Kulisy Paryż 2024: Czy sportowcy zatrują się w Sekwanie?

Za niecały miesiąc, Sekwana ma być teatrem zmagań najlepszych specjalistów triathlonu i maratonu pływackiego. Nie wiadomo jednak czy rozegranie tych zawodów w Sekwanie będzie w ogóle możliwe. Paryska rzeka ciągle nie jest bezpieczna dla kąpieli. Sekwana przekracza wszelkie dozwolone normy zanieczyszczenia wyznaczone przez Międzynarodowe Federacje - pływacką i triathlonu. Siedem lat temu, organizatorzy obiecywali oczyścić Sekwanę. Zainwestowali w tym celu prawie 1,5 Md EUR. Efektów tych obietnic wciąż jednak nie widać.
O ocenę sytuacji zapytałem Surfrider Foundation, organizacją pozarządową zajmującą się ochroną oceanów i akwenów.

In less than a month, the Seine will host the best triathlon and swimming marathon specialists. However, it is not known whether it will be possible to hold these competitions in the Seine at all. The Paris river is still not safe for swimming. The Seine exceeds all permitted pollution standards set by the International Swimming and Triathlon Federations. Seven years ago, the organizers promised to clean up the Seine. They have invested almost EUR 1.5 Md for this purpose. Despite these efforts, their promise weren't followed by any tangible effects so far.
To assess the situation, I asked Surfrider Foundation, a non-governmental organization engaged in the protection of oceans and water bodies.

Dans moins d'un mois, la Seine accueillera les meilleurs spécialistes du triathlon et de la natation marathon. Mais on ne sait pas encore si ces compétitions pourront bien se tenir dans la Seine. Le fleuve parisien n'offre toujours pas les conditions sanitaires adéquates pour des épreuves de natation. La Seine dépasse toutes les normes de pollution fixées par les Fédérations Internationales de Natation et de Triathlon. Il y a sept ans, les organisateurs avaient promis de nettoyer la Seine. ils ont investi près de 1,5 Md EUR pour réaliser cet objectif. Les résultats se font toujours attendre.
