- About time I got a move on with this one. The Tamiya TT-02 Type SRX is the most expensive "budget" road kit you will ever see LOL. In this video, we keep the project moving forward with a rally body from the just rereleased Tamiya TT02 2003 Ford Focus RS. Unfortunately, this kit doesn't come with the vintage RS rally decals, so we picked up an aftermarket set from L&LModels.

I love this kit. Out of the box it handles great. Mine just did 78 MPH .looking to get 100 MPH on monday!
Stunning RS body mate 👌🏼
Thanks 👍
Great collection, and by far the best lookin wife in the RC CZcams world...👍 Lucky man. Take good care of her. Shes a keeper
Yep she’s amazing and in the next video funny enough
@@RCKickschannel 👍
Nice choice of body and a good livery choice as well Gavin 👌
Great looking Body 😊
Now that’s a pretty looking Ford Focus rally car! Even for an RC. 👍
That body turned out mint Gav, well done.
Building my tt02 ford gt for the poor boys speed run challenge. Hoping to hit 80 mph
I really love the old rally cars it looks amazing you’ve done a grand job
Thanks David
One of my fave liverys for the focus RS, cracking job there Gav, hope you sort the electric issue out. Nothing worse than something you cant see.
I am huge Focus fan because of Colin McRae. I own a Focus mk1 in real life. I wish i can buy models like this one. Its so expensive in Turkey.
Woooohoooo!!! This thing is Awesome 👏
Looks amazing Gav, nice job 👍
I have an original one of these on a TT-01 chassis, I really like it. It's basically a shelf queen but it does get the odd run out. I have the OZ wheels fitted, they really set it off though I do like the wheels you have fitted.
That looks awesome 😎👍🏻
I like how the blue Wheelnuts match the RS Decals, that looks really nice. If you want to unlock the full potential of this chassis on the Racetrack you should consider the ZooRacing BWOAH!. It is lightweight and has a low CoG. PSM Racings makes low Shocktowers that allow to use SSBB dampers, so you can use BigBore Spings like Xray 2.5-2.8 at the front and 2.6 at the rear. (or Core Rc Brown and Black...) Put the front Bodyposts on the Front Bumper. You want to limit the Drop in the Dampers because the lower arms of the SRX don't have the grub screws in the correct position for the Rebound Stoppers 54638. Or use the Yeah Racing carbon plates TATT-033. And proper racing tires. 🏆
Crazy edit!
so glad you went with this i pesonaly would shelf this so good
Charlie is getting very good at the intro editing. For not having thumbs that is.
I sold my SRX to a lad at my RC club, a very very good driver in fact he is racing at the worlds 1/10 off-road championship in Phoenix next week. The SRX drives really well but I’d recommend the full alloy steering servo mount and the Tamiya alloy bulkhead mounts that mount you camber links to
The diff cases and off the shock towers which make it a lot better to drive lastly the long travel alloy steering set not the short one , lots of steering lock etc ;) good luck racing it :)
Thanks for the info Andy :)
Wow superb job with that car. Thought it was going to be a mac rae tribute with the vid of the rally car 😂 can't wait for the next vids, shame about the fitment of wheels for that kit. Thanks for the great vid 👍
Not much real footage of the RS livery car this kit is based on. Only a few pictures online.
Nice job 👍
Nice one
There are a few bits. 😉😁
Nice job on the body. 👍
Nice kit. àre you trying to put 26mm rally dish wheel? it should nothing to do with the suspension or upright, but the ribs design on that wheel and the offset (+2). Try the 24mm rally dish wheel with zero offset and see if it can fit.
Nice Rc ❤
bought a 2nd SRX, runs great, love tt02's, just got to upgrade the wonky steering on the stock ones, and the diffs, plastic gear diffs that is
What diffs did you fit?
came with 22049, for rear on the SRX, but I installed the plastic gear diffs on the TT02R, 22049's on the stock TT02 also, you can get away with just upgrading the rears, and heavy grease lockout the fronts, to save a few bucks, then you have to upgrade the outshafts and arms, I did the lightweight, When all said and done, just buy the SRX, so nice
If it’s not too late try to get the hobbywing motor instead of the reedy. That way you will get motor temps with data logging.
I hear the Reedy is a better motor
@@RCKickschannel I wouldn’t say that. You just gain a feature using the HW combo.
Looks toòoo white. Practice your airbrush skills on the used rally look. Remember little is more. 👍
Looking forward to this. I really don’t want to spend $700 on a touring car chassis.
If you can get the SR on a discound I would consider this kit (47439). I personally think it is a better deal then the SRX. The best piece is of the SRX is the new differential. (220049) Apart form this the new Spool is lighter but not necessary. (22047) The Xpress XQ2S would be cheaper but the drivetrain is not sealed. The TT-02 allows to put a raincover on and drive in the wet. 😁
I understand that ur doing the CZcams thing a little here and there nowadays to feed the family since back when u went "full time" but man i miss the old cars that U were restoring for the collection! we dont see anything from what started the channel. Or none of those kits from a few yrs back that still hasn't been built. And where is the finish video of the Blazing Blazer and custom painted driver? and the FULL BUILD VIDEO'S? Im still here for any content u put out ill watch. And i always give a like and i have been subbed since the channel first started u had way less then 100 subs
Unfortunately funding for the channel is extremely limited now as I’ve put in as much money as I can over the last few years and it can’t continue. This has a massive hit on content creation for vintage builds and restorations. Also builds take up so much time and effort and the same or more people will watch an RTR unboxing and run. I have loads of finished builds on the show but how many people actually watch them? RCKicks videos only make £30 each and that doesn’t go far, especially these days. Patreons are keeping the channel alive completely now but with only 76 and falling, this isn’t lioking great. I’m trying my best with what I have available but that’s just how it is and people expect high quality content for free.
sorry.
Gav, Tamiya will be selling the Focus WRC body set separately soon instead of buying the TT-02 to put it on a TT-02…
Also, switch to front bumper body posts from the TB-Evo 5 or that body will go crunch and crack on the first hard barrier you hit.
Hmmm i do fancy another tamiya
Just as I am heading out the door for work .....
BBL
Hope you have a stress free day👍🏻
Trick 🤙🏼😊
With regards to you intermittent problems what radio and receiver gear are you using I hope not the NB4 I believe some one I watch had the problem with that system
I don't think it's that as the car runs fine for the first 10 laps before the issues start appearing. It feels more like a voltage thing.
That Focus looks really, really good. The SRX isn't a bad car, but sadly not up to most of the modern cars.....
What color do you use to back with PS1 white with ?
Silver and then black
I've had similar issue's with my rc car where it cut out. it happend with me due to a high current servo and electronics. And when the BEC couldn't catch up so it cut off. What solved that for me was a small capacitor for the receiver.
I hope you can get it sorted. nothing worse than to have fun and have it be ruined by a unresponsive car.
I’ll try that 👍🏻
What class you going in to most run 17.5T or 13.5T
13.5
What does the SR-X get that the SR didn't? 🧐
TRF lower arms, alloy out drives and driveshafts. Locked front diff and a few other bits.
You don’t drive all of em?
Nope! I collect a load of shelf queens
Tamiya really should be above plastic friction shocks by now 🤦
It comes with plastic oil shocks
They just want to
Make extra money by having you buy cva shocks
@@IowaBudgetRCBashers If you can afford an additional 25€ to your 100€ rc car kit, you're probably in the wrong income bracket for the hobby.
