe rods has elemental properties if you copy them.
I love this weapon. I’m a huge melee weapon guy. If I could find a real life weapon like this (highly unlikely) I would buy it immediately. This weapon is amazing. I wish it was in breath of the wild, and hope something like it makes an appearance in the sequel
I really it, feels like using a DW three section staff.
HE COPIES RODS AND CAN USE FIRE/ICE/LIGHTNING
The more I think about it, the Guardian Flail is basically this game’s version of the double claw-shots.
How do people shit out this many Attack Speed ++ seals? I've only ever found 4 or 5 and I've got a 100h into the game.
The copy mechanic had me left with a suprised pikachu face. From a nice to have to main wep.
This weapon kinda sucks with bosses. You can’t copy anything from them so the unique ability is useless. Thats why its low tier for me
Incorrect you can copy any boss that uses an actual weapon and furthermore the weapons you copy off the bosses generally break open their WPG on each hit and do more damage to the gauge than you do without as well
For example I've copied lynels crushers and swords as well as moblins swords and spears still have to test on CG tho. Also copied wizzrobe wands apply their elemental effect with each attack until broken
I was talking more along the lines of the giant enemies like hinox, talus, guardians, etc.
@@randomgengar it's still capable of breaking open wpg instantly if you copy other monster weapons around them it's super useful against vicious monsters for that reason exactly actually
@@randomgengar, The weapon copying isn’t necessary for this moveset.
